Yes G, you are an absolutely amazing woman!!! I am quite a bit older than you, but I don’t think I could have ever catch up with you. Andrius picked out a wonderful wife. I was married for 50 years- I miss him terribly. We moved all over but never tried anything like you two are doing, so wonderful to watch you guys each week. By the way, loved Guffy swim. Thank you Paulette !!! We actually eating from garden for a month I think .. it's just so rewording and so much easier to live sustainable when it's summer time !!! That's why I want to do more preservation so we could eat veg during winter and spring :) But it comes with time and each year will be easier and it is nice to share it and get compliments like yours !!! Hey Lorraine :) Thank you for your lovely message once again !!! If you will do them cucumbers put more salt extra 2 more spoons as it wasn't salty enough ... They where lovely but need's eating in 2-3 days as then they get to sour !!! (but nice as well) it's just different way to eat them as I mention :) Or I slice fresh cucumbers put some onions salt and pepper and mix with sour cream .. or yogurt .. this is nice as well.
Yes I am very happy about them onions ... really surprised they that big ...
Guffy .... he just goes crazy when he sees water and he was so soft and when after that swim .. but he got grey again when he spend day back at home LOL

Yes chickens are lovely I do spend hour or more with them because it's nice and shady area there during the day and it here is nothing else to do ... so they getting used to me :) want to be Best friend to them ;) I don't like fishing but Andrus loves so he goes on his own which he super happy with it ;) takes time off from me you see ... Cha cha Roses are lovely you right .. need to give them some more food in autumn and pamper them again ... The lake could not be more beautiful and inviting. I can only imagine how wonderful it felt after so much hard work. Gi, the garden is outstanding, as I knew it would be. It’s certainly proving to be a slog to breakdown that huge stone! Goodness knows plenty would have given up by now! The vegetable garden is into full production by the looks of it. G, is there anything you can’t do? Mixing concrete one minute to giving us recipes to use up our cucumber harvest! You are indeed super woman! ❤

Great ideas running the water to keep the dust down and with cutting more, closer or tighter channels in the rock. It makes the jack hammering go quicker.

Good morning Bryan !!!! Well you just reading Andriaus minds !!! because when we tried cutting with water he said it was cutting so much better and deeper !!! he said why no one told him that before LOL So in a future if we will cut anything again that's what we will do :)
He went fishing for carps today .. but is other fish there .. I am sure he can tell you more about it when you will see him .. I don't really get fishing ... I just happy to eat it ... You moving this autumn yes?

@@portugalitis A long time ago when I had a full head of beautiful long hair, I worked in road/highway construction in different positions. For two of those years I worked as a ‘form setter’ rebuilding culverts and bridges. I spent a lot of time with large pneumatic jack hammers and quickly learned a lot of ways to make my job ‘easier’.
Yes, we will be coming over this autumn. I’ll communicate with you via messenger or WhatsApp when we get closer to that time rather than here on YT.

Ahh so it's like walking memory lanes (or how they say it ... ) Andrius just went there today to fish !!! he caught Boga and perch .. we going back there tomorrow as well .. it's 30 min from us so not that far !!! it's beautiful place .. remind us Lithuania .. as nature is very similar .. pine forest I mean ... and I was picking mushrooms last autumn there and will do again this year !!!

Hello, lovely hard slogging couple! That refeshing dip in the lake or reservoir was well deserved after all the cement mixing & pouring and rock gathering & throwing!
I hope you don't mind that i pkayed this vid several times to be able to make a comment that made sense, since i borrowed your energy to sanitize our floors of any remnant mildew or spores from winter condensation.
In San Francisco we have False Winter, Actual Winter, Winter of False Spring, and our typical Artic Summer. I feel sorry for first time visitors to SF in June, July, and August in their shorts, tank and crop tops, and sad sad flip flops excited to see the sights. Then at some point they scurry back to the shelter of their hotel rooms to escape the howling dread winds and threst of frost bite.
If you're coming to San Francisco, don't wear flowers in your hair... wear long pants, some time of light but warm jacket, socks & shoes.
But i digress.
Yes, i replayed your video to pace myself: floor sanitation - done; reorganizing kitchen items - in progress; re-emptying of livingroom - in progress. Now i'm stopping for a make-do lunch at 3:40pm.
I have to admire a man and lady who can switch from rock-cement-boulder work to making pickles, micing up organic fertilizer for the garden, harvesting onions, and finding clever & pleasing new camera angles.
You guys are the model of health and safety in your PPE 👷🏻♀️👷🏻♂️🥽🥾🧤🙉, i LOVE it. You're smashing safety like boulders! Heh?? see what i did there? 😎

Very nice to know you watched us from beginning you deserved a medal sticking with us crazy people ;) If I would be honest we don't have budged to buy new equipment and I doubt it they sell them in here .. I didn't seen in shops .. they don't rent stuff here as well it's not so easy to rent as in UK ..(where we done that before) it's a bit different here :) But saying that we nearly done crushing that rock ... So many people said we should use dynamite or expanding stuff as well but We wouldn't even know where to get that from ... and we will stick what we know maybe safer that way .. Deidre, did anyone ever tell you that you have great legs? I bet people have told you your whole life. You look amazing! Good job guys. Loving the progress. And, OMG, the most perfect swim after a hard day. Also, with the onions, once you have got them dried, you should be able to keep them in a cool, dry place. If not, pickle them.

