What's there to think, INDIA & INDIANS are an indispensable part of ASIA . Asia is a diverse continent and all its Indegenous inhabitants deserve to be called Asians, you don't just give the title to a specific population on their facial features. That's not acceptable.
The whole question is wrong in the first place. Even a Chinese person would say they're Chinese first and then an Asian. It's such an American-centric view that Indians and Asians are different. In the UK, the Asian community is synonymous with Ind, Pak, BD, SL. I never knew that we Indians are not Asians before getting exposed to the American media.
I absolutely agree with Nitish Saxena, this issue specifically originated in an American TV studio and misconception propagated by the American media .

This association of the "Asian" identity exclusively with people who have "Chinese" features is completely an American thing. In Britain, Asian means Indian/ Pakistani/ Bangladeshi. It does NOT MEAN Chinese /Korean /Japanese.
We shouldn't treat Europe as a standard for comparing Asia. Europe is basically made of just 4 ethnic groups: Slavs in East, Mediterranean(Latin) in South, Celts in West and Nords/Germanics in North, and their various permutations and combinations, through millenias of war and migration. Moreover, Europe(excluding Asian Russia), is just about the size of India ! While Asia is huge. You have races that have never met each other. There is no such thing as "Asian culture", as opposed to collective "European culture". The thing that unites Asia is strictly geographical, not cultural. So, a Turk is as Asian as a Malay or a Syrian is as Asian as a Japanese.
I disagree on the point about no similarity. There are a lot of things we have in common culturally with the rest of Asia and even some parts of eastern Europe and southern Europe. I think traditional mindsets are somewhat similar in the "old world".

Given that there are 1.4Bn people, that is a huge target market to capture and cater to. So it's not surprising that more creators focus on stories that cater to local nuances. Just like the good content from Hollywood was acknowledged and appreciated globally, the good content from India will be consumed globally even if they narrate local stories. Marketing them has been less than optimal in the past years; however, post-pandemic, that seems to be changing.
If they believe India is another continent than it is even better so now we have six Continent...I love to be called as an Indian if they reffer it as Continent...
But that comedian why he said Asian then…is he more Asian than anyone else. If he said that He is Malaysian , Chinese etc to argue that it’s really okay. If Someone from Japan becomes a PM in west will Chinese or Malaysian or Indonesian etc relate to him. Not necessarily. Why we should pick a line between Indian and Asian. I would ask him, Pick your line Malaysian or Asian. So will he say he is not Malaysian then? We understand u didn’t relate to Rishi Sunak, even we many Indians don’t relate to him, he basically born there but asking us to Pick between Indian and Asian like that is not good. Not funny. But Okay I m not offended …just want people to know that their perspective is weird, better to be corrected And if he is really playing to American Stereotype then it’s funny and better Americans realize that
India has been the hub of the greatest trade network the world has ever known - the Indian Ocean trade. It has the world's largest diaspora ranging from the Roma gypsies in Europe to the SE Asian Hindus to the bonded laborers in the West Indies and elsewhere - all long before its famed techies emerged in the recent decades. It profoundly shaped global modern life with its early innovations such as steel and refined sugar and the numeral system. All these stories could be terrific movie materials. But will we ever see a Hollywood film on the contributions of the Indian troops - over 1M in WWI and 2.5M in WWII?
Would consider us asians but it's not simple. Indian subcontinent is different. A whole world in itself. Still we bind to the Asia though be it geographically or culturally. Though due to stereotypes by people even many east asians don't consider indians as asian but India would still be considered South Asia. But also trivia India geographically was not part of Asia during pangea time. We were with Madagascar and east Africa. Later we split up and indian tectonic plate hit Asia making the Himalayas. So it's not so simple but i would still consider us part of Asia but we are different world in itself. Probably the most different and diverse region in Asia if you include all subcontinent countries. Also India ln more typical aspects is closer to West Asia and europe(linguistically and native pagan cultures) that's why people in West claim India closer to indo European belt. But they ignore that India has had influence even in east Asia like china Japan Korea indonesia thailand Cambodia laos. So that way indian subcontinent is a bridge and only thing connecting europe and middle East to east asia geographically culturally linguistically. So we are basically in the middle.
Yes, India especially southern India was part of the Gondwana supercontinent and we got separated from the supercontinent and the Indo-Australian plate moved northwards and clashed with Eurasian tectonic plates creating the Himalayas which led to formation of the rivers which led to formation of the Gangetic basin and this was known as North India. But the identity of India as a whole only came to be known after the British colonised us. Before that we were all princely states which existed and were ruled by different kingdoms. There was no Republic of India before Britishers colonised us.
Stereotyping is a way people deal with groups of people they don't know about. It exists everywhere, including Indians about Chinese, etc. It's not necessarily bad until you know the stereotype is wrong.
Asia as a continent geographically includes all lands east of the Turkey. What people feel or prefer does not qualify. China,India,Middle East and all lands with exception of Australia,NZ are geographically called Asian. Everyone has an opinion. Pls guys
"Do you believe Asia a part of India or a seperate continent ?" What kind of a stupid question is that ? India being a part of Asia is a geographical fact and not a philosophical idea to which we can put our perspectives into.
Indians in the north eastern part of India look exactly like Asians. India is now the 5th largest economy in the world. Once our colonizer UK is now behind India, in terms of economy, India has surpassed UK.
I once said 'African' while talking with a Kenyan friend. He got offended. He said he was Kenyan. In the same way, we call people from Europe - Europeans. And people closer to Asia as Asians. And people from S. America are called Latinos. We don't know about each other in our own countries so how the hell can we know about other countries. The brain loves to classify and stereotype. Because they're no-brainers. Not much hard work.
No Asian identifies as an Asian. It’s Westerners who call East Asians as Asians. That’s the racially sort of Asian rather than one in terms of continental . Like say, Latin American. We got to study it as “Mongolian Race” when studying in the primary school. Please do mind that people from the same race live in many places in India and Nepal. So it’s rather an ignorant statement. A native Chinese person would probably not think in that way.
Well the funny part is actually racist. He is making racist comment on himself, that comedian. What does he mean by Asian? That he has certain features which Indians or other countries don't have? Let me talk in his language.. Is he Malaysian or an Asian? He had the mic that's why people listened otherwise there would have no debate at all.
Question is so stupid. The interviewer doesn't know the difference between Country and Continent. If you ask same question to the people of China, they will say he/she is Chinese first then Asian.
Very true it's down to this debate that whether indians consider themselves as asians(stereotypical east asians) or not. Because North East people have commonality with typical east asians. While indians do not associate themselves to be similar to east asians.
The North-East has so much variety from what little exposure I have had to it. There are people who could pass off for East Asian, others might look south-east Asian and some might pass off for South Asian.
i found this kiddish to talk about... you cant name a continent just by the structure of body or face.. even i didnt knew that half of russia, mongolia and china are in asia.. ithought asia is only india pakistan sri lanka nepal afghanistan bhutan malaysia and mayanmar...

