Good job Matt, well done, my first car in 1966 was MRK 1 mini, never did like it, felt every bump every pothole. it was a bone crusher.

I saw Matt's Minis in Brighton close up. Matt you did a fantastic job and you should be proud of what you could do in that tiny garage. To do all that welding and repairing himself was a massive achievement. The painting was was awesome. I never thought about sanding down paint and using a polisher would really work until I saw the Jet Black myself. I wanted ask loads of questions about the Red Hot's 16v conversion and hear it running - another day perhaps?

Fabulous video. I don't think I've spent a more enjoyable 45 minutes for a long time. My mum only ever had mini travellers when me & my sisters were kids (used to throw us all in the back!), and I drove a clubman for a few years when I was in my early 20s (until I wrote it off...oops).

Saludos Cordiales.

Like what someone else wrote already, that was very enjoyable 40-or so minutes I spent. Actually I broke it up over a few watches. Haven't checked your other videos...saw a more recent mini covered in the background towards the end. I guess that you have done this before. I have only 'built' an MK in 3D, so it was a nice feeling to see you modify/weld all those panels and see everything assembled and aligned. In an alternate universe, I would love to apprentice (practice) on a shitbox and then 'touch' my own car one day, as you do .... even just the body work. Nothing on engine/electrical side, but...yeah that was very nice to see.

Cracking...but please don't be like a guy i knew in Brighton back in the late 60s...As a teenager I used to see him working away in his garage nearly every evening and weekend restoring a battered old Austin Healey Sprite to near perfection...he and his car fascinated me and we used to chat often as I passed by. In the end it was beautiful, but sadly I was told that about two or three weeks after completion he wrote the damned thing off, breaking several bones, (and probably his heart), in the process...I never saw him after that, but I still fondly recall that little garage in Lucerne Road....

I wish i had a record of the cars I restored, I only have a few snap shots of an MG I did a nut and bolt resto on a few years ago, none of the others.
If you don't have one, an joggler/hole punch is a good addition to your arsenal, much easier than drilling,
Good work Matt, better than much of the "professional" work that I have had to put right!.