You guys are very hard working people, well done. What do you mean that onions are not suitable? You know that you need to hang them in a shade and let them dry, with the leaves on , before you start consuming them ? There is plenty of RUclips videos showing how to do it . Keep up the good work, and thanks for sharing your videos.
Hello :) I meant them onions won' t last for months ... as they are for quick consumption .. people here plant them in winter and eating them during the summer ... I also planted onions this spring which I will be able to store as they are different type ... @@portugalitis Yes I understand now . I'm Portuguese but living in the UK , so I know . I plant some onions here , but I never very lucky, only with potatoes and Beans, also tomato and peppers. Take care guys.
I wasn't lucky with onions in UK either ... maybe try to plant them under black plastic sheets? so it will will warm and no weeds? As I think that's what I will do for winter onions next time I plant them ... I am not lucky with beans or peppers .. so you see we all got Mais or minus ;) Gxx we can't be perfect everywhere !!!

Yes there’s also these things called feather n wedge or something. I saw Kirstie from Portugal From Scratch use them. You drill a hole in the rock and insert these wedges. I can’t remember if you twist them or if you hammer them but the series of holes make a fracture in the rock.
:) Yes we got that and used it for other rocks we had ... This one is easier to break this way unfortunately and when you have power tools you better use it ;) If we will decide to crack that big rock we will use expanding concrete which so many people said to use !!! :) Thank you for watching us :) And I do watch Kirstie's channel she done such a nice wall in her house by the log burner I loved it !!! oh and her dad is true Scotsman so funny !!! We do need to water I am afraid ..takes time but Tomatoes and the rest of my garden loves the sun and warm nights it's thriving :) Andrius going to try to catch some carp today but they are very clever in here ... don't like to be caught ... Guffy is happy dog when he in water .. and with life west because he can float like that for hours :) G

That big rock, why dont you use smaller rocks to build the sides up and make a raised herb bed, would be lovely right out side the house, just an idea 👍💫

G, you can slice and dry those onions in the sun, then powder them up for onion powder. Just one way to store them. :)

Andrius, you are doing a great job braking up the rock. It will make a big difference to the patio area. Gierdre, nice job on the video. Love the Guinea hens hiding, and wanting not to be in the picture! Your pointing is very good, the wall is starting to looked very nice. I am envious of your cucumbers, mine are very, very tiny. I am also using organic fertilizer that I make from comfrey but I have just started using it and I am seeing some improvement.
Thank you for your kind words !!! Cucumbers are very needy plants I think .. they like water and moisture ... Try to put east water and a bit of charcoal like I done at the beginning .. I done second time few weeks ago as I don't think they good as they could be .. next year will plant less of them ... As they definitely need food when they grow. I do like pointing and maybe because I can see difference straight away not like never ending crushing rock LOL we done more digging and more crushing this morning .. and tomorrow we will work on making wall in that corner .. today I was already thinking do we really need this patio??? It will be worth gold as it's a hard job ;)
I adore Guinea hens they so cute !!! yesterday I let them out for first time ohh my .. they run like whiled I could not keep up with them because I didn't want to leave my eys site !!! this morning when I let them all for morning run they where better ... but still they are SUPER fast :)
@@portugalitis True they are fast, and keeping up with them will be a challenge, perhaps a leash is in order! And yes I remember you used yeast and i will be doing that this week as well. Apparently it is good for more than just cucumbers so I will try it on my beans. The patio is going to be a great place to have, it will have a roof over it and it will allow you some shelter from the sun when you want to just enjoy being outside and relaxing! But first you need to “get cracking” on that rock, LOL!
This evening they been so much better !!! stayed with chickens almost all the time ;)

Boa noite meu caro senhor Andrew e Gi outro vidio muito interessante o pátio ja a tomar forma nunca pensei que houvesse pedras nao fazia ideia nao conheço o centro de Portugal agora comprendo porque há milhares casas de pedras as pessoas utilizavam a pedra para fazer as suas casas. A Gi e o senhor Andrew continuam a trabalhar duro só tenho medo que tenham mais tarde dores nas costas é preciso tambem descansar. Foi uma optima ideia irem com o seu cãozinho nadar depois de tanto calor sabe muito bem nadar. Apesar de tanto trabalho estao sempre de bom humor admiro muito os meus amigos têm muita persistência e se Deus quiser vao ter uma uma casa eu sei que ainda demora o senhor Andrew precisava de algumas pessoas ajudar eu vejo alguns vidios de ingleses e holandeses que as vezes têm voluntários eu sei que ja aí estiveram uns rapazes muito simpáticos ajudar mas devia haver mais. Resta-me desejar uma boa semana para os meus queridos amigos que eu vou continuar a ver pois gosto muito do senhor Andrew e da Gi sao um casal tao adoravel

Thank you for another wonderful comment !!! you spoiling us as usual :) we work during the morning for 3-4 hours and then take rest so we ok :) And yes that patio is taking shape .. so good we dug that last year as well as if we would of started doing it now it would take us month to do it as we had so many big rocks there !!! Guffy loves his swim .. so do we ;) It's a nice relaxing place not far from us and water is crystal clear so we are very lucky !!!

Hi Caroll yes we will do ring beam and so far we don't have plans to go higher it will take more time and more man power and we don't really need that hight oh and I just realised new kitchen hight is the same as barn so no more hights :) G it's good as it is !!!!

still looks like you are using to much concrete. Dry fill as much as possible then if you must use 1 sack concrete to fill it is soft enough to dig if needed and strong enough to bind the rocks together, top with 3 sack concrete to finish or mix mortar and set a stone patio. I just hate to see you wasting so much money on concrete when it is not necessary. great project. 1 sack concrete give it a test
