We are back in Flora's hometown, Vancouver! The last time we visited was over 7 years ago so we're curious to see how Vancouver is now and if it is still our favourite city in Canada. Vancouver is the most livable and beautiful city to live as long as we can afford to live there.
It can't be livable if you can't find housing and when you do it costs more than half your salary. Vancouver used to be a nice city twenty plus years ago but it's sunk into a place where everything revolves around people being obsessed with the value of real estate.
Rain in Vancouver you’ll have two options pay rent or eat if the sacrifice one or the other it doesn’t matter if you have a Well, paying job or not And construction. That takes forever. Welcome to Vancouver.

That is a beautiful beach in Vancouver in my opinion. Also Vancouver is 43 percent Asian. The people in Vancouver are nice as well. Flora and Note it made my day to see you both do a Vancouver tour in this Canada series. You both are the best.

I can see why people say Canadians are nice people, in Melbourne the ratio of Asians is like 10% or so and people start to complain that Melbourne has become sub state of China

Awww you guys really made me miss home! Love living in Thailand too but Van always in my heart. Hope you can get up Grouse Mtn (or Seymour, or Cypress) and Lynn Canyon, Queen E Park, Van Dusen Gardens, Lonsdale Quay, Indian Arm, fish n chips at White Rock, could go on and on... Enjoy!
We didn't know you're from Vancouver too! I feel the same.. I love living in Thailand but Vancouver has a special place in my heart. We basically drove around the city visiting familiar places and eating comfort food 😄

i lived in vancouver from 2005-2009 and went back for the first time last year and it was just as amazing as i remember it. i wish i could afford to live there.
Welcome back to Vancouver Canada. I have heard outstanding things, specially Chinatown. Absolutely loved the magic trick and boat. Food hall looked yummy. Absolutely love clam chowder. Yum doughnuts. The night market looked packed and excellent. Delicious lamb. Absolutely Loved Every Minute

I grew up taking the false creek ferry to granville island for a special fam day too…or a visit to lonsdale quay. Would love to spend a weekend staying in Van + doing this with my 3 kids but the prices really add up with 5 of us 😂. We are budget travellers so we are going to kuala Lumpur + Koh lipe + Lombok. I can see why you’ve left Canada. I will always call it home + do appreciate its beauty….we live on Vancouver Island now + are so grateful to travel to new destinations where it’s so much more affordable to eat + stay.

Thanks for following our Canada series! Vancouver is so beautiful but probably the most expensive in terms of accommodation. That's one of the reasons why we didn't stay longer to explore more this time.
That chicken pot pie looks great! It´s true that the fresh fruits and vegetables at a lot of these covered markets in many big cities around the world look amazing, but tend to be quite expensive.

Flora & Note! You two are precious! We have to connect when I come on my next business trip to Thailand. - anyone ever notice a trend…. Flora..Everytime you try some food you like after Note… you almost always take it over and then Note has to say “you going to save the last bite for me??” Followed by flora: “lol. I wasn’t going to. You want some?” Followed by Note “yes. Of course I want some.” And flora always gets the dish 2/3 the size and if she really likes it… she just assumes the rest is hers 😂😂😂

East Hastings is a cesspool of filth, disease and the walking dead.Chinatown is a shadow of its former self as most Chinese and the stores and restaurants are now in Richmond.

Not anytime in the near future because it's not a great hub for traveling and it's quite expensive to base there. But we're happy to come back to visit family and friends, even though they'd rather come visit us in Thailand 😄
Great job of showing some of the highlights of Vancouver. When you were looking at the berries at the market, I was thinking you could get such a better deal if you drove out into the Fraser Valley, where the berries are grown.
You don't need to go that far. Just drive 10 minutes to east Van and you'll find everything much cheaper. The fruit stalls at Granville island are a rip off and the women that work there are usually sullen.

I prefer sunny Calgary to grey Vancouver in winter. Instead of buying local produce at Granville Island, which is mainly for tourists, you can u-pick blueberries in Richmond, Surrey, or Langley.
The produce stalls at Granville are there to rip off tourists that don't know any better.
Preferring Calgary to anywhere because of weather is like choosing to eat broken glass instead of an apple. Calgary has some of the most unpredictable horrendous weather of any city I've been to. You do get sun, yes, you also get hail, massive storms, arctic winds, and incredible temperature swings unpredictability from hour to hour.

Note’s reaction same as mine lol. 😂 ive several friends living in Vancouver and always wish to visit. So beautiful! Flora, while growing up there did you hike any of the wilderness or trails? If so, will you do it while there? What dish or food is considered a local treat one MUST try? Other than (bad spelling? Poutain?!?! Im so sorry for butchering! We've done a few hikes in Vancouver but not quite enough time on this trip. I think fish and chips at Steveston is a must try along with White Spot legendary burgers and milkshake!

I don’t think that that Sushi is an authentic Japanese food because it looks like Sushi on Mexican Tacos.
But, I think Taiyaki seems to be authentic. I strongly believe you can eat an awesome Taiyaki less than 1/3 price in Japan. Now you are in Japan. So, enjoy authentic Japanese cuisine including your beloved Taiyaki. (^_^)

You will enjoy Barrie Ontario. It is a waterfront community with nice beaches, hiking trails, restaurants, festivals etc. You will, also, only be about an hour's drive to the north end of Toronto as well.

Welcome back to Vancouver. You guys make a good choice moving to Thailand. Vancouver is becoming unlivable. Everything is expensive and the crime rate is rising just like the price of groceries. That's why I stay most of my time in Chiang Mai and only back here in summer. I love Thailand.

Most of Vancouver is pretty amazing but the homelessness, drug addiction and housing crisis are real.
You should show the centre Hasting street ! Thousands of drug addict ,dirt ,Holmes , smell the true Vancouver
One street does not represent “the true Vancouver”. You’re part of the problem.
Every city has good or bad. Despite all this issue, Vancouver is still the best place to live and enjoy .

Right off the bat wrong, kit's beach is not the nicest beach in Vancouver thst would be Wreck beach, no city interference!
Vancouver is not the best city in Canada ... a lot of issues about crimes ( highest in Canada, Surrey ), homless, drugs , people get killed in the subway and on the streets ,50 % asian and do not define Canada .. it rains 8 months per year , speak only one official language of Canada , has no historical and architectural places.... People in Vancouver has no idea about the history of Canada from the past 500 years , does not speak the 2 official languages ,,, the culture of Vancouver is a USA culture and asian ( China and India )..... I find people of VAncouver egocentric , no knledge about Canada and they think they have the best city with crimse, homeless, drugs and rain.
