I have longed to play this seminal piece for years but until I understood the circle of fifths it sounded like a genius concept, impenetrable to the layman. Then I "got" the circle of fifths and suddenly I was able to work out the basic scheme and concept, so as to play it with my ukulele group. Having said that, there were one or two notes I didn't get quite right by ear, so this has really helped me to polish the piece. Thank you!
Beautiful demonstration! Ray was a fantastic keyboard player and to be honest, just learning it and being able to play it, is admirable. You have my respect...☺
I remember someone trying out keyboard in a music store years ago and playing this intro that stayed with me all these years. I have the midi file which I worked with but your video was the the icing on the cake. Thanks
Bonjour je pratique la guitare depuis longtemps, le piano depuis peu ; votre aide pour cette intro est très appréciable. Vous êtes tout simplement merveilleuse... Merci (de France) ! J'adore l'orgue en général et ce titre en particulier
I wish i could've sang this with you back in 2017, when you were among the musicians that came out for my uncle Gregg's benefit at the arcada theater. Or when we were all piled into that back room at the hammond shop
Aw thank you! That’s sweet!! You following and sharing my Channel is the best donation you can do! And if you’d like to learn more with me I about to release a full piano method in my piano academy onlinerocklessons.com! Check it out ;)
If RUclips had been around in the 80’s there would be millions of people that would have learned this. Back then you had to figure it out for yourself. And that was not easy.
Say that about guitarrists For us keyboardists, there are no videos like this teaching songs for the great majority of music I feel that struggling exactly like you mention in the 80s even in current time
I would have a tutorial of the piano-intro from Morning Dew by Long John Baldry! Is that possible? Your tutorial of the intro of Light my fire is GREAT!!
Perhaps. But don’t sell yourself short. Try it slow..Really slow if you have to. Generally if you can play it slow, speeding it up is not too hard. Sometimes it’s harder to play things slowly, so when you speed it up, it may get easier.
My little question in good mood. Why first note write g but it is b (h) and second write d it is c.....write f it is a. Just a question to understand what the idea is?
When you played it slower, I was like there's no way this is correct but then you sped it up and it's perfect. I will never doubt you again wise lady.
Haha thanks!!

Every keyboard/piano video should be like this!

Great idea!
Great videos, how do you choose the fingering?
I always try to think where I’m going. What’s the next note I’ll have to play and choose the best fingering.
Thanks 🙏
Great! Thank you. 🎹 👍
thank you friend!
those last notes of the entrence are a little confusing
Ray Manzarek was the best.
Оч круто показываешь. Жаль что мне на arturia mk2 не хватает одной октавы. Нужно срочно второй басовый под левую руку)))!!! 😊
I just subscribed. 🎹 👍
Awesome, thank you!
This is a really good tutorial. It's too difficult for a beginner piano player haha.

I want to see the intro to morning has broken Cat Stevens but written by Mike Oldfield

Hey!! The letters are the chords not the notes :)
