Gorgeous car!
I picked up an 07 type s! I was told the 07-08 models got the upgraded transmission from the Acura RL. Not sure the truth behind this but thought it’s worth the mention, I got the Taupe seats. I love the contrast and personally think it’s the interior to have
Own a used 08 TL. Was kept in great condition. Apart from battery leakage issues (probably the Blue Tooth system, from what I've read), it's a great whip. Super underrated. Great sound system (for the time), insanely precise steering, clean leather interior, old-school backup cam, and insanely reliable. Only complaint besides the battery issue is that the suspension: it feels a lil TOO stiff .. as in, you REALLY feel the road's terrain.
Thanks for sharing, great info! I've only driven this one a couple times but its super nice and I love the wheels
I have the same O8 TL w/Navi. I had a battery issue too. Disconnected the Bluetooth system. No problems since then. Still going strong. The best thing Acura did to 07 and 08 TL is they changed the transmission. Anyone who owns a 04-06 TL would understand that struggle.
really great in depth review thanks
Thank you!
@@BuildYourOwn am about to buy a 2008 tl have u had any transmission problem or a anything thsnks
Really good review. One pretty big omission... Auto trans is known to be somewhat problematic and is the largest known issue with these... Will definitely need attentive maintenance.... Get the manual if u can to minimize the risk
wasn't that limited to the 05/06 models only?
@@yiinuo eh... I hear that is partially true, and i believe they made improvents in 07-08... Lets just say 99-03 was terrible, 04-06 was bad, and 07 and 08 were less bad... I got a manual for the fun and to avoid that problem all together. Plus the manual came with a limited slip differential, brembo brakes, and stiffer suspension for improved handling.
The reason why automatic transmissions are “unreliable” is all due to user error. Most people never use the parking brake when parking and slowly grind their gears away over time. On slopes this becomes more critical of a requirement.
My 06 Base TL with 400,000 miles on the original auto approaching its 18th winter confirms what I’m saying.
@@duyvuitton6019 I'm sure there is a lot of truth to that. I also had a Nissan cvt with 200k and no problems because I took care of it... Ur probably right

In the deep center console is an aux port under the cig lighter port, I recommend getting a Bluetooth aux adapter for wireless
