How The RICH Live in CHINA (LUXURIOUS AREA) 🇨🇳

- I wanted to show you guys how impressive and beautiful this area in Shanghai is, because I could tell that it's an area for the wealthier individuals of Shanghai. The most expensive luxury brands, world-class restaurants, well-dressed residents, they're all here. But I didn't get the sense that it was flashy. What do you think about this area?

I really like the way you don't take anything for granted and always asking in a humble and considerate way. Such a good vibe. Really enjoying your China videos.
Thank you so much 🙏🏼
Speaking of rich people being humble, the lady who worked at the coffe kiosk was hmble, and polite. We were taught, when we were kids, that we should always use both hands when we hand something to other people. She used both hands when she gave you the receipt.
I love that❤️
I don't think she is rich....but surely she processed a good business attitude, respect your customer !
Very beautiful and clean.. not what the Westen media portrays at all.. we have been lied to.
It’s honestly something else
I can’t wait to be back in Shanghai
oh, you should wait and hear about the reports on how there are so many big companies in China who are violating labor using machines LOL they said China is enslaving their people even though big companies like productions sectors are all using machines, but America think these machines are humans.
traditional media is under control by "some" people😂
If they lie which they do, it means they have an agenda and something to hide !
Do you know why
been lied to?
Google this. Congress proposes 500 millions to the media to cover negative reports about China.
3:38 - I appreciate how the lady respectfully uses both hands to present the receipt to the customer. This gesture embodies true human rights, showing respect and consideration for others.
You are spot on! Great gesture 🙏🏻

You are one of few Westerners I know on RUclips who's extremely polite, calm, considerate, fair, would spend sometime to do a little bit research and explain everything in a pure non-politically correct way, I used to watch some big RUclipsrs came to China with titles like I am blocked by Chinese governments, I am under 24/7 surveillance of CCP, and just go to those places which can strenthen their stereotype of China by addicting to Western media. I consider myself as a global citizen, I think it's very important to look at the world from different perspectives, especially when you are travelling to some places which you are not familiar with, down to earth and think and listen to different voices. I learned a lot from your angle of interpreting things. thank you so much.
Thank you so much for your kind words🙏🏻

15:00 The duck is called "call duck" Chinese name "科尔鸭". It's a special kind of pet duck origined from Holland. Very popular amongst city white collars.
Wow. I was pretty amazed haha
The Xintiandi area (新天地) was formerly just a crappy residential area. But a fun fact to point out is that the Chinese Communist Party was founded in a small house near this area.
I actually found out after walking through the area.
My next video will be a museum tour.
@@KouroshKamyabi Nice videos so far! I am actually from a town called Jiaxing just 100km south to Shanghai. The CCP first began their meeting discussing the foundation of their party in Xintiandi area and was later disturbed by some police from the French concession. And then they decided to move to Jiaxing (my city) to continue their meeting and eventually announced the founding of the CCP on a boat in Jiaxing. BTW, I also live in Toronto haha
it is CPC, communist party of China. Many foreign nationals were members of CPC .. Europeans, Americans, Canadians…such as Sidney Rittenberg .
Well it's better to use CPC instead of CCP. CCP is just from the anti-China propaganda.

How come I don’t see any garbage on the streets? With so many people walking, there should be a lot of garbage. What else that I don’t see is garbage cans and graffiti. What do people do with their trash? In u.s, one would see trash on the streets, even in early mornings. Graffiti everywhere even in rich neighborhoods. WOW! What a big difference!!
You’re right. That’s another thing that amazed me too. Especially considering their massive population.
破窗效应,越是干净人们越会自觉,越是脏乱差,人们就越会乱丢。
If there is no trash can nearby, we take the trash home.
@@kevinrich5222
That’s what I thought. In the u.s, if there’s no trash can nearby, people just dump their garbage on the street or leave them at someone’s doorway. People would rather dump their half eaten take out food on the streets than to give to the homeless people.
1 People are more civilized than before, they don’t dump trash everywhere.
2 There are convenient trash cans in public area.
3 There are lots of clean workers doing a good job for this.
Thank you for answering my call for showing us Tim Horton in China. As always, enjoyed your videos very much. I was told Shanghai has more than one area where people shop for world-class luxury brand name products. Expecting more from you. 👍👍👍
Here in Shanghai Tim Hortons are everywhere. But Chinese people love espresso and latte more than filtered coffee, I think that’s why the blogger could only get Americano at the coffee kiosk.
Vancouver has to learn from Shanghai how to make proper bike lanes... but that would be a national security threat
Bicycle used to be the main transport in Chinese cities, so that's a necessity, not something "eco" or "leisure" or "sports".

