The branch got the best of him the first time, but Willie is brave! He beats his chest, grabs it and makes a tent, a bed, camouflage, and lunch out of it. That was the best branch EVER!

Oh, the baby bump! My son was born Dec 21st (many years ago), so I completely empathize with starting to feel _very_ pregnant as summer drones on and on. 😂🤰🦍
My take is they have a natural maternal instinct that helps guide them especially after they give birth, Kambera maternal instincts weren't strong enough last time she had an infant, but her watching Shalia's progression with willie b3 will hopefully make a difference. I don't think gorillas realize the babies come from mating, or that father has anything to do with things but they work it out, and the fathers know the infant is a family member if it's his. A new silverback that took over a troop- I think would actually commit infanticide if they were not his to get the females in estrus again.
