Watch Blue Murder that was televised in Australia in 1995. Absolutely brilliant
yep it was banned in nsw till about 2000 i think, great show. i went to school with his son in newcastle in the 90s
Hi everyone, my apologies for not explaining the final part of the fight. I had a technical issue and lost that segment.
But apparently after all the Knockdowns it was declared a no contest. Because nobody gave in. Although Ned Smith maintained that he won. Graham Abo Henry was there, so he would know the outcome.
But considering the size difference I would say a moral victory for Tom Domican.
Thank you for watching

A mate of mine fought boxer Johnson in Parramatta jail in 78 or sparred i should say Kevin Holland Johnson gave up in the second round if I knew how to load a picture up on here I have a pic of it..Holland punched holes in neddy Smith as well as a great man and probably harder than all these men by the name of Billy Tracy that man could bang
Abo will do anything to shit on smith. His recollections of his past life are clearly blurred by his hate for smith, founded or not

@mattlegg1976 Loving this channel and it's content, Matt, cheers.
Watch the movie "Chopper". Mark NEVER attacked civilians, he only ever attacked fellow criminals. Arguably 'Chopper' is Australia's most revered, respected, and feared genuine hard man. He passed away years ago to cancer - he was, as the actor Eric Bana who played him in the movie 'Chopper', and so many others would say 'funny as all fuck". He lived a genuinely hard life since being born, for Mark there was only ever one lane - criminality, murder, violence.
How ironic that the most corrupt police detective in Australian history Roger Rogerson featured in this episode
Yeah I've been learning about him 👍🥊

The film "Blue Murder" is well worth a watch...a three hour film...quite a violent film.
Hi Matt, great as usual, during the 80s and 90s in NSW prisons there were many tough and hard men with big reputations for fighting. One thing most have had in common was that they met early, untimely, and tragic deaths either in gaol or when outside of gaol. In reference to the size of a person I remember someone saying that regardless of how big, how tough someone is that in 100 years nobody will be able to tell difference - you know what that means.
Great message, I know exactly what you mean.
Thank you very much 🥊👊

Ah wow. Thank you very much 🥊
The most important thing he left out is the fact that my father Tom Domican is an innocent man and was set up by corrupt police and government officials and got him put in prison on false evidence and that he fought the government and police in High Court of Sydney Australia and was found totally innocent of all the trumped up murder charges and was released after he had spent 6yrs of his innocent life in prison by dirty rapist informers that the corrupt cops and prison officials had used and released back into society who tried to murder a young girl those scum should have been given life sentences for everything they done to my father, who is a great union leader who cared for his fellow workers and who got all the workers their pensions and wage rises they deserved in the 70,s and 80,s in Sydney Australia and all the other states in Australia he should have never been in prison at all because he was and is innocent of all false charges he faced, and won his cases in high court in 1996,and is free and healthy today still doing what he loves representing the underdog, the hard working men and women of all Australia 🇦🇺 so before anyone else ever thinks of talking about my father they should research the full history of him first,

Matt do a deep dive into Tom’s life, talk about colourful. He is an absolute legend. I owned a boxing store in Dublin in between Toms apt and his gym, he would go training for 2 hrs twice a day and come in for a cup a tea an a chat everyday. He was 73 at that stage, solid as a rock an game as they come. He would ask young guys who came in the shop if he could go sparring with them. He once challenged an ex pro boxer turned politician in Sydney, who was half his age to a charity fight for 1 million Australian, guy turned it down of course!
Wow! That's brilliant. I really appreciate that message.
I'd love to know more about him .
Thank you
Is he back in Ireland nowadays then?
All the best 🥊👊
He was back for a brief couple of years there from 2014 or so but did return to Australia after that. He helped to train some guys while home, 1 or 2 of whom went on to have good pro careers. Toms personality is electric, he has an infectious energy that when you finish talking to him makes you feel like doin 30 rounds. He loves all fight sports with a passion an when you mention boxing, MMA even karate he switches on an just lights up. All walks of life used to come to my shop for trainin gear he would help them pick gloves etc. He would drop down an push out 50 press ups in a heartbeat an absolutely nobody could guess his age, they used to say late 50’s early 60’s. Wham he was mid 70’s at that time He had so many unbelievable stories, so unbelievable I must admit I had to research them myself but I stopped once I realised there was newspaper articles to back up everything he ever told me. Tom is one of those guys that would never pass anyone on the street he would literally give you the shirt of his back but if you ever crossed him, kindness is not what you will remember him for! I miss him dearly since he moved back. Love the page Matt big big fan.
What wouldn't call Tony Abbott a pro fighter . He had acouple of amateur fights at University. Probably against other jesuit book worms

When I was in the Bay Neddy was playing around in his garden bed. Roger Rogerson got pinned for murdering a drug dealer and in the Geriatric wing. I was in wing 7 . Full of gangbangers, lifers etc. I had to laugh one day...a mate (The "Bowie knife murderer") came upto me in the yard and asked "Hey Pete do ya reckon I'll get bail? I smiled up at him (I'm 6'3") and replied "I'll pray for ya mate"
He got 24 years. Nice guy who copped a shit situation. A drug debt was owed to him and his mate ended up stabbing him downward into his shoulder. He reached and pulled it out and stabbed the other fella in the chest.
Fuck, the stories I could tell about Long Bay Gaol and the characters in there...

