Hey man love your videos, recently discovered your channel and you provide some solid tips. I am a painter myself from Edmonton,AB this year im venturing into the job market myself, used to work for people and im done with that. I was wondering if you will ever do videos like marketting, how to do estimates, how much you charge etc.
Hey fellow painter, thanks for the comment. I have been recently thinking of doing something like that, showing roughly what a job costs like material and labor broken down. And your comment has now made me think i really should do something like that. Are you going to have employees? Or just start out by yourself? I have never had employees and I just do everything myself. Are you thinking more residential or commercial?
@@TheCanadianHomePainter I am thinking just myself. I'm not looking to be a millionaire. I just want to do what I love and still live life. I don't want to live by anyone else schedule but mine. I will be focusing on just residential. I love working alone, I am an introvert hehehe. Usually have my headphones on while painting, listening music, books, or podcasts.
@@EmReCanadien to be honest you sound exactly like me. You will love it and the money isn't bad either. I use to always be alone which obviously things have changed and now depending on how things are, parents at home working and kids at home doing school. But I have done this for over 15 years and most of them I wad just on my own, set my own hours. Once you get a handful of clients under your belt then the ball will get rolling. Word of mouth is the best and cheapest advertising. I spent about 500 a year now a days just for some basic stuff. But I don't even need it anymore. I do residential too. I have done commercial in the past and I prefer just working direct for the home owner. Best of luck. Don't get discouraged it will take a good couple years to get established but after that you will be rolling literally lol
Your video answered my question about covering up color of drywall
