Wow. CD looks built, very trim so he has to be working out and eating right, but this video shows that he isnt in swimming stamina shape. He almost looks human. Kinda proves that even with tremondous talent the best have to be there mentally and physically to be on the top of this sport. I'm hoping he finds his fire for 2024 bc it is so fun to watch Dressel at his best. If he doesnt, I still hope he is happy bc that is what most important.
swimming is a very mental sport for me because youre in the water for hours swimming till failure, its very exhausting and you have to eat certain amounts of healthy food, on top of that you either have to go to the gym before or after swimming, and after its all done you don’t really have time for anything but for me personally i dont really feel human because its the same cycle everyday, i just have no time, i have school.
He took 8 months off the sport and had 2 months to train for this (while tapering off of nothing) and then just showed up at this meet... I'd say he did pretty well
