    As usual, "a quick service" consists of dozens of technical details you have to be aware of, or else the work will be a failure.
    Kudos to this mechanic, who tackles each problem with skill and patience.
    A word for the viewers:
    If you are not experienced, do not try this at home.
    You will fail and harm your vehicle.

    Hardly anyone installs customer supplied parts because they don't make any money on their marked-up supplied parts

    • @Kevinsgolfcarts
      @Kevinsgolfcarts  3 года назад

      I used to until I had people say I "broke" their parts, they claimed "you didn't install the part I gave you" or their parts aren't compatible with their cart. With the last case, now I have to deal with a cart that doesn't run or has other issues because the customer "knows what's wrong and wants this part installed". Unless you buy the part from me, I won't install it. Many mechanics won't install customer parts because of liability or hassle. For me, its both.

    Kinda rough with customer new dash and components. Can tell it is not his cart.

    Iam getting ready to install one of these, iam thinking on using a home made gasket in between the mating surface for a better seal......whatcha think?

    • @Kevinsgolfcarts
      @Kevinsgolfcarts  Месяц назад

      Unless the dash cover you are installing has gaskets in the doors, then its a waste.

    Great video... Would you have a pic of OEM wiring for back of gas switch. Pulled my dash off 2005 Gas Prec and a few wires came free... No idea where they go.. dont want to burn something up.. Thanks man. Great channel.. Congrats

    What kind of screws did you use for the dash

    • @Kevinsgolfcarts
      @Kevinsgolfcarts  3 месяца назад +1

      Probably stainless steel. I don't remember since this was so long ago. You can use any self-drilling stainless steel screw to hold these on.

    Self tapping screws or what? Mine didnt come with any

    • @Kevinsgolfcarts
      @Kevinsgolfcarts  4 месяца назад

      Depending on the cart, you can use self tapping screws or sheet metal screws. In recent installs, I have been predrilling holes in the dash to help prevent cracking. There really is no right or wrong way to install the dash. Pay attention to the screw heads. Make sure they don't interfere with the operation of the glove box doors. The instructions that come with most of these aftermarket accessories suck and they usually don't come with install hardware. I use common sense when installing them.

    Are the key and light switches parity sensitive? I might have the wires reverse. My manual only show wires no color or orientation to the device it attaches too.

    • @Kevinsgolfcarts
      @Kevinsgolfcarts  3 года назад

      What cart do you have? Gas or electric? The switch is not polarity dependant but, depending on the cart year, make and model, will determine the wiring order.

    • @Kevinsgolfcarts

      Yes but the key switch with chrome nut is for a Club Car DS,1984-1995 gas, item number KEY-55 or 1981-1995 electric KEY-52 on my website.

    did you have to replace that 10a main fuse? i always forget to take it out when replacing the key switch lol

    • @Kevinsgolfcarts
      @Kevinsgolfcarts  6 лет назад

      I did. I forget about it once in a while, too. I usually check to see what the rating is and remove it, or disconnect the battery. I've seen people put 30A fuses in as a replacement. Its ok to do that to get you home but not as a permanent replacement.

    • @Kevinsgolfcarts

      I stopped installing customer supplied parts because of the issues in the past. My shop, my rules. Install it yourself if you don't like it.
