Personally I love how much of a threat Bowser is in Galaxy 1. Galaxy 2 was apart of an era where you don’t take the guy seriously. He was turned into an antihero in BIS. I say their tied looking at them both. Sure there are better stars in Galaxy 2 but there are also shit ones I can never get into.

I think that the people who prefer Galaxy one over two (myself included) just have unshakable nostalgia. If I think about gameplay, level design, and amount of content, Galaxy 2 definitely comes out on top. I think its better than Galaxy one, but I'm just too damn fond of that game to give it any negativity. I'm not too big of a fan of Mario games that play it safe, which is why you won't see me defending the New Super Mario Bros. series -besides DS- too often. Galaxy has a more compelling story, original setpieces, and a more down-to-earth -tee-hee- tone that makes it more enjoyable for me on top of the gameplay. An analogy would be having two cakes. Galaxy is a small cake with loads of icing and toppings, while Galaxy 2 is a large cake with icing and toppings only on individual slices.

tbh I always have had a hard time picking one Galaxy game over the other. I've played both consecutively in the past and I've had great memories with both.
I give you props for showing off the GBA remakes of the Super Mario Advance series. Nearly every RUclipsr puts aside the GBA remakes for the original, perhaps for good reasons, but mostly connected to their nostalgia. The E-Reader levels were really what sold me into SMA4 back when it was released. I went out of my way for the E-Reader. But to see the levels actually MENTIONED FOR ONCE IN GODS LIFE. I'm pleased.

Your childhood statement about Mario 64 would be Mario 3 for me. I was already a teenager when 64 came out and didn't play it until 98. Mario 3 was a game my late uncle john absolutely adored. Every time I went to visit, he'd be playing with my cousins. Although he died young about 23 years ago (I think today) I will always see my him when I play this game, and when I show it to my young nephew.
I have more love for Galaxy 1 because it gives more intimacy between player and game. It had so many quiet, lonely moments. I feel like the second one wasn't as original as the first was, and it felt like it wanted to just be a platformer. The first one embraced the gravity mechanic a lot more, and it just had better atmosphere for me. Galaxy 2 was something I played in the background, but I've never had a game demand my attention like the first game did. Just my personal preference though, galaxy 2 was quite a lot of fun
Yes I’m four years late to this but I don’t care- Galaxy 2 actually started development because the Galaxy 1 team had so many ideas for the game that they felt they had to make it a sequel. I think Galaxy 2 originated as DLC or something for the first game. Just a little fun fact I found one day while interneting!
Super Mario Galaxy 2 has been my favorite game of all time ever since its release. A couple years ago I questioned if I was simply nostalgia blind, but i played through it again only to see that my assessment of the game’s quality has hardly changed. Galaxy 1 and Odyssey are both very close behind SMG2 in my opinion, but nothing will ever top just how brilliantly designed its levels are and how amazing its soundtrack is.
Super Mario 64 gave us an entire magical, wondrous, imaginative, beautiful world to explore. What an absolute triumph of a game. Forever in our hearts for the magic it gave us. We love you SM64

tbh I always have had a hard time picking one Galaxy game over the other. I've played both consecutively in the past and I've had great memories with both.
I give you props for showing off the GBA remakes of the Super Mario Advance series.
Nearly every RUclipsr puts aside the GBA remakes for the original, perhaps for good reasons, but mostly connected to their nostalgia.
The E-Reader levels were really what sold me into SMA4 back when it was released. I went out of my way for the E-Reader. But to see the levels actually MENTIONED FOR ONCE IN GODS LIFE. I'm pleased.

Your childhood statement about Mario 64 would be Mario 3 for me. I was already a teenager when 64 came out and didn't play it until 98.
Mario 3 was a game my late uncle john absolutely adored. Every time I went to visit, he'd be playing with my cousins. Although he died young about 23 years ago (I think today) I will always see my him when I play this game, and when I show it to my young nephew.
I have more love for Galaxy 1 because it gives more intimacy between player and game. It had so many quiet, lonely moments. I feel like the second one wasn't as original as the first was, and it felt like it wanted to just be a platformer. The first one embraced the gravity mechanic a lot more, and it just had better atmosphere for me. Galaxy 2 was something I played in the background, but I've never had a game demand my attention like the first game did. Just my personal preference though, galaxy 2 was quite a lot of fun
Yes I’m four years late to this but I don’t care- Galaxy 2 actually started development because the Galaxy 1 team had so many ideas for the game that they felt they had to make it a sequel. I think Galaxy 2 originated as DLC or something for the first game. Just a little fun fact I found one day while interneting!

Super Mario Galaxy 2 has been my favorite game of all time ever since its release. A couple years ago I questioned if I was simply nostalgia blind, but i played through it again only to see that my assessment of the game’s quality has hardly changed. Galaxy 1 and Odyssey are both very close behind SMG2 in my opinion, but nothing will ever top just how brilliantly designed its levels are and how amazing its soundtrack is.
Honestly, you gotta love the amount of editing this guy puts into this channel.
