Pavilion was cool. Im from Ohio and vacationed there a few years back. I was kinda young probably about 12 and can remember Hurricane, the Log Flume and the other good rides that made the park what it is....well was I guess.
i went to myrtle beach a month ago and we went to the ocean blvd and i seen it was just a big field now and just few trees but we lived there since i was born and we moved away in 2005 wished i still lived there today
Lol. I know ur comment is old. but it made me laugh soo much, i was tickled lik a lil kid. but yea the rainbow was one of the scarest ride i ever rode. i use to scream so loud on it. i miss the pavilion as well.
This makes me miss my childhood. I never got to grow up enough to ride the big rides before they shut it down. I remember the last time we went, they said that lightning had struck some of the rides and shut them down and they were waiting on parts to fix them. So, instead we went to Family Kingdom. It wasn't as much fun, but it ended up being the amusement park we went to the last time we went as a family. I went back to Myrtle Beach with a friend only to find the Pavilion gone. So sad.
Me and my friend used to go with our family every year from 1980-1997. When we were 11 we would go by ourselves to the pavillion around 6pm and peek in a few trash cans and find 2 bracelets to let us ride the rides all night, every night.. Great times! Miss the old Myrtle Beach, it sucks now, Virginia Beach is my new adult fav and the two kids love it! R.I.P.eaces PAVILLION
@JohnnyBear3 lol though the thing I couldn't stand no more of that park was its music it played. They had the same playlist of songs playing over & over again for years. Got kinda sick of the disco music.
I’d never been to Myrtle until after this was demolished. Seems like it was very liked and missed. Kind of a shame it’s former location has just been an empty lot since 2006. It’s got a great location for nearly anything.
@gotthkid2 Well in the highschool I go to there is goths/preps/nerds like any other school but a lot of camo jackets. I don't really like the style though.
Great job making this video! I've been going to this amusement park since I was little! Planning to vacation there in a couple of weeks too! So blessed to live near Myrtle Beach SC!
What a great video. Thanks very much for posting.
i miss that place im glad i rode them all b4 it was closed
Yes, the ride at 24 is the Rainbow. It was my favorite ride at the Pavilion. The Rainbow had been there since 1985 or 86, whichever year they got it.

Good idea capturing the magic before it is gone.

This video is almost 11 years old, but I can't express the happy emotion I feel, walking down memory lane right now.
