I'm not a West Ham fan but there seems to be a consensus among broadcasters that they're not allowed to want their club to improve. Moyes has taken them as far as he can and they need someone else to move them forward.

according to the media west ham arent allowed to play attacking progressive football with ambition, we must stay where we and not look to dream and progress as a club… but the likes of villa, newcastle, and brighton can (even tho theyve been relegated in recent times and been regularly mid table) make it make sense?!?! its like newcastle getting rid of rafa or steve bruce and then the media slating newcastle for wanting a young progressive manager in Eddie Howe hahaha

West Ham have 3 league wins since Dec 29. They've conceded 70 league goals this year. We were dreadful in the league last year. We're in good financial shape and this squad is old and in need of a rebuild.

As a club you.. TalkSPORT always put us down. What’s wrong with us having ambition and not just settling for mid table mediocrity? Also, Jim was spot on here, Moyes had a contract on the table (his words not ours) which he refused to sign so for the club to start looking elsewhere is fair game.

not having a pop but personally i just call it being realistic. sure you can have ambition but be realistic while you are at it. where moyes got you in terms of getting into europe winning a cup, saving you from the drop thats a pretty good CV i would say and winning any cup in europe i dont think you could honestly except to achieve much more. like who are you likely to finish ahead of out of the so called top clubs?
you have, Liverpool, Man C and Arsenal pretty much your top 3 right now, then you have Spurs, Utd and Chelsea who if they are playing as they should will be in or right around the 4th to 6th places so that leaves 7th so im struggling to see how if thinking realistically what more you could have hoped for or aspire to with the clubs i just mentioned. thats not even thinking about the likes of newcastle with their money etc, your club has done phenomenal these last few years.

Exactly mate ...We are not saying we expect top 4 or anything outrageous we are saying why can't we play better football whilst competing in top ten for euro places, given the financial strength our club has over the majority of the league.
Moyes has only a handful of wins in 2024, the second worst defensive record in the league, after spending 95m on center backs and playing the most cautious low block football.
He sold our squad depth in jan and didn't replace them because he said he wants a small squad...
Then he blames going out the cups and losing games on the other teams having bigger squads.
Our youth teams have been winning things and he still refuses to use them.
We've spent nearly 500m on incomings in his time and he's built the smallest and 2nd oldest squad in the league.
These are all things that any fan base would question...
We have been in the top 20 euro rich list for a decade but we are the only club in that list not allowed to question poor management.

The media portray Moyes as a solid defensive manager but with two games left to play the team has conceded 70 goals. That's the most conceded since Avram Grant took the club down over 10 years ago conceding 70 goals. Take away Jarrod Bowen's goals and its relegation form. So many thumpings and its obvious that many who question clearly don't go to watch the current dross every week.

WHU fan base expect a manager to take care of his players. Moyes has destroyed his players mentally and in some cases physically. By not rotating he has run his ‘first’ team into the ground (a major reason for the drop in results). He plays them out of position and in a system none of them like or ‘fit’. The players on the bench never get a chance to prove themselves - aren’t match fit as consequence too. Their morale is at rock bottom. Academy players are not brought through because of Moyes - and there are really good players in the Academy. This has created a toxic atmosphere at the Club where many are wanting their exits. Where is Andy Goldstein’s outrage at the treatment of West Ham players by Moyes. Boo hoo David Moyes … you manufactured the situation of your dismissal!

It's not just the end of the season! We've only won 4 games in 2024 and drawn against 2 of the bottom 3, lost to Forest, conceded 70 goals and played some of the most negative football I have ever seen at West Ham. If, as you say, we are top of the second tier of the Premier League then why shouldn't we want to push on and join the top tier? Yes Moyes managed us to a trophy, but some of the football we played under him in the second half of this season has been dire to watch.

I have supported David Moyes from the start. He has been a perfect fit to get us from where we were to where he has taken us, which is clearly a much improved squad and team. We now need someone who can take us to another level and play some more attractive football. Moyes is a legend in my mind for what he’s done for us but it’s time for us to move on. There are many west ham supporters who I know that have never bashed him but feel we need a new manager. It’s just the loudest idiots seem to be the ones who get noticed the most on both sides of this conversation.

West Ham constantly flirted with relegation last season and finally finished 14th. This was largely ignored by them winning the Europa League. They went on to lose a fortune on Scamacca, just like they had on Anderson, Haller, Vlasic and were forced into selling their captain.
This season they have currently conceded 70 goals, equalling the defecit under the awful Avram Grant (which led to relegation) and there's still Luton and City to go. This calander year the only team with a worse defensive record is Sheff Utd. They still rely upon the 34 year old converted winger up front and have let Benrahma, Kehrer and Fornals leave without replacing them. They coneded six against Arsenal, five against Fulham, Liverpool, and Palace, four against Newcastle and three against Utd. How is this 'over achieving'?
Why do the pundits always think West Hamnshould be careful what they wish for, why is this supposedly the best West Ham fans should expect? They have the second largest home support in the Premier League, they are now one of the 15th richest clubs in the world, they have a passionate international support and a proud historynofnproducing top footballers. Why shouldn't West Ham fans want better than David Moyes?
After all is said and done, all West Ham fans really want is to not feel embarassed when they watch their team play, to not want to walk out of matches by half time and to not loose by four, five or six to their London rivals. To have a manager who brings the youngsters through and knows when to make a substitution. They don't expect top four, they just want their team to score more than they concede, to win more than they lose and beat their London rivals every now and then.
Doesn't seem like too much to ask does it?

  • @Michael-ff4pq
    @Michael-ff4pq Месяц назад +1

David moyes has done nothing special at West Ham. He's been lucky taking over at a time when Europe conference were introduced to help lesser teams feel more important. The season he won the europa conference, in the league, they finished bottom half and were fighting relegation. Because they won that meaningless trophy, it helped them get in europa league which made his time at West ham seem better than it actually is. Without the europa conference, West ham get zero European football.

Moyes 100% had to go. I think it's all about consistency of performance. Nobody has any idea from match to match which West Ham will walk onto the pitch. Nobody expects us to win everything but a hard fought loss by a goal is as important (kinda) as a lucky undeserved win by a goal which is where the majority of our points came from this season. Moyes seems to be a 1st half of the season manager... the last 2 seasons he's flopped in the 2nd half. Thanks for the good times but it's time to move on.
