However! You can toss, chuck, fling, hurl things. Just not throw. Specifically, IN city limits (can’t recall which one), and it only refers to people. Animals? Go ahead. But make sure it’s something like a coyote or a deer, not a cow or a dog.
If it's the law I found then the important part is " As used in this section, "missile" means any object or substance." Missle can mean a lot of things. Also this seems to specifically be about throwing things at vehicles.

the wire over the highway one makes some degree of sense if you are worried about larger semi trucks which are 13 foot high catching on it.
13.5 feet to be exact for many trucks. Federal guidelines cap it at that. Above that, you need a permit as it would be considered oversized.
Last summer I saw at least 3 trucks get stuck going to and from Providence, I know one took at least two hours to get unstuck.
I don't think I've heard the government apologize this much in... ever.
I binge watch this entire series on a weekly basis. You are seriously so good at creating characters that I forget there are not different people playing different characters.

@@KatlynJShute He's only done 32 "joins the table" videos, but there have been more characters. Lots of States appeared before their Joins the Table video (for example, California has been a main character for a long time, but didn't get a Joins the Table video until March of this year). Also, so far only states get join videos.

While the mayor of prov ran his city, his influence was basically felt across the entirety of thr state. Hell, You could say that Cianci *was* Rhode Island, similiar to how Huey Long *was* Lousianna

The answer to that is yes for every northeast state. The mafia had a significant presence in the northeast until they were heavily prosecuted under RICO.
And the funny thing is that most of the mafia run areas are nicer than the government run ones.

In Colorado, there is an actual law allowing us to rip the tags off of mattresses and pillows.
That’s just about manufacturers and retailers. Once you buy it’s yours. Do what you will with them.
Hey, some of these make sense. I know there are some weird ones in Florida and California. Example. Men and boys must get a permit to crossdress as women unless it is for theater in Walnut, California. You can't walk down a street in San Francisco if you are ugly. In Florida, women can't wall asleep under a hair dryer at a salon. No unmarried women parachuting on Sundays. No men wearing strapless gowns in public. No tying your elephant to parking meter without paying the parking fee.
Well that last one makes since
No skateboarding without a license
No imitating animal noises
No singing in a bathing suit
No eating faces. Not even if on bath salts.

As a kid in RI, there was an urban legend that RI and MA had old blue laws on the books letting us kill each other. I heard, a Rhode Islander could kill 1 person from MA per year, like a hunting limit or something. MA was supposed to have a similar law in reverse.
I heard it was a Mass law from colonial days that it was legal to shoot someone coming over from Rhode Island that got discovered again in the 1930's and repealed.
As someone who used to live in Rhode Island, I can confirm that we are all 13 feet tall. We just lose all our height when we either move out of state or someone from out of state comes to visit.
The wire being 14' is for semi truck clearance.

Unloaded trailers sit at 13’6”. Fully loaded trailers are just below the upper faring on the cab which sits at 13’.
I'm a truck driver who lives in Rhode Island. I can confirm this.
@@dr.floridamanphd I'm a trucker. I know this. Did you know that there are other things that can affect the height beside load? Like snow pack on the ground. Most overhead things try to give extra clearance for those reasons
The reason for the 14' rule for wires is actually for big trucks. The average trailer height of a tractor trailer is 13' 6" so the wires are required to be higher than that.

Because it can take 75 years just to grow thier first arm, and populations are shrinking. Not yet endangered, but they take so long to grow they might never recover if they get there. So it's the same reason you can't shoot a bald eagle even if it nests on your property.

In RI, you also can't have a firearm hooked up to the internet. Apparently, they felt that someone would come up with the idea of tele-hunting.
Oh, and until 2015 (IIRC), it was illegal to sell sex outdoors, which meant it was LEGAL to be an indoor prostitute. A legislator just proposed re-legalizing it this year.
It's also illegal for anyone to keep a list of firearm owners. As soon as you purchase it, they destroy the records.

“If you want to read your favorite book to your friends in public you must do it before 2:45 AM”
“You can’t make a ‘disturbing’ sound at a fair”
“Owners of a mule must not let their animal roam unsupervised”
Here are some other weird laws that aren’t just from Athens-Clark County:
“It’s illegal to keep a donkey in a bathtub”
”All Acworth citizens must own a rake“
“Members of the state assembly cannot be ticketed for speeding while the state assembly is in session.”
In Kansas, some towns you must stop outside city limits and fire your gun 3 times to warn the horses of your arrival

A recent weird law in RI is that you have to ask a server or an employee for a straw for your drink. I hate it when I forget because then I gotta wait til they come back over.

On the flip side, DUI checkpoints are unconstitutional, the most famous mayor was convicted of felonies twice (and ran again), and allows 18+ in clubs serving alchohol.
Also the State has some interesting recent history with....selling one's self and no-no dancing under-18 (both changed within the past 15 years or so)
Plenty of bars in college towns allow 18+ in. College freshmen need want to have fun too.

The 14 foot over a roadway law is national and is because trucks are 13' 6" high. keeps a semi from tearing out services when we drive through.