Go to west Nanjing Road, towards the Kerry Centre. Real high end stuffs there. Walk from the people square all the way there. You should discover more interesting places.
The place you were in is Xin-Tian-Di 新天地 in Shanghai. It is a very historical district in Shanghai, where many of the buildings were either built by the French when they colonized the city or in the later era. The beautiful Starbucks is a building with Shi-Ku-Men 石库门 style, a popular style during 1910-20ish. Even though most areas are either heavily renovated or removed, you can still feel the rich sense of history.
Nice, makes me want to visit Shanghai (never been to China).
I’m sure you will have a blast 🙏🏻
Looks much cleaner and safer than any city in the US contrary to what we see in the media...
Beautiful city
It really is!
I like Tims coffee. Their fresh coffee with two parts milk and one part sugar is my favorite. You can go to the Tims coffee shop on the roadside. It is indeed as you said. There is a display cabinet showing bagels and other foods, and the variety of coffee is much more than the variety of subway stations. And you mentioned that the taste is different. I agree. There are three Tims coffee shops near my home. The taste of each one is a little different, even if it is the same coffee. I thought it was a technical problem, but you said so from Canada, so it must be their corporate culture.😂🤣
Wow, after your video, I love to visit Shanghai and more of China. We are from Vancouver, BC. crimes and drugs are everywhere... hospitals filled with drug addicts. Robberies in restaurants... RCMP told us just to hand over car keys and claim insurance if car is being robbed from us... I don't feel safe living here anymore. So stressed out as a retiring senior!
Oh man, you have the most diverse videos snd and ive decided to watch again tomorrow, definitely eye opening
In Hangzhou, another city not far from Shanghai, pedestrians are king. Cars actively give way to pedestrians, which is the civilized standard of this city. Sometimes pedestrians will give way to drivers when crossing the road. The civilization cultivated by the Chinese government is the civilization that all mankind should have. Hangzhou is a very beautiful city with mountains and rivers, and it is also one of the richest cities in China. You can really go and experience it.
Very nice and amazing visit.
Thank you 🙏🏻
0:26 I used to work at that building, platinum tower where they hosted Ferrari store on the first floor. You can spot endless supercars at night around Xintiandi areas.

12:22 As a previous smoker I can tell you why. Cigarettes are way too expensive in the States. Here a working class pack of smoke costs from 5 to 25 RMB. In the States it was like more than 7 dollars by the time I left.
Not to mention the cigarettes in China are way better, the more expensive ones of course. But overall I think smokers in China are decreasing as more and more young people know how bad it is to one's health.

To the Chinese people, their freedom, democracy and human rights are that Chinese families with young children and elderly alike can enjoy freely and safely in public spaces in both mega cities or rural villages in China. With government support, they have rights of access to affordable and decent healthcare, food, water, transport and education, housing as well as other public amenities and social services. Clearly, such freedom, human rights and democracy cannot be seen in the US and many Western countries.
Thank you my friend.

The price of very high-end cars like Ferrari, McLaren, Rolls Royce etc. are about 4X the price of the US and Canada. There around 2x to 3x in Australia depending on how high end you go. What you need to remember something like a Porsche SUV or Mercedes E-class its cheaper in China as they are locally made. There is more to explore around there but you just need a local to show you around.
Shanghai is more kinda the exception to the rule. If you go to lower tier cities in China, people will be quite loud in public and you'll find more people showing off their wealth, etc. However, you're right that in general, most people in China are pretty humble and down to earth.

talking about the Tims coffee…really want to let u guys know that u can get a set of Large (flavored) americano ➕ a bagel with only 29.9 RMB or even less with some e-tailor coupon.
Shanghai appears quite beautiful and well-maintained, with streets adorned by numerous flowers. I noted the polite way the service worker at Tims coffee stand handed you the receipt with both hands. That is unseen in the US. Good manners have disappeared in the US decades ago. You mentioned that people in affluent districts seem humble, but could it be due to government regulations discouraging flaunting of wealth? Additionally, I observed that the Chinese are bad dressers (much like yourself), even when entering rich areas. The Chinese are not used to luxury, fashion, and style, I suppose.
It's amazing that you visited China's major cities, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I'm Greg from New York City, with a BS in evolutionary biology focused on human genetics. You find Chinese people evolving favorably, showing strength in health, adaptability, and success. Their success stems from homogeneity, allowing them to excel as intended by natural selection. Pure populations seem to adapt better to change compared to mixed populations. Your admiration for China's cultural stewardship and evolutionary progress is profound. Their advancement showcases human evolution's beauty like classical music, giving hope for the future. Thanks for sharing your videos.

While there is some wealth accumulation in the special economic zones (Shanghai, Shenzhen, and others), it’s very minimal compared to the west and most of the country is still very accessible and affordable for the average Chinese citizen. In fact, Shanghai is one of the cities in China that pays more attention to external clothing. The most low-key rich people are Cantonese. From their appearance, you can't tell how much money they have. Maybe they'll be wearing vests and flip-flops worth tens of dollars. You might even think of him as a poor man, but maybe the next moment, he's pulling a wad of money out of a sack or getting into a Ferrari. This comparison is very interesting and is a relatively famous meme in China.
