Same. I wasn't too surprised to see blue tones for shading - many do that - however the placement of the shades and the inclusion of tan/pink into the blue of the eyes was unexpected but still very nice looking.

My most favorite part to watch is when you color the eyes and skin :) u always use odd colors like blue and green (in your other videos), and it always come out looking so awesome! :)
As a fine arts major, I can tell you that using warm and cool colors together, layering them, or using them next to each other causes that really big pop effect. Cool colors recede into space, and warm colors pop into the front of what your looking at. Also, shadows are generally more purple and blue than black and grey. If you really look and study them you'll start to see what I mean. :) This is a masterfully done marker painting, but I do thinj the neck are is a little too dark. Other than that it's awesome. :)

So basically the whole video ;-). Just teasing. Ditto on the other comments. The colors she uses aren't really odd, they are intelligent. It shows how smart she is and how creative she is. As my own teachers say "You need to know the rules to break them"... she is able to make such an amazing out put because she uses her knowledge and her own creativity to her advantage. It's why so many people subscribe over 1 video.

Randomness TS Happy Kappa I use the bristol by strathmore and it does fairly well. A lot of people use it. I have also heard a lot of youtube artist use Blending card by x-press. I just order this so I do not know how well this works yet.

But i'm confused as to why you stopped it before finishing the hair, hat, and everything else .-.
Many people say copics are too expensive and not worth it, but they are very good quality, refillable, and they helped me expand my style further and helped me bring me pieces to life. Even if you don't colour in everything, just the feel of the brush pen is good for practice and it's light enough to add hints of colour to pencil drawings.
It's so beautiful! I really enjoy watching this piece come to life before my eyes. The way you can put so much depth into her face and really make it pop is amazing to me.

I do like seeing more variants in skin tone myself, but sadly, darker skin tones can be a bit tough to do, especially with Copics if you don't have all the E colors and whatnot. As an artist myself, I've practiced doing almost all of the ethnicities, and so far African American is the hardest for me due to only having about ten E Copics in the range of darker skin tones. The tones don't match properly and mixing a pale brown with a warm or a more bright one can make the skin look bad with the variation in skin warmths.
I totally agree! I'd really like to see more, just on RUclips and deviant art in general! But when you think about it, it's more difficult to do African American Skin, requires a lot of skill and understanding of colors and realism. c: I'm looking at the playlist youtube set up right now, all speedpaints, not one African American!
Gorgeous! Great use of colors. I've also been using muted blues for my shadows too, when I use pastels, but I've never thought of using purples. I just got my first markers (Copics) so we'll see how that goes! :)
