  • Join us as we travel up to Vancouver and explore Capilano Suspension Bridge Park, Stanley Park, and more before embarking on our 7-night cruise aboard the Disney Wonder out of Vancouver, CA to the South Sawyer Glacier, Skagway, Juneau, and Ketchikan, Alaska!
    It's finally here, the moment we've been waiting for: the beginning of our Alaska cruise! We have a day in Vancouver planned before embarkation though, so after a long day of travel, we'll start out the adventures by heading over to Capilano Suspension Bridge Park. This park is absolutely gorgeous and features a Cliffwalk, Treetops Adventure, wildlife, and - of course - an awesome Suspension Bridge! After a few hours here, we head back to the city to take a stroll over to Stanley Park, where we soak up the sights and admire the totem poles there. Then it's back to our hotel to get ready for tomorrow - but not before a sweet treat to end the night!
    Next up is Embarkation Day, where we'll head out from Canada Place and begin our epic adventure up to Alaska. We have so many fun adventures and excursions that you won't want to miss, so subscribe if you'd like to wend and wander along with us!

      Aw, thank you so much for tuning in!! 🥰 We 100% agree that the Alaska cruise was unlike anything we've done so far and I hope we're able to do it justice!

      Funny enough, we've come across multiple pairs of dogs who have been named after those two cities too!

      We will 100% be back soon because we're already dying to go back to Alaska! And the next trip, we'll hopefully have more time to explore Vancouver because there's still so much we need to see!

    That treetop walk was amazing! I have a height phobia so could never do it myself, but your views were perfect. Thank you.

    • @WendandWander
      @WendandWander  11 месяцев назад +1

      It really was such a beautiful area! If you can make it across the suspension bridge, they have a beautiful boardwalk that's *not* in the treetops (but we know that's probably a big if!). Either way, glad you were able to enjoy the views in some capacity 😊

    I think that we were the Alaska cruise the week after yours. We rented e-bikes to explore Stanley Park. Like you say in your video, the park is huge, so the e-bikes were a great way to explore the park and see everything. I'm enjoying reliving our trip through your videos.

      That's our plan the next time we visit Stanley Park! We didn't realize how big it is, or else we would have planned to do that from the get go 😅

    FYI: the whole seawall perimeter walk of Stanley Park, without doing any one shortcut through the park, is just shy of 7 miles.

    You can always go on the Gondola up the mountain right beside this place if you have difficulty walking , you will go up over 4000 feet and over look the city

    Hello! We went in May 2019. Had an amazing time. Bucket list trip. Stayed in Deck 1 Mid inside cabin. Easy access to upper deck for outside views.
    Highly recommend Capilano Bridge go early AM. Did Skagway bus up Rail down so beautiful. Whale watching in Jasper. Lumberjack show Ketchican. I would do this cruise again in a heartbeat.

      Ah, that sounds amazing! So happy to hear you were able to check something off your bucket list 😊 We've always wondered what it's like staying on Deck 1! You'll have to see the adventure we had in Skagway once that video is up haha it was... not what we were expecting to say the least 🤣 if we were to do another Alaska cruise in the future, we definitely plan to do a whale watching trip!

    Thank you for sharing your walk around Capilano Suspension Bridge Park - I didn’t know about it but now that I do it is definitely on my list of places to visit when I get to Vancouver - I especially appreciate seeing that I will manage the bridge and probably the tree-top walk (both with one hand holding on to the rail) but I won’t be attempting the cliff walk (heights are not my strength!). I’m looking forward to the rest of your videos :-)

    Capilano Bridge is in North Vancouver. Vancouver Island is an island that requires a ferry. North Vancouver is actually it's own city and not part of Vancouver officially.

      North Van is the District of North Vancouver. Not a city

    My gosh this is a good video ! We stayed at Pan Pacific at Cruise Terminal . We did that walk from Hotel . Big time steps . Love Vancouver . Going back next year for another Alaska Cruise and going to go up Grouse Mountain gondola . It’s close to where you were suspension bridge is at .

      Thank you so much for the kind comment! We would love to go on another Alaska cruise in 2025 and we would love to stay at the Pan Pacific, it was much closer than where we were staying 😂

    • @rickinnes
      @rickinnes Месяц назад

      Tip - if you plan to stay at Pan Pacific then book real early as it sells out .
      If you can , try to get Coal Harbour view . Fabulous view and if up early then you can watch the cruise ships return and dock .
      The hotel will pick up your bags in the morning and take down to cruise baggage check in . Make sure you have luggage tags on.
      If in early enough 3-5 pm the day before , go out and watch the ships leave . You know your turn is tomorrow.

    Capilano is in Vancouver , the shuttle is just downtown. And not near Vancouver Island. And North Vancouver is a part of Metro Vancouver. It is a district of Vancouver, not its own city as someone else stated. North, South, East , West.
