Good job Matt, well done, my first car in 1966 was MRK 1 mini, never did like it, felt every bump every pothole. it was a bone crusher.
I saw Matt's Minis in Brighton close up. Matt you did a fantastic job and you should be proud of what you could do in that tiny garage. To do all that welding and repairing himself was a massive achievement. The painting was was awesome. I never thought about sanding down paint and using a polisher would really work until I saw the Jet Black myself. I wanted ask loads of questions about the Red Hot's 16v conversion and hear it running - another day perhaps?
+Nuts n Proud yes. Very sorry to have missed you. Had to walk about a few times.
Aa
To see this mini car restoration really fantastic because with man power how they built the car So good . I really appreciate there ability and also I am thinking to own like this mini car.
Thank u so much
Welcome 4ur kind comment.
Matt, you are a motivator to all of us. Your commitment and focus to achieve your goal is admirable. Outstanding job that demands respect.
This is absolutely awesome, you guys used only the basic's tool that alone is a clear credit thank you for sharing .
Amazing man! Been working on a mini for a year now. It was ready for the junkjard but im bringing it back alive
Really nice job. I used to own a 1973 mini and I loved it.
Thanks
Amazing restoration but the best part is the music that’s so relaxing.!! 🙌🙌
Totally amazing job young man makes me happy to see somebody like yourself devoted to being another classic back to life
Thank you
You my friend are a great body worker/ mechanic/ painter/ upholsterer , Much respect ✊🏽
Fabulous video. I don't think I've spent a more enjoyable 45 minutes for a long time. My mum only ever had mini travellers when me & my sisters were kids (used to throw us all in the back!), and I drove a clubman for a few years when I was in my early 20s (until I wrote it off...oops).
An exhausting work of hours and more hours of dedication and commitment to take the ashes of this Mini Cooper, which was fabulous. Congratulations here from São Paulo / Brazil to you 👏👏👏
saluted you . proud of you! I wish i could have a small garage like you.
thanks , please subscribe, mk1 mini restoration coming soon
These are Sweet!! I enjoy seeing these things pop up from time to time!!
Saludos Cordiales.
You are a wizard my friend!! God bless your love for that car!
Hello, do not look at the height of the WALL, but the determination that you have to break it. Congratulations and thanks for the video.
Another classic saved from the scrap yard I salute you
What a great montage to finish off the series! No idea how many hours I've just finished watching of your 160 odd videos but it's been great! I'm sure uploading almost daily and having people following along was a great motivator.
Brilliant work, especially in a single garage! Cheers for the entertainment
+Hhmmmmmmmmmm thanks for watching. Mk1 soon
Matt Green yes, really looking forward to that!
I really must work on mine rather than watching videos though! Haha
The music falls in perfect. Love the clip. TOPS.
excellent work with stella artois
The real hand made car. What a sophisticated work!
Loved my mini
Even having to shim or replace the front ball joints every 10 miles 😁
running 5 1/2” J’s? 😀😀😀
Same here!
Oh my ...! What a fantastic restoration work done my friend. Thanks and looking forward for more of your interesting videos soon. Regards.
Loved the vibe on this vid!
Nice choice of background music too :)
I really enjoyed this
Thank you
Hello, from Argentina, the work you did is admirable. That car is the most beautiful in the world and in these parts of the world they do not exist or are very difficult to find. I wish I could do the same and realize my dream one day.
I send you a big hug from a distance.
U r a hell of a mechanic man .... all in one ... mechanical, electrical, a/c, painting, welding, tinkering.... wow .... i love cars though i dont have one and i am passionate about restoring old cars .... though i dont know anything...LOL .... great work dude ... i have to salute your dedication and hardwork ... ONE MAN ARMY ... and by the way, your father deserves an applaude too .....
"jack of all trades , master of none"

Thank you now this gives me motivation to buy the classic mini
Great sir I salute from the beginning to the end done alone👍👍
You did very good...they are worth to be saved..small car big fun on anny road...i am so proud i owned one.
He is one tough guy... awesome..too good.
Like what someone else wrote already, that was very enjoyable 40-or so minutes I spent. Actually I broke it up over a few watches. Haven't checked your other videos...saw a more recent mini covered in the background towards the end. I guess that you have done this before. I have only 'built' an MK in 3D, so it was a nice feeling to see you modify/weld all those panels and see everything assembled and aligned. In an alternate universe, I would love to apprentice (practice) on a shitbox and then 'touch' my own car one day, as you do .... even just the body work. Nothing on engine/electrical side, but...yeah that was very nice to see.
I had a mini, was like a go kart on country lanes!! Loved it.,
amazing work, well done. I think the rear ride hide looks a bit suspect though, it's sitting too high.
Can't you buy a complete shell from British Motor Heritage?
you can , but then legally ( and morally ) that would have been a different car :)
Complimenti! Un artista! Bravissimo!
Mobil yg sangat indah bila mempertahan kan ke aslian nya. Salut buat om om yg menghargai sebuah seni
Nice job mate, considering you never had a proper oven to paint in you did very well 👍
This awesome restoration video brought to you by Stella Artois.
good compilation of videos of Jet Black can t believe all the work that went into it
+Robin Whyatt think I will put a fixed time lapse camera in corner of garage next time
Lol. Super. ( JOB) ;)
congratulations, friend. really I never thought that, I would identify with someone else in restoring a car. working alone
is a great effort and a great sacrifice. but the end result is beautiful . you make a great job
thank you , stick with me for next restoration

I’ve got the bug of restoring a Mini after watching this. That looks like an A+ motor you’ve put in that. 👌🏼
Cool

Juan Carlos Saavedra agree

He's God
Nice.
It’s mad to think of the hours involved.
But well worth it.
Cracking job. 👊😎
I enjoyed every single second! .. that was a GREAT job, and that was SMART!
Magnificent skills Sir perfection an eye for detail job done right the first time your parents must be proud of you thanks for sharing 3.7M views WOW
Thank you very much!
Reminds me when I learnt to drive in a mini 25. Thumbs up.
Cracking...but please don't be like a guy i knew in Brighton back in the late 60s...As a teenager I used to see him working away in his garage nearly every evening and weekend restoring a battered old Austin Healey Sprite to near perfection...he and his car fascinated me and we used to chat often as I passed by. In the end it was beautiful, but sadly I was told that about two or three weeks after completion he wrote the damned thing off, breaking several bones, (and probably his heart), in the process...I never saw him after that, but I still fondly recall that little garage in Lucerne Road....
will try not to mate :)
I watched this a couple years ago.
It's just as fascinating the second time around.
Suddenly I became a fan of you great job buddy
With all the welding work how much of the original car would you say is left? I've seen some where practically every part of the bodywork has been replaced.
Well done mate. You got the magic.
its a really great things to see matt
U're a great person...
I wish i had a record of the cars I restored, I only have a few snap shots of an MG I did a nut and bolt resto on a few years ago, none of the others.
If you don't have one, an joggler/hole punch is a good addition to your arsenal, much easier than drilling,
Good work Matt, better than much of the "professional" work that I have had to put right!.
Regards, J.
Cheers joe.
excellent! great motivation for me personally!

A few yars ago, I had a 1989 Suzuki 800 that I wanted to restore. I had postponed it to be done after the rainy season. Sadly post the wet season, the car was no more worth restoring. Every inch of the hidden metal metal and chassis was rusted.
Looks great, well done.
