You are the first guy I've seen that grooves with the Sensory Percussion kit. The vast majority of the other people I've seen sound like kids noodling out of tempo. You make it sound so solid and groovy
It can be used many ways, for me the most important part is the ability to use more samples, tweak them in the software and add real time sound design to them. 🙌 Now that the Sensory Percussion plugin is available I use my setup through Ableton which gives me even more options for real time effects
I think sounding similar to a drum machine is also something rarely done. Especially because a human will never sound like a drum machine the imperfections make it unique in my opinion. I'm always experimenting with new sounds, and it's really inspiring
Damn, i'm a pianist and i was convinced that the piano was unique in it's ability to play almost any instrument. Looks like drummers are in for a MASSIVE treat. love your drummings loops, i use them every day for practice and recommend them to my students. I always introduce you as "my drummer friend" to the kids, they're convinced we're actually real life buddies xD
how cool!!! I understand their "kit" comes with 3 triggers?... But what if one has a lot more toms and wants a trigger for every drum on a drum kit? is it possible to buy and add more triggers than three? what drum kits have worked best with these triggers? shall one only use the triggers with acoustic drum kits or does it work with electronic drum kits as well? or should one use some type of silent, stealth drumkits? I only played acoustic drums in my life, so all these electronic drum solutions are new to me. Do Evans have their own drumkits that are created to work best with these triggers? Hope to hear back from you, seems like a unique way to play drums in 2023° Kind regards, Christopher
how to consider this compared to all the great Roland e-kits? they also state that they are now sensory... what is the difference between sensory as Roland means and with this system?... can you do the same with Roland electronically more or less.. how to get a good understanding of what to choose... I got interested in music more and more now. I do not know music theory and such, I can just play the drums acoustically as I did that since I was 7 but I totally lost my memory of drum notes and music theory... I had the Nord drum 3P for a month, I loved the idea of it with all the controls, but I hated playing on it as it was just hard rubber pads with zero rebound and the pads are also so small and close to each other it did not give me the joy as in playing on a real acoustic kit with good ergonomics and rebound.. So, this is when I found the Evans hybrid system interesting... But I know too little about sensory systems and I see it comes more and more on the market now using this name sensory in their marketing for electronic drum kits... Thanks for getting back! @@TheHybridDrummer
I'm curious how you were able to turn the extra kick layer on/off by hitting the rim of the kick drum. I've been looking for tutorials on that but have been unable to find them.
I'm experiencing some crosstalk sometimes, working on the solution for that, I think it's gonna be possible with a bit more tweaking and being mindful about what zones I actually want to use. I will keep you updated! What kind of issues are you having?

INGENIOUS
I’ve got mine 😎just starting to see how to use them
Really good!
Rather than try to sound like a drum machine, why not use the technology to make sounds we've never heard before?

Thank you! Yes, this product is awesome. 🤗 I'm glad you use my loops!

You can buy more sensors separately, the Evans Portal (the module) can handle up to 7 sensors

@@AlejandroDyer-sc5yk i mapped the velocity of the bass drum rim to muting that extra layer and set the mapping to toggle mode
Can you connect this to a midi vst like ezdrummer?
I just want good triggers to play drum sounds
I haven't tried that but probably yes, because Sensory Percussion can transmit MIDI so you can control any VST with it.
wtf?!?!?!? mind blowing!
Sounds like side chaining the CV, keep experimenting looking forward.
Great Job.

That is incredible! You are taking things to the next level.
Thank you! Stay tuned because this is just the beginning! :)
You give me hope. Music is very important for the future.@@TheHybridDrummer
Any issues with other zones triggering. Like hitting the center and the rim triggers?

What kind of issues are you having?
That makes you a phenomenal one-man band. Great video and demo. Way more interesting and musical than those phony DJs that just plug in a USB stick.
Thanks! I'm definitely gonna put together a solo set with it. Already started working on it actually :)
Kool man 😊
Thank you!
