DeWalt has a very nice 1/2 inch drive 20 v cordless impact gun....perfect for that extra torque on those binders. Those look like someone got a really good deal on manual slack adjusters since everything is automatic slacks now and just welded a threaded pipe in where the S-cam would go. They seem to work really good and you're right Mike the regular ratchet binders always end up getting loose. Well, it's really a neat story how these came to be. We manufacture the original speedbinder as a oversized version for the barge industry inner waterways division. They wanted more torque for the cables so we prototyped a slack adjuster onto a speedbinder barrel and "hocus pocus"..... torque drive was born!! Didn't work well on the barges but is absolutely awesome for the trucking industry. The economies of scale is what makes this product work financially. I think they look like they should work well. Biggest problem I see with them is if someone goes a little nuts on their cordless drill or impact and breaks their wrist when the binder is tight and the tool keeps spinning.
Amazing that the drill had enough torque to tighten them properly. I would always keep the impact gun in the cab with a spare battery as the batteries(lithium) don't like cold.

They look great so far from what you and Captain Kleeman have shown. I’ve only ever used bear trap binders with a cheater pipe, launched the pipe over the skid steer into the bosses new F-350 too when I slipped and landed on my ass in the snow. A ratchet binder would’ve been a huge improvement in personal safety and load security too.
👍👍👍😀 I always carry a Dewalt impact wrench with charger and extra batt. for tire changes. I have an inverter to keep a battery fully charged. It's not that involved to install inverter with a relay so that inverter is only on when engine is running so that it doesn't run truck battery down.

It's good to always look for more efficient ways to accomplish tasks. You may want to think (long term) at getting an on-board air compressor. Air tools with more torque, changing a tire, etc... Inverters, batteries, can be fragile & finicky. Just a thought....
Look into getting the 60v max batterys. They will run 20v tools like that drill and will have triple the battery life, i have there 1/2 xr impact and it holds battery forever. Definitely look into getting the 12 amp hour batterys they are even better than the normal 6 amp hour