This whole thing about referring to East Asians as Asians and excluding South Asians is frankly offensive to me. Asia is a continent, not a race. North America needs a lesson on geography. I'm annoyed when I see people talk about Asians but they're referring to exclusively East Asians. I don't know when this became a norm but I hope it changes.
For me, all latinos can be seen as latinos and americans. But obviously people have more loyalty to their specific ethnic background than the general continent they live on. I rarely ever call myself latina or american, I am Mexican before any of that. But besides that I think the west just chooses not to pay attention enough to the rest of the world and they see it easier to generalize all asians as east asians. It is wrong but the west doesn't care to be correct. Hopefully one day they will.

We understand u didn’t relate to Rishi Sunak, even we many Indians don’t relate to him, he basically born there but asking us to Pick between Indian and Asian like that is not good. Not funny. But Okay I m not offended …just want people to know that their perspective is weird, better to be corrected
And if he is really playing to American Stereotype then it’s funny and better Americans realize that
India has been the hub of the greatest trade network the world has ever known - the Indian Ocean trade.
Indians are South Asians now leave it
Would consider us asians but it's not simple.
Good video after long time! :)
22:00 India has a lot of good series! Watch Scam 1992!
Stereotyping is a way people deal with groups of people they don't know about. It exists everywhere, including Indians about Chinese, etc.
It's not necessarily bad until you know the stereotype is wrong.
South Asian is an newly invented American construct to people from the Indian subcontinent. No to South Asian. There is no such geographical entity.
We are in the continent of Asia...but the rest of the world sees Mongolian gene as Asian...so we are Indian in the continent of asia
Asia as a continent geographically includes all lands east of the Turkey. What people feel or prefer does not qualify. China,India,Middle East and all lands with exception of Australia,NZ are geographically called Asian. Everyone has an opinion. Pls guys
When stupid people argue "are you (ethnic group) or are you (race)?"
"Do you believe Asia a part of India or a seperate continent ?"
What kind of a stupid question is that ? India being a part of Asia is a geographical fact and not a philosophical idea to which we can put our perspectives into.
😂true
Dude the valet from the smelly car episode wasn't indicated as Indian, it wasn't made clear where the odor came from during that episode.
It's all what 'Americans' say... Whatever USA people say just becomes norm
Netflix only invests in Hindi only for original series
Like asking a Parrot if u r a bird or a parrot
Asians dont mean chinese looking people
Indians in the north eastern part of India look exactly like Asians.
Phillipines, Singapore, Malaysia belong to south east Asia. With Australia, Australasia
Aus belong to Oceania
@@mtk3755 thank you. I stand corrected
Squid games has a Pakistani charector, played by a Indian actor.
I am Indian and I am proud to be Asian
No he didn't grow up in America he just visited for 2 days in America and his accent changed that's a normal indian right there
By the way, middle east is ALSO Asia.
Who started this discussion------ A comedian. Well, we in India don't have such an academic degree-----Master in Comedy.
Question is so stupid. The interviewer doesn't know the difference between Country and Continent. If you ask same question to the people of China, they will say he/she is Chinese first then Asian.
Now I get why North-eastern Indians are still discriminated by some so called 'Indians'
Body odour is because of food. We have too much masala in our food which gives us a odour. Most probably because of sulphur. Not deo or something.
Do react to Badmaash Company please. Its Shahid Kapoor’s best movie.
i found this kiddish to talk about... you cant name a continent just by the structure of body or face.. even i didnt knew that half of russia, mongolia and china are in asia.. ithought asia is only india pakistan sri lanka nepal afghanistan bhutan malaysia and mayanmar...
20:35 Forget knowing anything about India, Americans barely know anything about anything outside their own borders you people know stuff about India only in terms of movies and it was so clear in your reaction on the Hanuman trailer..... You guys didn't even know Hanuman or Shiva or Ram you just seem to know the names and nothing else, and I'm not expecting you to know everything there is to know about these deities no, but atleast the basics, atleast recognising Hanuman , but nope you know him as that "thing" SRK had in brahmastra 🤦
