The videos are so fitting to the music. As the music has layers, so do the videos. They're absolutely one of the top 5 best musical groups ever. So glad you guys finally made it into the R&R Hall of Fame. Congrats. Well deserved and certainly late as hell, but as they say, better late than never. Good trips for decades to your music. Thanks.
Requiescat in pace. The band's body of work would be unthinkable without Ray Thomas, in the form of his impassioned flute-playing and winsome vocals and, not least, his songwriting - any time you hear Moodies lyrics imbued with playful, storybook whimsy and innocent childlike wonder at the world's flora and fauna, whether depicting children at mid-morning play, a twilight "aerial display by the firefly brigade, dancing to tunes no one knew", the exhilaration of taking sixty-foot lighter-than-air leaps across the surface of the moon, or hymning his beloved in immemorial sea-shanty style, you can bet with confidence that you are hearing the words of Ray Thomas.
Absolutely wonderful video! I love this song even more when I get to spend those Summer days with my 7 year old.

sidDkid87 A bittersweet and profound observation upon innocence, or the loss thereof; that the benefits and privileges of adulthood come at a steep price. I can imagine Ray Thomas himself sighing with nostalgia as he wrote this.
sidDkid87 Also, an observation of my own: could any self-respecting pop/rock songwriter get away with lyrics like these today, in this jaded and cynical era? They'd be a laughing stock. Such is the world that the children of "Days Of Future Passed"'s time have inherited (or, the more pessimistic might counter, helped create).

Gorgeous song. I've luckily found it finally, will be one of my best. But saying sincerely, Denny Laine's period of this band was my best.

Woke one morning in a big tin shed. Workmen's quarters. A huge black thunder sky moving in at dawn as it was the beginning of the 'Wet season' in the tropics. This song was playing. One of the other boys had already been awake for a while and was frying eggs and bacon and I could smell the fresh coffee. The morning was warm and still. Somehow I achieved that wonderful sensation of waking up so very slowly and since my senses were being both soothed and heightened at the same time by the sound of this music and by the smell of that breakfast , it was a morning I have never forgotten. Darwin 1976 and when still very much of a 'war zone' after so much of it having been destroyed by Cyclone Tracey a couple of years earlier.

@@mustangmikep51 I didn't express it as well as I should have. The tropical thunderstorm with all that rain about to come in at dawn, the smell of bacon and eggs and coffee, being snuggled under covers and slowly coming to 'life' with this beautiful music bringing me out of dreamland. Soon to be 50yrs later, the whole scene with all of its sensations, is still with me.
