    Thank you for posting these. I actually prefer the camera angle and overall footage to the ESPN video, especially how you got the crowd's gasp at the 100 split. Makes you feel like you're actually at the meet.

    Slow last 50 by his standards this is a crazy swim. Conservatively predicting a 3:29 low for the 4

    His margin of winning was like an 11-12 age group race, not the most elite college swimmers in the country.

    the backstroke / breast legs are completely insane

  • @EricAngle
    @EricAngle Год назад +1

    If back used to be a "weakness" for Marchand, this race and the 400 IM showed that it no longer is. While breast is his best stroke -- and his 27.66 split was 0.88 seconds faster than the next fastest (28.54) -- his back split of 22.98 was 1.28 seconds faster than the next fastest (24.26). Granted, he spends 60% under water, but still...

      @@EricAngle super surprised lochtes IM still stands, who would've thought it would last longer than phelps'. Leon could've won 2breat, hope he swims it in Paris

    • @EricAngle
      @EricAngle Год назад +1

      @@sethaldrich6902 Yeah, I wish Marchand could've swum the 200 breast at worlds. I don't see any reason he wouldn't have at least broken the existing WR, if not won the event. In Paris the only conflict Marchand has is 200 breast and 200 fly. I hope he swims 200 breast. Lochte's 1:54.00 is really something. We were spoiled with all those 1:54s by Phelps and Lochte.

      chat gpt answered my question: yes, the rule was changed like 8 years ago and yes it agrees this is a time advantage of possibly up to 1 second.
