The track at Kearney needs to be boycotted by RMRW. 3 years now it's had issues with track prep, and timing lights. Not to mention the boards are nearly unreadable due to so many lights either out or malfunctioning. Imagine you've fought and clawed your way to the top of your class, only to get taken out by the timing system invalidating a pass that was obviously good. I can only imagine that there are some racers FUMING about the whole situation there.

The FC RX7 thats been here on Race Week has been my favorite car to keep track of all week. I'm a huge cleetus fan but rotary engines steal my heart. Go little 2 rotor go!!!!
MAN for me its the highlight of the event. Day 1 it started with the rotary spilling apex seals joke and what not, and turns out is been running like a champ engine wise. No hiccups, only the trans issue and its running consistent mid 10s@ 140 on 100 degree weather!! Epic!!
So the only problem with Fred turning in a 4.60 and Doug turning in a 2.54 is they don't have the cage certification to run that speed. lol Also that conversation with Chet was hilarious.
Thats really kind of BS to have your timing system messed up on an event that requires times and making tom not have enough time to run what he wants...
This is the first race week video that explain to me there's an 8th mile class. Thank you that's been confusing me all week. I hear people talking 8 Mile numbers but it's a quarter-mile track so I was confused. Now I know thanks to you guys.
The track owner should be embarrassed as hell to have a big and well known event happen and have the timing system and lights in such poor repair. He obviously doesnt give a damn about his reputation
@@keithnichols7926 Nah man these timing lights run off simple chips connected to lights and a rudimentary computer to count the clicks. Should be good to operate at 250c.
That rx7 is sooo bad ass! Sounds soo friggin cool, to trap mid 140s that easily is super impressive Something about seeing a 8 second limo thatll never get old
Went back and randomly played back passes at the slowest speed possible. That timing system was off by .25 - .50 in almost every pass. At this point it is what it is. Just thought it should be pointed out. 🦅🇺🇸✌️
The real MVP here is 1320 Video! Filming all week long, tons of hours AND do all the awesome editing. Most people don't realize how much it takes compressing gigabytes of whole day shooting with multiple cameras into a 1+ hour long video. Mad respect!😎👍

In all honesty, the parts available these days is the big reason rotor durability has gotten better. The Vargus bros are decent at throwing one together, but then again 1000's of others can do the same. Those guys just got a lot of recognition. I honestly think they are very middle of the pack if you compare them to builders from the 3 countries I mentioned earlier

That front suspension travel is sumpth'n else, we hear it lifts about 9 inches, squats in tha back and BOOGIES! He suffered the same as did many trying to find that elusive traction.

I say fuck it and allow more cars to enter and run as many of these across the country as possible, unless the EPA starts coming after car/track owners for these events. Also not sure that the Feds could even do anything really about your car unless they just impound it. But this track was nothing but problems... bad surface (that many cars out of the groove by the 60 ft mark is unacceptable) and the timing system is useless. They should scrap all times from today as there is no way to guarantee the system ever functioned properly the entire day and def never come back to Kearney without a review of the surface and systems prior.

I haven't heard any of the companies that actually MAKE the tuning parts and such get any sort of fines. Why not go after that big guys?... oh right, they fight back with lots of money and lawyers and tie these cases up for years and the EPA loses. Small guys have to pay just to keep from losing their lively hood. In the end we all know it has ZERO to due with emissions and is all about control of the public.
There's Unmatched sportsmanship in the race culture, how many other sports do you see competitor's care enough to help each other do there best. Any other sport would happily pass by another teams broke down bus in hopes they don't make it to take a easy win.

So far my notes for Race Week are- cooling, cooling, and more cooling. Then add some more cooling. Thinking a wagon or hearse with nice cold AC is the way to go. Keeping the driver cool and hydrated is important.
For future reference... When you have to dangle a brake caliper, instead of crimping the line and maybe damaging it, take the brake pads out and zip tie a piece of wood or a dead blow hammer in the caliper and let the caliper squeeze on that. The caliper just needs something to keep the pistons from over extending. This works for burn out contests too. A piece of 2X4 is perfect.
Hey, now. DSMs are perfectly reliable as long as you know how to replace every part of the car on the side of the road, have a spare transmission in your pocket, and don’t mind getting 10k miles per timing belt and oil pump. My DSMs both regularly go all the way to my work without trouble. Sometimes back home, too!
My favourite statement of the week so far is, "less than an inch" the turbo movement, lol. His "crew chief", isn't as calm as last year. I hope him and his dad, finish the week, with a flourish of speed and style. They are my favourite car and team again this year, just as they were last year. Watching a load of these EPA videos, something occurred to me that you can legally buy a super car but you cant turn your standard car into a super car.., where is the logic in that?.., I also see this isnt only affecting cars but motorbikes also as Akrapovic exhausts were also fined $80K+.., take one look at the freedom factory for example to see the huge sum's of money that is going into local economy or even Race Week going on right now, your talking ten's of millions of $$$ across the states that would be lost whilst the US government continue to receive huge sums of money from lobbying for huge companies who pollute the planet.

It's likely the prolonged and unusual heat that's affecting the clocks. Maybe they need to drop a few bags of ice on the system.
