Really appreciate your content on Ricardo Wave, helps a lot!
Thanks! I appreciate the support 🙏🏻
Thank you for your nice video series. How can we draw CO2 graph at Ricardo Wave?
Great work. Which version is this?
Thank you. It is the 2019.1 version. What version are you using?
helllo, great work sir. i'm currently working on hydrogen ic engine. actually i couldn't find this tutorial files. can you please help me where can i find?
Thanks for the comment. The tutorial files are usually in the Ricardo WAVE folder in Program Files.
Hello, I was stuck in the wave post results. How do i add the data from another run to the current run. I tried using the method mentioned in another comment but it is not accessible to add another run data. Also how do I enable to more sweep plots as seen at 4:21 to the left of the screen below the sweep plots tree .
So for every run you do a .post file is generated which has all your run’s data. In order to plot multiple runs you need to:
1. Run your first simulation
2. Rename the post file to something other than its current name
3. Run your second simulation where you made the necessary changes
4. Rename the newly generated post file
5. Repeat this until you have all the post files you need.
6. import them into WAVE post
7. Now you can overlay the data on one graph
If you don’t rename them, WAVE will overwrite the old post file with the new one
HI super explanation, I am trying to plot graph for Nox and every time it comes as a St. line can you tell where I am going wrong?
Hi Nikhil. I just want to make sure I understand correctly: do you want the values of NOx when it is above a certain value? You might be able to do it with an if statement block?
Hi, I am trying to compare emissions trend for different ethanol blends. So, as you explained I added NO as a passive scaler and activated emission model for the same.
However when I am trying to plot graphs NOX VS BMEP or torque, I get straight line showing value as zero.
Hi Adrian Van Niekerk
I would like to congratulate the tutorial and explanations on the Ricardo Wave software. Please, could you provide the example "simulate an engine using biodiesel" in the extension (.wvmx). I'm a student and enthusiastic about the software, it would help a lot. Thanks
Thanks! I will upload my files and share the link when it is finished👍🏻
@@AdriaanVanNiekerk Thanks for the feedback!
I sent a message to your Instagram. When you can provide the link to the Ricardo Wave file of this engine, I will be very grateful. You can also send it by email, I left it on your Instagram. It will be very useful for my study, as I have some doubts and you explain very well!
What should we write in the fuel file(B80)?
Have a look at another video of mine:

Hello Sir,
Great videos I like your content ... there aren't much resources to learn Ricardo from ,your content is very well explained !!!
Sir i was struggling plotting the graphs .. i plotted graphs as you have shown in video but my graph just shows a single point ... and i want to compare the graphs of engine with Diesel and same engine run on Biodiesel as you have done ..i wanted to compare the results.
Your advice would be very useful for me .
I got the plots right ...But right now cannot get the result graph of Blended Biodiesel and Diesel in single graph
Hi! Thanks for the comment! If it was just one point check if you have run more than you one case? You need to run different cases (with different RPM values for example) to get a line graph
You need to add the results from the blended fuel's run to the run of the diesel fuel. So if you go to about 4:19 you will see the graph window. There is an option "add" at the top. If you click it, you can select "WAVE data" and then select the other run's file and it will be added to the plot.
@@AdriaanVanNiekerk Got it Sir Thank you ... one more doubt how to add varying loads to get plot of Load vs. NOx
@@bhushantayde5762 that depends. What injectors are you using? If it is an AFR one, then you need to restrict the inlet airflow which will result in less fuel being injected which will reduce the load generated.
Please what is the biodiesel specification that is needed to be added as fuel
There is a biodiesel fuel file provided with WAVE. It is called FAME
Great Explaination
I would like to make a fuel file for BioDiesel made from vegetable oils.
Please guide??
more specifically a B20
@@bharatdogra2690 I am releasing a video this Tuesday showing you how to do this👍🏻 unfortuantely Ricardo WAVE has only one biodiesel data file. I think they have averaged all the feedstock’s properties together and made one file. So you cannot specify a feedstock for you biodiesel...
@@AdriaanVanNiekerk Can we create the file by using the method, specified in your websit??
Kindly aLso guide me in generating the graphs directly from Ricardo.
Regards
@@bharatdogra2690 yes you can. 👍🏻
hello sir,may i get the one for diesel+syngas
And the setup too please
I will put it on my list 👌🏻
@@AdriaanVanNiekerk OK, I will highly appreciate
Have you done so,Sir?
can u please send me the four cylinder engine ricardo file used in this video
Do we have to make the engine or is it available in the software???
Sure! Can you send me your email? You can send me a DM either on Twitter or Instagram with your info. My handle is @asvn90
@@AdriaanVanNiekerk i have texted u on Instagram please kindly check it
@@AdriaanVanNiekerk hello i've sent you a dm regarding this thing too i hope you can check it soon
@@minnieku Will check it when I can 👍
@@AdriaanVanNiekerk Hi, i also sent you an Instagram dm regarding this file, Con you please have a look. Also is it possible for you to explain how to plot results of various fuel types on the same graph? There isn't much information about this online. Thanks
Hey I was wondering if you could send me this file you used in this video. Or tell me how to access the tutorial files in Ricardo wave? I'm using Wave 2022 are the files available on this version?
Unfortunately I do think have them any more. The tutorial files should be under Ricardo WAVE’s program files on your C drive
I'm using my university's computer and I have searched high and low for the tutorial files but can't find them anywhere @@AdriaanVanNiekerk
@@AdriaanVanNiekerk I'm using my university's computer and nothing is showing up in the C drive. Is there any other way to access these files?
@@worldofanime4219 that is a problem - It might be worth while to ask your university's IT department to help? Unfortunately I do not know of another way to get the files.
@@AdriaanVanNiekerk unfortunately they were no help at all. I’m trying to model a 4-cylinder internal combustion engine based on the E888 engine for my dissertation. I need three simulations one for a gasoline fuel and one for an Ethanol-gasoline mix and a Methanol-gasoline mix. I’m struggling to make the model as it’s my first time using the software. Do you think you might be able to help at all?
Can you please explain how to create a fuel file?
Hi Praneeth. I will try and get a guide on my website. I will share the link with you as soon as it is online.
@@AdriaanVanNiekerk....Can you please upload the guide to create a fuel file?
@@uroojahmad7364 Sorry for the delay. You can find a guide here: www.adriaansblog.com/post/create-fuel-file/
@@uroojahmad7364 I have just uploaded a video to show you how to create a custom fuel file if you want to go have a look: ruclips.net/video/cA7NUHGFKxc/видео.html
What is the function of Y-junction?
To add multiple ducts together. This is useful for intake manifolds going from one duct to many as well as for when a exhaust manifold goes from many to one duct. You can also specify the orientation of the connections which helps with accurate pressure loss calculations 💪🏻
@@AdriaanVanNiekerk Noted. Thanks alot
