Guys THIS was the FIRST TENNIS match I ever watched ! Thanks ATP for posting this ! Been looking for this for so long!
My first was Nadal Federer Roma 2006
i don't remrmber The fist lol i was 11 but maybe something with federer that was my superheroe at this point
Gonzo at his highest level - he matched a Fed who was also playing very well! What a high level Gonzo could reach - just brilliant!
The best Forehand in the history👏👏
Gonzalez played astounding I was shouting for him and I'm a Fed fan
people comparing alcaraz's forehand to gonzalez.........not even close!!
They are actually very close. And Alcaraz has a lot more variety than Gonzalez ever did. We'll see how things progress from now on.
@@delriver77 Not even close but the difference is the athletism of Alcaraz, and different styles he can play but forehand not even close
@@FrankHor101 agree to disagree. Alcaraz has the most powerful FH we've seen since Del Potro.
@@delriver77 Alcaraz's FH is great - just lacks the shot selection brilliance of let's say a Fed. This is in part due to Carlos being a bit more athletic/defensive. But I'd like to see him get better at this over time.
@@delriver77is powerful but González win matches because his forehand, Alcaraz win because of his all around skills, but his forehand its not determinate like González forehand was
I remember seeing Federer saying he picks Gonzalez for ideal forehand somewhere. You can see why in this video.
he never said that. Djokovic said that.
@@TheseHoesAreLoyal I don't know if Djokovic ever said so but Federer sure did.
@@hanglythu1566 I remember exactly when Gonzalez retired in 2012 players at the time made a tribute video to him, and Djokovic was the one who said, "congratulations to Gonzalez and his career. Probably the biggest forehand ever in tennis."
I don't remember ever seeing a clip where Federer said he would take Gonzalez' forehand. I never missed out on anything related to Federer while growing up in 2005-2013 especially
@@TheseHoesAreLoyal Well that's different from "choosing it as the ideal forehand" right? Federer just said it a couple years ago, so if you stopped following him carefully in 2013 you may have missed it. I think you can still search for that video tho.
@@hanglythu1566 When did I ever say that I stopped following him carefully in 2013? Now you're just twisting my words. 🤦♂
Look at how fast those courts are. We need more surfaces like that these days
Year end finals has always been a fast surface I am pretty sure. Paris is the only relative slow indoor hc i know of nowadays
@@Divvy21 Indian Wells and since the courts for the WTF have moved to London (and now Turin) have been awfully slow
It's because of longer projection it appears like that
That's shanghai, still the fastest court now
@@shafqatishan437 shanghai is canceled now lol
Grande Feña!!! Feliz cumpleaños Grande!!! Happy Birthday Feña!!! My favourite tennis player 🎾💪🇨🇱
Both players exhibited great skills of high intensity
Oldie but goodie
Gonzalez had a forehand like NOBODY else
Alcaraz?
@@ghsense2626 still fermenting
@@ghsense2626 facts. gonzo was more consistent off that wing though. more of a heavy loopy ball for the most part, but could pull the trigger too. alcaraz just has to dial it in a little more. I see too much fluctuation in his consistency of his forehand at the moment
What about Del Potro?
@@ghsense2626 Not even close. Gonzo had a bomb for a forehand.
The definition of stunned!
Powerful forehands with beautiful one-handed backhands . This is tennis porn !
nunca me canso de ver este partido!
I just watched this match in Shanghai, the people there was so excited that night
Monster forehand by FG
el DRIVE de Fernando era LETAL!!
Feña González was by far, the better Chilean player of history, GREAT PLAYER
Amazing I regret not watching this match live
Great vid. This match makes me want to see a Thiem-Gonzalez, new balls at each switching side.
Fernando itself says that the best match of his career was with Tommy Haas in Australia. But I think it was this one.
I think the same thing. Maybe he is biased due to his difference with his oponent. Federer played really good this match but Gonzalez simply was something else.
Great to see Fed back in action! He looks as youthful as ever.
Federer got rekt here. Just goes to show gonzo is a beast when he's in form.
Loses 7-5 in the third set. yeah, he got "rekt".
@@Divvy21 it's not the score, it's how he lost. No cheap points, most of the points were winners from Gonzo
@@GIN.356.AFederer rekted him 99% they played then
Great match many thanks.
Gonzalez was in beast mode in this match. He made Fed look slow, at times.
What went wrong with his career?
Hum nothing? Highest ranking was 5 ATP, if that's going wrong I want my life to go as wrong as it possibly can
@@nicolasriq 😂 Me too!
What I meant was, why didn't he stay at that high level for very long?
He seemed to drop out of the picture pretty quickly, from what I can recall.
@@gedofgont1006 Oh i see, my bad. I think he injured his wrist and it held him back until he eventually retired! Not sure it was his wrist though 🤔
@@nicolasriq Ah! That would explain it.
Thanks, my good man! 👍🙏😊
Not everyone has to become gs champs
What a pair of forehands 🤯
La mejor derecha lejos..... mano de piedra uno de mis ídolos del tenis
González was my inspiration
La mejor derecha del mundo
Gonzo 🤧
Maybe the best match of Feña
👏👏👏
Federer was so good
That’s easy to find since he only ever beat Fed once. The other 12 meetings went to Fed.
Go out and have fun
4:30 why does federer do the head flick at that moment?
Haha. His one and only win against him, had to be a blinder. Cranked it up a notch
Silence
4:16
The Best chilean player of all time
?
I agree with you if we just speak about the player from Chile you most liked. Because there was another Chilean who had more success than González. Marcelo Ríos. But Ríos was (an still is) an idiot, who achieved the world number one for a short time.
@@claudioopazo9645 dijo "el mejor jugador chileno de todos los tiempos"
In the words of Booker t of wwe.. ."you got to be kidding me".who is this guy?
Que maldita derecha del chileno
Bien Feña lo agarraste a palos😂
I am the firs
Apparently so
Big congratulations to you. Family are very happy for you
Look at the cold handshake by crying baby federer😂😂
Eh, the handshake is not too bad here. He still looks at him in the face and acknowledges his win. Cold handshake is Tsitsipas Medvedev ao 2022 where he did not even look at medvedev
Damn, you haters can't get a life, can you 😂?
Federer, always a salty and arrogant loser.
lol tennistv thats a way to trash feds legacy on his year of retirement. so disrespectful 🤣
I don’t think fed is retiring this year
@@possesedcake5422 he isn't listed in the ATP ranking anymore, so no chance to enter a tournament fairly. wildcard to wimbi, how fair is that? his GENEVA250 admission 2021 was a disaster (1000000 for appearance iirc), losing in first match. i had my hands on a RF cap in Uniqlo store last month but then
@@leecherlarry He is not some scrub like most others. If he's feeling well, he will be back in top 50 by some months and top 20 within a year.
@@leecherlarry He has no points because of surgery / injury. That doesn't mean he has no points because he doesn't know how to play tennis. His tennis level will be high, and any tournament he goes to will have a lot of spectators, and ticket sales. Come on man, you know that's how the real world works.
@@bigrobsydney I'm just trolling you guys 😂. Anyway i ended up buying the white H&M cap (several units) instead, great quality product.