Sorry sir, this video seems to be like an exaggerated version of your comments section. LOL.
South east asians are basically Indians but with different eyes. You know because of Buddhist and Hindu empires.
South East Asian are genetically closer to East Asian, but culturally closer to South Asia except Vietnam.
america actualy war country irak, afganistan, vietnam, seria, iran, filistin end goes on end on because largest seller of weapon
So i just watched a reaction channel that s watching and reacting to the reactions of the Indian asians who r reacting to a Asian Chinese stand up comedian saying Indian's r not asians. By the way I know I'm an Asian too but I see myself as a Tamizian From India.
So about that "stand up" routine..... I really don't understand the joke, coz a joke is supposed to have a punchline and an observation and what that guy said didn't have any punchline, atleast I didn't hear one
So if someone did understand the joke or find it funny then please enlighten me
yeah weird things of people can't or finding it difficult to accept people who don't look same like can't accept NE
Representation in popular culture means not RRR she is talking about Indian Representation in America n world cinema, if you watch those animation n big bang theory they potray Indian as a stupid comedy gig, Im happy that "Never have i ever" series doing well
You're saying bbt portrays Indians as a comedy gag and Never have I ever doesn't ? That's the cringiest horrible show which makes caricatures of Indians and shows Indian-Americans as some amazing people
No i consider myself Human
What a dumb question
This whole thing about referring to East Asians as Asians and excluding South Asians is frankly offensive to me. Asia is a continent, not a race. North America needs a lesson on geography. I'm annoyed when I see people talk about Asians but they're referring to exclusively East Asians. I don't know when this became a norm but I hope it changes.
React to SAHEB'S WHO NEVER LEFT part 1 documentary ..must watch
For me, all latinos can be seen as latinos and americans. But obviously people have more loyalty to their specific ethnic background than the general continent they live on. I rarely ever call myself latina or american, I am Mexican before any of that. But besides that I think the west just chooses not to pay attention enough to the rest of the world and they see it easier to generalize all asians as east asians. It is wrong but the west doesn't care to be correct. Hopefully one day they will.
Some indian should also stop saying northeast indian are not indian
seriously im someone who never thing about im asian.....im indian ... emotionally never feel im asian...its just geographical things only
Americans laugh if it's a Malaysian or a Canadian joking about anything that's not Nazi related. I mean Justin Trudeau was hated for welcoming a Nazi sympathizer into his parliament, when even anything like that happens, Americans specially stop laughing and become very serious.
Most Westerners think whole of India is like Skid row.
australia is a continent?? i thought its Oceania
Yes South Asian 😊
There's nothing called South Asia.. Its Indian subcontinent
Y not a Indian
@@filmicreels476 yes if someone specifically asked which country you are from 😊
@@filmicreels476 Indian is the nationality not a race
Indians not asian is as legit as Korona being a Chai neej vi rus debate all day n prove me wrong
The Simpsons changing the voice actor was so unnecessary man. Who cares if its an actual indian or not lmao. The show is supposed to be racist to everyone and is supposed to be offensive af. People just got softer over time.
@Korbin .. React to "Vazhakk" trailer..!!

North-Indians always call South-Indian "Madarasi" means Chennaiite North indians only job is crying on Tamil and Tamil Language and Tamil people cultures they're so much insecure about us.Linguistics are proved that "TAMIL" is the oldest language and oldest surviving language till date with PROOF but these northies still jabbering "sanskrit" is older than TAMIL

Ok Tamil is older ....then what ..?
Bro what 😂 I'm a tamilian and I don't run around screaming abt it coz I'm secure about me, my language and my culture...... What you're showing here is that you're clearly insecure and have a deep rooted inferiority complex, go get some help
China ≈ Asia, thank you USA.
If people think what the comedian said is funny....they have well and truly lost their standards of comedy...I am not offended by what he said...I am offended by the fact that people think that THIS is comedy
Please see the ROLEX entry scene
