I agree with everything you’ve said. Having a authentic personality goes against the world norm. We stick out like a sore thumb and people tend to disagree with and not like us. Since birds of a feather flock together. Meaning people need to surround themselves with others that support their unhealthy attitude and behaviours. A alcoholic, druggie will hang around others with the same addiction.. They become agitated with individuals that refuse to succumb to their pressure to conform to their bullying tendencies. Change or we’ll attack and reject you or anyone. That holds themselves to a higher standard.

I value authenticity so deeply. Yet in some ways struggle to be authentic myself. I find inauthenticity in other people extremely annoying. I hate it even more if i do something that's not authentic to myself. So then I find myself criticizing others who do it too D:

Guys trust your gut. You can tell if a person is genuine by these tips, sure, but also use the tips to restore confidence back into yourself and your judgment. If someone gives you a weird vibe and you want to leave, just do!! I wish you the best, stay safe lovely human!!

I have a goal to become authentic. Also have CPTSD diagnosed but I’ve found these points helpful to perhaps take to my psych as little goals to get better at

Yes and also, as a DV survivor, I have to learn how to be more authentic. I got so used to being whomever he wanted me to be in order to keep myself safe, that I lost my own identity. I would just take on his favorite foods, ideas, interests, political opinions, basically anything that made him who he was, I tried to embody. I think it was my way of trying to people please him and keep the calm, so we would fight less. Now I’m no longer in that relationship. Despite that, I was in it for 8 years so I have to relearn how to be my more authentic self. I’m with my now husband of 17 years, and he WANTS me to make my own decisions regarding what I like, what I believe in, etc. He’s frustrated that I STILL tend to adopt the personalities of other people around me. Especially if I worry they don’t like me or worry they’re upset with me. It’s a survival mechanism. I’m still trying to reprogram myself even after being safe for nearly 2 decades now. That’s actually why I even looked to RUclips for a video about how to be more authentic. Thanks for making this! ❤

Typo in the subtitles I think:
3rd - they "rarely" gossip instead of really gossip about others

How do you know if your being your authentic self or not ??

You will feel the innate disingenuous or “cringe” feeling when you start to behave someone you don’t feel like it’s you but even than that it can be a personality trait about you that you haven’t explored yet but don’t get that confused with being genuinely inauthentic

if you're being true authentic self then you'll fell calm inside ur heart after saying something or doing something,
and what's important it's not always like that in that exact moment
sometimes being authentic is not comfortable but when some time pasts by and you feel like what you have done or said feels right for you and you feel calm or happy after doing/saying it you got this you're true to yourself and you're authentic
      love u
      i hope it helped a bit😊

@@tippytopdrawer thanks glad it did! And not yet fully lol , I got off track because I noticed I started having trouble creating a clear image of what “authenticity” means and how I can align my behaviors with it & what exactly it means to do so. So now I’m figuring out how to take effective notes when reading books/articles & video formats for this topic/subject as taking notes effectively are different for each topic/subject for example math, science, history, etc all required different note taking methods but anyways with those notes I have I’ll input those into the Paul Elder critical thinking framework so I can then write me out an essay to clearly explain it , almost will be like a manifesto/ debate so I can then finally present my arguments to other people and let my views be challenged so I can eventually find the truth and answers so I can finally express it to the world in either a blog post or YV video lol so yeah it’s a pretty rigorous process I’m putting it through

You are saying if a person criticizes others they aren't being authentic. That makes no sense at all. Believe it or not but some people are awful and a pointing that out doesn't make you a liar.
