It was entirely unexpected. The 6505+ is embraced by a much wider group of players and I guess that is a good thing for EVH's legacy. I wish Peavey would bring the 6505/6505+ production back to the US. Also I wish they’d build upon it a little bit. Something like the Invective but more 6505. @@Cold_Hearted_World unbelievably loud, but I was able to find a good sound at decent lower volume too...make no mistake though...the 50 watter...is damn near as loud...
I have the Peavey Signature 5150 and I find it to be the most raw and aggressive of all of the 5150s. I think the modern iterations are a bit more tame and polished.
Agreed, I've owned a block letter, a 5150II and the first 6l6 EVH and they got more polished with each version, but less raw. A block letter/signature with the bias mod into a Mesa oversized 4x12 is my preference.
@@greybeard27 I have an oversized MESA as well but I still prefer the 1960B as I think the GT-75's take a pounding better than the Vintage 30's. I guess it depends on the desired result. If I want a curtain of Black Metal then I'd go with the MESA. If I want to assault people then the 1960 is the way to go. Aren't these amazing times where we can discuss all of this. I just love the internet
Polished in a very good way. I have a 6505+, 100w 6L6 stealth and a Mesa oversized 2x12. I love it all. I wouldn’t mind adding a 100w el34 to collection… Also a JP-2C.
@@Hadouken5150 When the 5150 was announced, I expected something kinda lame with, perhaps, a built-in Phase 90. Instead, Eddie gave us an amp that was used mostly by people playing Thrash and Death Metal. It would be like if your grandma baked you cookies made out of fire ants and razor blades. It was entirely unexpected.
The 6505+ is embraced by a much wider group of players and I guess that is a good thing for EVH's legacy. Still, the original pounds the hardest but it is nearly impossible to get anything "clean" out of it. It isn't for everyone.
I wish Peavey would bring the 6505/6505+ production back to the US. Also I wish they’d build upon it a little bit. Something like the Invective but more 6505. I know they designed the Invective to be a modern take on the 6505. But it just isn’t as good as the 6505. It just wasn’t what people wanted. Maybe they should’ve built the amp for some other awesome guitarist. But to be honest I don’t think I really care for many of the new players. Everything I listen to is nearly 20 years or older at this point.
Getting this on Saturday! I’m so excited
Omg that tone Ola is killer 👍
Got the 50w. It's all you need. I jam, I gig. It's awesome.
Season in the abyss riff's like in the beginning of the video😍
Sounding Awesome Ola💥🤘
This is my dream amp
Dude Blue channel setting that sound pretty cool :
GAIN - 3 (U can go higher if you want)
LOW - 2
MID - 8
HIGH - 8
PRSNCE - 5.5
That works for me :3 !
Channel 2 is the business on the 5150iii range
Ch3 is sooo over the top
I run a "Timmy" pedal with no gain and the output choked back to control the gain in channel 3. Works amazingly.
8:16 What is that riff from that you always play whenever you switch to clean modes?
Bro FACTS i need to know!
right
Cowboy chords.
How great is it.
@@Cold_Hearted_World it's really nice, it sounds familiar but I just can't place it
The EVH amps are just pure metal love!
Love mine!! Awesome 100w amp, one of my favorites 🤟🏻
Hey Ola!
I received the "Starzinger" vinyl today. I opened it and there it was. "The Bro that rocks and to never forget it."
You wrote it in your "Amplifier Hangs" Thursday live stream (1:34:00).
Thank you so much, Ola! It's in a frame on my wall as a reminder.
Ola, The Motivator. 🤘
Jesus that riff at the beginning. Hell yes.
That's a killer combination right there! \m/ Rowr!
That amp sounds amazing.
Thought we were getting an Ola cover of Seasons in the Abyss for a second :D
Same
I'm using a kemper profile of the 5150 iii blue channel for live shows. It roars...between that and the triple rec, i'm set with all the high gain i'll ever need.
What's gunna say I sat down and played on this head for 5 minutes at guitar center and I knew what I wanted. Don't get me wrong the only other cab and head I could ask for would be the Mesa recto with v30s
While I don’t have the EVH EL34 100 watt head I do have the EVH 6L6 100 watt Stealth and yes it is a beast in its own right. Amazing amps.
My boi Ola groovin in the beginning. Got me head banging lol
The new fanned fret Solar looks sick 👍
The best look on a Solar design IMO, fits the cutaway contour & headstock shape.
