@@baniarora6312hey, i’m a different person but i’ve just switched to an m1 max from a maxed 2019 i9 build and i’ve used migration assistant, some apps i’ve redownloaded as the native silicon version, but others are either not supported (so they are run with rosetta by default), or already silicon compatible. I would say if you have 200+ apps and 1000+ plugins for certain of your apps like me it’s definitely worth using migration assistant, even at the cost of some storage getting filled up by useless files. If you don’t need that many apps and/or have all of the installers (in my case i had lost some installers for old legacy plugins) then I’d recommend you do a clean install. Hope this helped!
This is a great video. I am a windows girl, but thinking about getting my first MacBook, and know nothing about them. I appreciate the detail you went to in the video. Thank you
Many thanks mate for the amount of time and passion you put into producing this very helpful "start up guide" from an Aussie/French living now in South of France, Cheers
Easy setup tutorial. Another personal favourite setup I like to do for the trackpad is the three-finger drag lock. It’s quite a hidden trick on the mac setting, but man it makes dragging items on the computer so much better! I’ve been using this trick since my first MacBook in 2010! To set it up, open system settings, choose accessibility on the left hand menu, scroll down to pointer control, click trackpad options, enable dragging with three fingers, and let it change your life!
I’m so happy that there is finally an Aussie creator setting this up. Everyone always has different plugs but it’s so reassuring seeing someone have an Aussie plug that I’m used too. New sub❤
Hey , you purchased this laptop 5 months ago. How's your experience been? Is it handling programming and software well? And tell me your laptop version
Wow! Who are you? I am currently contemplating a switch to Mac from Windows. This is the first self-education post I visited with many questions about deployment, migration, look, and clarity of the device. I rarely comment on RUclips unless this is warranted. I commend you highly for the structure and quality of your video tutorial. Well done!
Same, because I like this handsome guy voice, speaks very masculine and it’s the kind I understand English. Slow and fluently getting every each word. He is my❤and my teacher, jejejejej
Awesome video mate. Just bought mine yesterday and was a bit lost as to how to set it up … came across your video and boom … I am nailing it already. Cheers bud.
If you save everything to iCloud or an external TB4 drive it's quite easy just to ignore migration and just copy things back over. Excellent and very through setup guide, especially for first time Mac users! I should have had my wife watch this but guess the bonding time setting up her new MacBook was worth it :)
My first Apple computer although I do use Apple iPhone and iPad. I tried watching others but your explanation is better than others and it’s a bit late (California time) to set it up now but I’ll do that first thing in the morning. Thanks a million. 👍🙏
Very helpful I’ve got new MacBook on order and it’ll be my first, (though I have an ipad) so watching in advance so I’ll be ready to handle set up panic free. Thanks to your video I also changed my password now while I remember that I don’t know what it is, so I can avoid going through forgot my password on set up.
I bought a Mac book for school and i noticed a little scratch my mom said it’s not important and you saying to make sure it doesn’t have any marks or scratches makes me regret not returning it straight away since it’s been like 3-4 months now 😢
I just got my M3 Pro MacBook Pro and it was a breeze to set up. The “Touch I.D.” was easy to setup too. I just wish they would incorporate “Face I.D.”.
Great video. Just picked up my MacBook Air M3 and in the process of transferring data from my old (2015) MacBook Pro. It sure takes a lot of time, even with a Thunderbolt/Ethernet cable connection. Thanks.
Actually sitting here an an old Lenovo that takes about 3 seconds to scroll down to the next section of a page and there's lags EVERYWHERE waiting on my arrival today sso so excited!!!
I just bought the m3 MacBook Air and I paired my WH-1000XM4 Sony headphones and I’m having a 3-7 second echo/delay when I join someone’s livestream panel on RUclips. I don’t know what they problem can be! Do they need a firmware update?
The mouse wheel I actually prefer the way it comes. The reason is I am used to a mouse wheel. And with a mouse wheel if you spin the wheel 1 direction like forward so the wheel moves back to front... then if there were anything below that wheel the wheel would grip it and slide it down. Since a wheel inverts the direction the other side would move. I do not get why they do not call that natural because it 100% is natural according to physics itself. Like get a pencile with rubber on it.. hold the pencil steady and spin it.. the paper moves the opposite direction.. because thats how rotational force works. Furthermore take your finger and put it on the mouse wheel.. scroll it forward and keep your finger pointing that direction.. which way is it pointing? Up... pull it towards you and your now pointing down. So not only is it more natural in physics, but it's more natural to the direction your hand is pointing. I think calling it not narutal is not natural lol.
Hopefully a new M3 MacBook Air will arrive tomorrow. I intend to have it set up the same as my current M1 MacBook air. Therefore I'll use a Thunderbolt 3 or 4 cable (I have both) to connect the two computers for the highest available data transfer rate via Migration Assistant.
I skipped something (mitigation?) that said i could do later. I also can't find where to do that. I'm trying to get my emails to come to the email thing on the dock. Thanks for a very helpful video.

Now that's an actual useful tip. I wonder if it also works with the separate track pad slab that Apple sells.

3:32 even a cold appliance cable is sufficient to plug in the power brick. It’s a pretty genius design, that doesn’t require any adapter kits.
Fantastic video, thanks! Windows user here and used this to set up new Macbook - hugely helpful!
I love the way he treats us like complete idiots and proceeds to give us a guide on how to take the seal off a MacBook
Beautiful ambience and calm and composite explanations, no noise
Perfect timing, just got my first ever Macbook (first ever iOS device) then this video dropped

No problem, glad you enjoy it! I'll be making more MacBook content soon.
A tip for the migration assistent is using a usb c to usb c cable between your two macs, that greatly improves the speed
I love watching these videos before Christmas because it gets me hyped and also so I know how to use a MacBook it gets me so excited

At the beginning when you connect it to your wifi. I don’t have wifi instead mobile unlimited internet. Is that also good? Can I also connect it?
Is there any downside if I never create or use an apple id?
Yes, you won't be able to use iCloud or download any apps via the app store.
