That time would not have qaulified Shackell in the Australian men's 400m event..the qualifying time (recently) in Aus was 3:45.43... I don't think our aussie male swimmers are over strong, but by gee, this win has convinced me our selectors need to be a little more reasonable when setting QT prior at our own trials.

Wasn't the officials fault they left late, lane 4 continued to move after they said take your mark. Plus this shouldn't have been an issue to the swimmers because most swimmers practice leaving at different times to avoid any issues, especially ones competing at this level.
