He’s already sub 49 as of 2021. He has a really good shot of making the 4x100 in paris after he matures a little more. Him and Chaney are probably the next 2 good Americans to take those relay spots. Apple and Pieroni have retired, so they have a chance.
They're creeping up on it, but Dressel was on a different level. Dropping almost a full second in the 100 free is a tall order, but given what we've seen at this meet so far, it's definitely possible.
I really think it's just a mindset thing. To sub 40 you have to treat it like a 50 with extra walls. Obviously I'm no expert, but Dressel looked like he was doing a 50 in terms of his stroke rate. If you watch Jack he leaves his right arm forward way longer than you would if you were doing a dead sprint. I used to do the same thing when I raced the 100 where I'd think "oooh I need to pace myself just a bit on this first 50", but if you think about it there's no reason not to go completely ham on the first 50 unless you're not conditioned enough to do a 100.
I really hope Alexy and Crooks go between 40.0 -40.5, and hopefully Seeliger, Liendo, Curry and Youssef join in the conversation too
Alexy should be good long course, he has no undies lol

@@aculturedspecimen I think I'd take winkler over chaney, especially by next summer
Jack and Jordan are so close to Dressels 39.90

@@lucasadonohuegreed, I don’t think it’ll happen this season, But maybe in the next. If it happens tonight that would be insane though.
