TRADING GUIDE for Dragon City 2023! How to Do Fair Trades and Avoid Getting SCAMMED!

- Hi there! So today I thought I'd go through trading in Dragon City, meainly because I see a lot of newer players (and some older players) get confused about the value of dragon orbs. Nobody is going to agree exactly with another as to exactly how valuable one orb is to another, however there are some main things to keep in mind about trading that will help to create fairer trades for you and others in the community.
The simple way to think about dragon orb values is mainly based on the following three things:
1. How easy are the orbs to obtain?
2. How good is the dragon in pvp arenas?
3. What rarity is the dragon? Common, uncommon, legendary, heroic?
However, there are a couple of extra things you may want to consider:
4. How desperate are you to get these specific orbs?
5. Are there any active events or quests for a specific dragon?
Ratio trades can be complex (and a waste of essence). The only way to do ratio trades or cross-trades reliably without getting scammed is by doing the following:
trade 1 - x5 hmk for x5 high nest orbs (player 1 initiates trade)
trade 2 - x5 random heroic orbs for x5 high nest orbs (player 2 initiates trade)
Repeat until trade completed as originally agreed.

i finally saw you. nice nice nice. you are the only youtuber for dragon city who really does true reviews. some who does so-called reviews are rubbish. yes, they talk at first part, but the rest of the content are just showing them playing with a song on the background. i hope you will do some extensive reviews for dragons one by one. keep it up.

Hey quacks, I've seen your video regarding the tips and tricks on empowering heroics so I wondered if you have a video on empowering dragons in general, as in regardless of rarity. I've seen other forums on the DC subreddit with tips and tricks but I just wonder if there are any other ways that aren't either 1.) Getting dupes and ranking them up to Gold 1 before recalling them for what is essentially unlimited orbs; 2.) Trading for them which this video is convenient for. I'm planning on turning some dragons into e5 because up until recently, I only really played to collect dragons in my free time, but I noticed I found myself struggling mostly with League Battle pools with the last Heroic Race event because of having dragons only capped out at e1 or no empowerment at all (lucky I even got High Scale).
The tips for heroics would be exactly the same as other dragons, just minus access to the bonus orbs from heroic quest. If a dragon is breedable, just breed more copies of it then recall. If a dragon is rescuable, just rescue until you get 2k orbs. If a dragon is a vip, you'll have to collect joker orbs from collections and events and then empower during empower happy hour
I managed to get sinful at shh cuz I got 1 orb from him from an eternalite chest.
Since im new to the whole trading system, this might have already been a point of discussion, but why dont they just allow you to select how many orbs you are going to trade and for how many in return? The whole issue with ratio trading could easily be fixed. And it takes away the unnecessary wait times involved
Because then they wouldnt be able to monetize essence, which is essentially why they are unlikely to change that. They also want trading to be a thing that players can use, but they also want to avoid trading being a thing as much as possible to stop say f2p players from getting p2w dragons

Funnily enough, next event wil give a vampire chest so.. very gud. Also what dragon should i summon? I have high scale and fertility at 1 star, my options are greedy, gluttonous, prideful or blood god vampire, earth and metal titans (Im at 3000 trophies so blood god and prideful are kinda useless XD)

What is a fair trade for angelic eternal? Someone in my alliance said it was the best dragon in the game and i should trade my high voodoo orbs for him but I don’t think so. Is a vampire orb a good trade for angelic?
Eternals are terrible.
Their skill only activates at 15% HP left, and usually have terrible defending types. Furthermore, a titan would be a good trade for angelic orbs as titans are also…meh.
Eternals are, arguably, some of the weakest VIP dragons in the game currently (although maybe reaper perk will make them slightly more viable now). They are worth the same as other vips, although due to how easy angelic eternal and phoenix eternal were to get for f2ps, you'll find orbs for the other eternals harder to find
quack, can i summon a prideful vampire with 11 orbs and 80+ joker orbs in summoning happy hour? if I can't, can you tell me what i need to do to be able to summon him?
No. A dragon that costs 100 orbs to summon means that you need 100 orbs *total*. So that could be just 1 orb of the dragon + 99 joker orbs of that type, but it still needs to come to 100. You would either need to get more orbs of prideful via trading/events or you would need to get more joker orbs

I just played dragon city 2weeks ago and i purchased the divine pass i got a lot of orbs of the arcana and i got lucky on a chest that gave me 50 orbs of the prideful vamp I'm trying to get orbs of the prideful by requesting prideful in exchange they'll get arcana death but no one is accepting is the arcana death easy to get?what dragon should i donate for them to give me prideful vampire?
To be honest, you're actually technically giving out more value than they are by trading out arcana death since he's pay-only right now whereas prideful isn't. Maybe the players in your alliance don't have prideful orbs or they're actively working on him so they can't trade them out? They may also not be avid collectors, but players such as myself that are f2p would likely be in favour of that trade because it means they can get a paid dragon in exchange for vamps, which aren't the hardest vips to get.

Hey i started playin two weeks ago is it alright to be leveling fast, cs im already lvl 36
Don't overlevel if you dont have dragons that can defeat any team of level 40s in the game, you'll screw yourself over in league battles, which is the opposite of what you want to do when a heroic race is coming up
I started exactly a month ago, I'm currently in lvl52, what makes it worse is that I'm an F2P player, I don't have any empowered dragons yet. The high scale was my first heroic. I'm in 7/400 in leagues totally stuck and barely making progress in the arenas. I'm so screwed.

Imp you can trade for other 1 element legends, or other rescue dragons mainly. Since Imp is rescuable, he doesn't have a great deal of value
Should i summon or trade for Prideful?
That's your choice, but keep in mind that prideful is weak to flame so he's weak to a lot of dragons early on (mainly applies to newer players)
@@quackalakes so whats the best then? I only have bio augmented greedy sinful prideful and ursurper orbs I'm guessing sinful as newer players cant really counter it without ancient elements and you can use ephixia then leech fang

Are vamps and Titans worth equally?
Eh, kinda but because vampires are more useful overall for battles, most generally wont trade the "good" vamps for titans (blood god, sinful, hexed etc)

Yes, training absolutely changes how strong the moves are. It doesn't make a big difference but it DOES make some difference. The orbs shop changed recently so the chance of this happening now is pretty much zero
TWD orbs aren't limited thanks to Divine Orbs Habitat. However the value will definitely go up I think
They're still limited because they won't be available via events or purchasable, plus divine orbs habitat is very random. Doesn't mean there will ever be zero orbs for them available, but definitely not very many will be left floating around as time goes on

If you play the heroic race events, you can pick up heroics there. You're better off not wasting heroic joker orbs on summoning if you can help it

i think its just how the players manipulated the scarcity of certain "rare"/"OP" dragon orbs which leads to ratio trades and such, but from my point of view all the dragon orbs has equal value when it comes to trading. its all for the collection in my case HAHA lol
I'm also a collector, but I don't think it's true to say all orbs in the game are of equal value - some dragons are incredibly easy to get and collect, others seemingly near impossible if you're f2p. This means that the harder ones to get would have more value, just fundamentally
good point but its ratio and cross trade is so unhealthy, F2F or F2W people are so far apart huhu. then again it would have been nice if there are limited quests where you get VIP/Rare Drag orbs without having the requirement of a certain VIP dragon itself.
