80k is a fair deal for both of you. VERY GARY would've closed this deal for 8k and walked out leaving the seller thinking he sold at a great price.
That is a collection 99% of comic book collectors (including myself) wish they had. I know you have to sell them because it's your job, but......there are so many keepers there.
Ya I try to be as fair as possible. I tell people the truth. Like roughly how much I will make of this and how long it will take me to move. I think just being honest and up front is the best method. Plus letting them know the truth of how much their collection is worth. I think it’s bad business to take advantage of someone then they found out months or years later. Because word of mouth is the best form of advertising. If both people are happy then that’s the best type of deal
FF1 has the most room to grow of anything you have here IMO. Untapped media potential + 1st/2nd most rare Marvel after Hulk 1 arguably
ya hulk 1 is probably the toughest, but ya I rarely get FF 1's i'm gonna hold this one back

Wow, this is an amazing collection! I love the spidey run. Do you ever have a hard time putting the books up for sale? All the books I buy (I’m on a much different level than you 😆) I just want to keep them all for my collection. Grails and keys like those I’m not sure I could part with them.
at first, but i've been doing this for so long I see the same books come and go all the time, so ya its not that big of deal. It sucks when one of a kinds go though :(
First book I read was my neighbor’s ratty copy of ASM 101, 1st Morbius, and ASM 256, 1st Puma, and I was hooked.

Absolutely magnificent!!! Great acquisition. Seeing stuff like this really makes me regret selling my second comic collection. I am working on my third one now. My first collection I destroyed after my sister put a glass of soda on a Nick Fury agent of Shield #1putting a water ring right through the cover I just got when I was 7. My mom told me it was my fault so I snapped and tore up my comic collection! I think at the time it was 2 short boxes and nothing really valuable. Ah the mind of a child!

What's the best way to ship a short box full of comics? Need to ship a few and trying to figure out the best way to do so.
best way is put all the comics in a short box, then if there is extra room in the short box to pad that with packing material. Then you and take an extra short box lid, and put it on the bottom of the box. So there is a lid at the top and bottom. tape that all up. Id then put that inside a shipping box with bubble wrap or packing peanuts and you're good

ya sure....its called "polka Trash" is the style...and its a bunch of different comic characters that I love, Wolverine, Spider-Man, Joker, Poison Ivy, Ghost Rider...I got more but not on that sleeve

But the FF story you told. I have heard conflicting stories. From Stan Lee. I heard him say the the FF came because Martin Goodman was playing golf with the DC head guy and he was bragging about how well the justice league was selling so Martin told Stan to do a superhero team book.
Spiderman was the book he wrote the way he wanted before he was going to quit. That’s why it was the last issue of amazing fantasy. They were getting rid of the title anyway.
Anyway, I think Stan told them both different every time 😂

Sometimes you tell a story so much that you start thinking that’s the real story but then you kinda forget which is the truth or which is the redone version lol
Weren’t you worried about scratching the slabs with that metal prop?
The metal prop won't scratch the slabs, the plastic is pretty tough and that metal is weak, plus the metal is smooth and no jagged edges or anything harsh
For those of us that have been fans of his for 30+ years, if Keannu was going to be any character, it would be the voice of Silver Surfer. The guy is an actual Hawaiian surfer. And plus he's so Zen and centered. That's his role.

Wish people would stop using the excuse of "it's a black cover" is why the grade is what it is. It's obvious spine damage and graders use black lights to detect spine wear and color touch.

Wow impressive collection, do you know why the person decided to sell? And literally sold all of it I’m assuming?? Also noticing all the red dots on the comics is that because this is considered a pedigree collection? How does that even get established with CGC?
He only sold some of his Marvel comics, he is more into DC comics, so he wanted the money to buy more DC stuff. Also the red dots are just stickers noting that it will get sent to CGC, I put them on
X-Men Ann. 14 is NOT a cameo of Gambit, despite what CC says. It's a full appearance.
Ya he’s in a few panels. Not sure exactly why. Maybe because X-men 266 he is the main person compared to just a background character
@@ComicBookInvestments He's in the annual for at least a page and a half and shown throughout the book in various panels. In no way is that considered a cameo. I believe CGC keeps this charade up is because they've already stated for years that his first appearance is in X-Men 266 and telling the truth to collectors about this would devalue the book, thus infuriating investors.

Just a thought. I remember Stan lee making a statement about how the X-men stories as far as mutant rights were similar to what was going on in America at that time and civil rights. Not sure but maybe that was the reason X-men weren’t as popular in the 60s…
