He gave us all a sense of awe & pride @ a time in this country's life when it needed it so badly! And for that, I can only say: "THANK-YOU!" (Were that you could be around in our lives today!)
I was…watched all the races with my Dad so those moments were even more beautiful…what an incredible animal…he was so gorgeous inside and out!!! Thank You Big Red!!!!!!!!!💜💜💜💜💜
Horses are so noble & graceful, to begin with. Their beautiful movement while running awes me & makes me feel as though all is right with the world. Add to that Secretariat’s overdose of physical beauty & astonishing power… my God, he had it all!!!
I love the scene in the movie when it’s quiet and he suddenly comes around the bend full speed. I so wish I could have seen that live. There will be other fast horses, but none more than him..
Mrs. Penny consulted on the movie. The problem was cramming a life story of Secretariat, trainer, jokey, handler, many races, etc into a 2 hr movie. I wish Disney would've made the movie into 3 series.
The last photo of him in this video is awesome. One can really see that massive shoulder, neck and girth. That’s what they all breed for…that perfection and Secretariat had it all.

@@jm1657 The whole farm is just beyond gorgeous! The cemetery was amazing.. .Riva Ridge is very close to Secretariat's grave I put a penny on both their headstones and took many pictures. I was glad I didn't get to emotional we were in groups of 10. I did my crying before and after 😉 .

I was 15 when Secretariat won the Triple Crown. I watched the Kentucky Derby each year since 1970. In 1973 I followed him through the Triple Crown and am so happy to relive the memories.
Secretariat 's heart turned out to be 50% bigger than normal when he was autopsied after his death. That was why he could go so fast. He effectively had his own EPO system!
