This was really fun to watch. 🥰
*Request* : I'd love to see you repair a watch. I've heard you talk about it with so much love, the watches, and what they are exactly, and I'd love to see you actually do a watch repair. Or attempt one, that's the same to me. I'd love a camera on the inners of one, and to see how on earth one manages to take apart, fix, and put back together something that small, into a working condition! I'd go scared just looking at those tiny tiny tiny parts!!
So, very interested viewer here, and I wonder if you can just aim a static camera from above or something, when doing a watch repair. If you don't want to chat about it, that's fine too, if you need your focus on what you're doing. Just throw some music under and I'll still be watching with my eyes wide open 😃

You mentioned the Illinois Watch Company and my ears perked up! I went to high school across the street from the building that had housed the "Watch Company" as my elderly aunts would call it. One of them had been employed there in the early 20th Century. Mom still has a lady's watch from there.

The Maria Threresa "trade Thaler" was in use as hard currency in the Middle East right up until WWI, so there are a bunch around. I found a 1/2 Thaler once drilled as a watch fob; that's the only reason I know. Somebody's lucky coin was sold as a pendant on a necklace, and since the price was about 25% of the silver weight darned tootin' I bought it.

    • @charlesyoung7436

Those silver Maria Theresa thalers have been minted up to the present day with the 1780 date on them. They have about the same silver content as a US Morgan or Peace dollar (slightly less than .75 Troy oz). The one Alex found is an older one, though. BTW, those Egyptian coins may contain silver, but it could be under the pre-1968 Canadian .800 fine standard.

Hi Alex...my 9 year old Grandson would be over the moon for some of these coins, ie the two 125 Canada collector coin sets...my friend in Churchbridge, SK designed the image on the Loonie for this set of coins....he would also love the 1780 coin. At this time his oldest coin is a Canadian penny from the mid 1850s/1860s with Queen Victoria on it. He is on the Autism Spectrum, high functioning and very knowledgeable about Canadian coins...it just adtounds me what he knows...OMG! I would love to pm you to know if you would consider selling them to his Grandma to surprise him.

Silver coins are typically .999% silver. Some coins are 90% silver. Some American Kennedy half dollars are 40% silver (1965-1967) I believe. Sterling is not a good word to use to identify silver in coins. Sterling by definition is .925% silver. 😊
