So you can buy any dip powder and mix and match the wet system to apply it? Like i can use kiss wet system and kiara sky dip powder?

Hi! Last night I tried to make my own acrylic dip powder. I used a high definition clear acrylic powder with some eye shadow I scraped into the container and some small sparkles and glitter powder. What should the consistency of the powder be? Cuz mine, I had to almost pat the powder in place or like push my finger against the powder to get it to work. They came out amazing when I was done but it wasn’t the easy just dip my fingers in and be done. Do you have any idea? And any advice? The powder was super soft like flour almost. It wasn’t very “flowy” like acrylic powder is. Do you think there maybe wasn’t enough acrylic powder?
I try to use pigments cause you only need a little. If you use eyeshadow you may change the consistency of the acrylic powder cause you may end up using too much eyeshadow. I would try adding more acrylic powder to the mix. Maybe some of the eyeshadow ingredients are mixing well with the acrylic like silica based ingredients or oils or butters
You can buy a cheap mortar and pestle on Amazon for mixing. It will break down thicker powder to a fine consistency. Pigment powder works better than eyeshadow, but if that is what you have on hand it will work.
No matter what you use, it is all trial and error. Make a note book with what you use and keep track of what works and what doesn't work. You will end up with a recipe book that you can use later if you want to make the same color.

Do you still prefer the SNS system over the Kiara Sky liquid system?
I like SNS for the clear and regular powder (to use as a builder) but I prefer the kiara sky liquid system and color powders :)

What would you suggest I use if I have a dip powder and I just want to make it paler should I use a clear or should I use a white powder
I would use white powder, try mixing in a smaller jar first (tester batch) and then see how it goes. I've used white powder to make a color less intense or more pastel