Looks like they beat the chin buster binder all to heck.
They do for sure
Did they give a discount code?
No there is not sorry
OH !! HEPPY NEW YEAR!!
Thanks
Nicely cleaned windshields. Lol
Was frost 🤷♂️
They look great so far from what you and Captain Kleeman have shown.
I’ve only ever used bear trap binders with a cheater pipe, launched the pipe over the skid steer into the bosses new F-350 too when I slipped and landed on my ass in the snow.
A ratchet binder would’ve been a huge improvement in personal safety and load security too.
lol that’s not good 😂 and yes we love them
Merry Christmas!
You can always get an inverter for your truck and plug your charger for the dewalt batteries.
Lol I have stay tuned
You have an air line off the truck. Why not use an air drill?
Cordless is handy
👍👍👍😀 I always carry a Dewalt impact wrench with charger and extra batt. for tire changes. I have an inverter to keep a battery fully charged. It's not that involved to install inverter with a relay so that inverter is only on when engine is running so that it doesn't run truck battery down.
There is also a charger with 12VDC input for keeping your batteries charged, have not tried it I always had or have 120 power to charge batteries.
Exactly guys thanks for watching
@@raymondhinds3539 Thanks for that. I didn't know about the charger that plugs into lighter socket. That would have saved me the install of the inverter, but I often use the inverter for other stuff, so I don't feel too bad.
Will they work manually if the screw strips out?
Yes
Dirt Perfect well then they are cool, hate to think you get one tight and screw strips out lol
so they got the idea from a slack adjuster from the air brake system on road tractors. great idea !dang I should of thought of that !LOL
Lol yup similar
I would forget the drill on tbe trailer. No doubt.
😂😂
chaining to rub rails you must not have a DOT checkpoint near you lol giving you a heads up they do ticket for that talking from experience I got the big ticket one day nice video by the way
Stay tuned video coming on that
No disrespect I love your videos
Rick Scott you got a ticket for that in Indiana?
@@CaptainKleeman yes sir DOT said D-Rings and chain pockets are for securement rub rail is what it's called a rub rail. not all officers around are on top of their game but you will run across one that knows the proper securement someday like I did
I still like the old ratchet binder cause I can at least feel me squting the tires and know the load is tied down tight ,.I just don't think a drill will get it tight enough just my opinion,I'm kinda old school
Disagree 100% getting them tight is not a problem at all
@@DirtPerfect Will the drill get them that tight on steel tracks ,cause you no as well as I do shit comes loose ,and my other thing is in the buffalo ny salt I wounder how they would do ? Keep me up to date ,,merry Christmas to u and family
Mike Muniak nope not these they will get tighter than you can ever get it by hand
Merry Christmas
What you already know but did not mention. If the battery in the drill/driver dies use a socket to tighten and loosen. And, mine were only $10.00 each more than standard binders. No problems with them except I need them in a higher load capacity for the next level of load.
Any coupon on these these things are like $104 now
Not right now sorry
I may be wrong - but think I’ve seen many tightening those with cordless impact vs a cordless drill....? Milwaukee M18 fuel cordless impact 👍🏼👍🏼
Stay tuned videos coming
Dirt Perfect 👍🏼 been watching ur videos for a while, new subscriber though. Good stuff.
Thanks appreciate that glade your enjoying the channel 😁
Hey look a sweet John L Grove lift
Milwaukee makes DC chargers doesn't Dewalt??
Yes dcb119 is the DC charger
Ok I should read all the comments before I do🤦🏿♂️ As impact gun has already been mentioned!!!
lol your all good bill
Nice binders but I too think it would be great to have a ratchet built in just in case your battery runs out. I guess you could have a 1/2 ratchet in the tool box. I am going over to take a look at them.
We haven’t had a problem and love them
they need a manual operation option just in case
Robert Phillips they have a manual option...
@@CaptainKleeman yup it's called a speed wrench. People said those things were obsolete...
Hey that's an idea for a video for your channel. You with the drill and DP with a speed wrench. See who wins.
BarnyardEngineering that would be a great idea! Im thinking dirt perfect with a holster and western music, a tumble weed blows by...cut to captain kleeman holding a speed wrench with a quick drum/electric guitar hit...we size up like a UFC weigh in, then sprint to the binders.
It's good to always look for more efficient ways to accomplish tasks. You may want to think (long term) at getting an on-board air compressor. Air tools with more torque, changing a tire, etc... Inverters, batteries, can be fragile & finicky. Just a thought....
Possibly have more upgrade on the way
Oh, you mean those things Kleeman's been using for the past two months?
Lol yup
Thay look ok to use have to look into them
Dewalt does make a charger that uses the cigarette lighter outlet in the vehicle
Yup may just have one 😜
Look into getting the 60v max batterys. They will run 20v tools like that drill and will have triple the battery life, i have there 1/2 xr impact and it holds battery forever. Definitely look into getting the 12 amp hour batterys they are even better than the normal 6 amp hour
What we have has been working great
You need to keep the ratchet binders out of the rain and they work fine mine are at least 15-20 years old and I haven’t sprayed them once.
The rain is not the problem it’s the dirt roads and I am not going to stop and unchain when there is a chance of rain 🤷♂️😁
so i cant drive my truck all winter just to keep my binders dry ?
Cough cough Bs!
My Dad lost an eye thanks to a cheater pipe sliding off a binder while strapping down equipment. I'm defiantly digging this idea!
Bummer hate to here that but I do live these
So you dropped off the JGL off at Logger Wades sawmill. This ought to be interesting
Lol it was
Never heard a binder called a boomer must be a midwest thing. They look very easy
Lol same here! "Binders"
lol 🤷♂️ what we call them
That's what they called them around here in Oklahoma. Lol
Pull it tight and when it goes over center while chaining poles to a trailer makes a bit of a booming sound. Has something to do with the old treatments used on power poles. If it didn't make a sound we had to shorten another link. Had a totally different sound when doing CCA poles.
I have been hauling in Iowa for 40 years and never heard the term Boomer until finding Mike.
Them binders are easy to get to length easer than old ones sealed good no dirt can get in
Yes really well made
they look sweet
They are love them
i use maxibinders for most of my stuff
Those are great, but in my opinion I feel safer using an impact to tighten them, but that’s just me, but they are badass
Yup check out a few if the newer videos
A cordless half inch impact would be better than the drill less twisting on your wrist while tighting down and not causing the to burning up
3/8th impact work great...no twisting...a 1/2 inch will spin wheel studs off...a bit too much for the gear set. Thanks for watching.
Good stuff!!! Carry two drills!!!
Thanks got a drill a an impact
Where are you based outta of
Southern Indiana
Looks like a oversize slack adjuster
They work awesome
I'd paint a stripe on one end so you can quickly orient the handle. You could use those to pull on ICFs to get walls straight. I'd have a ratchet, socket and speeder on hand. Just in case.
btw, speedbinderS.com speedbinder.com without an S gets you to an office binder company.
Cool......
Lol and thanks for the link mark
Speed binders are the best new tools you'll never look at them the same way..faster hold stronger and better chain hold..
I agree
I don’t drive a truck or haul anything but I did my toolbox would be full of them
issue i see is what happens when you derby contractors who are hard on tools round out the hexi bolt on the speed binder ??
there super easy to replace.... ruclips.net/video/nssbHlwyAA8/видео.html
Charles Serong good customer service and easy to get parts from them if we need too...but I can’t imagine that scenario without a little forewarning that would allow for preventive maintenance
It’s replaceable and not a big deal
@@billiardbrawler the only reason i posed the question as it looks like it i precast all in 1 syatem ... and we all know that a certain evansville "fireman" and a certain Derby "mayor" would pull it apart using a grinder and cutter lol