Growing up as a Neighbours fanatic in the 1980s, I had no idea that Australia was such a deadly place! 😆 That hitman character reminded me so much of the way people talk about one of the hardmen from these shores from yesteryear. Never away from trouble, it seemed..
I totally agree.
I had a rose tinted view of Australia aswell, lol

Yeh I grew up here in Qld . It was a rough place. In the 80 police corruption and political corruption was rampant. Our premier of Qld was corrupt Joe and during the 80s all the strip joints and illegal casinos had uniformed police officers on the doors not undercover but wearing their uniforms. I'm not kidding you and I'm not talking about one club but dozens. They had tv stories about this and finally it was called Fitzgerald inquiry that exposed the corruption but everyone knew about it. It was so in your face they never tried to hide it. But yeh Sydney and Melbourne very dangerous and Qld you were more likely to get knocked by a copper then anything.

@@mattlegg1976there is 2 Stan the Mans. The other was allegedly one of the most vicious old school crims Sydney has ever seen. He worked with 2 of the guys mentioned in this video, McPherson and Freeman. Chopper would fight, no probs, but he was never known as a "HARDMAN" ( except maybe to a mob of little hangers on he seemed to attract ) , Chopper's style was to arm up, with wateva weapons was available, mostly prison shanks ( knife's or stabbing weapons made from any number of items ), or legs off tables etc, wateva, during his infamous spell when he had his gang and fighting other gangs in prison ( sorry can't recall the name he declared them to be ) they would all requisition old WW2 ARMY GREATCOATS the prison had a stock of, for winter time as these were so thi k and well made that they helped to hold up a thrust or slash from a shank, plus would also have magazines across the belly & chest area and taped to one at your back, as they are ideal to stop a stab from a knife. But I've wandered off here a bit, but NO Chopper wasn't known as a tough hard fighter, he allways armed up, inside and outside with guns, he actually shot and killed one of my close mates ( that's was Choppers confession when he was dying from liver cancer, but it did add up on the time and area he alleged it happened, if it went down how he said, I can't believe my mate slipped up so bad, as Chopper had allready shot him in the back from the rear seat of his car years before, and if Chopper was honest he let him check his pistol out ( still loaded ) and he shot him, this was only a couple of years before Chopper died, so he fucken carried a grudge for decades, RIP SID !!.

"Blue murder" was the infamous tv series made about Neddy and Roger Rogerson { a detective now serving time for murder who gave Ned the green light for commiting crimes at will without prosecution from him} The cop in your shorts Mick Drury was the target of a failed murder plot and shot at his home, he was investigating the group. Ned was a cold blooded killer but a devoted husband and family man he got parkinsons later in life and prison life was hard at the end but he was a fascinating character. The tv series was banned in several states because of the many ongoing court cases The infamous Dale "Mr renta kill" moved from Melbourne to Sydney at that time and ended up disapearing. Flannery had lunch tattoed on his stomach. Not the brightest crew but amongst the most villanous.

Has anyone seen the Australian film Blue Murder it's based on Neddy Smith and the corrupt cop Roger Rogerson. One of the best out there.
Matt, given your life of violence, legitimate and otherwise, I have to say what an engaging and decent bloke you are.
In complete contrast to you, I had the dubious pleasure of sharing the same local as Paul Sykes around 1978-1980. His behaviour, particularly towards women, who were often accompanied by terrified husbands, was vile. The pub was the Spagled Bull in Earlsheaton Dewsbury.
One incident that took place in the taproom on a Sunday afternoon springs to mind. In those days pubs only opened from 12pm-2pm on Sunday afternoons. Paul Sykes and a dozen or so blokes were talking about boxing. For no apparent reason Sykes took exception to something one of the lads said and wouldn’t allow anyone to leave until 4pm.
Thank you very much James, I appreciate your kind words.
That is shame that Paul Sykes had that type of character, because he would have been a real legend.
In the documentary he came across funny at points, and articulate, but also a bully towards the family.
I can imagine what he would be like when drinking.
And you have been there yourself and seen it first hand.
Thank you for a great message.

As a rew have mentioned already, the film "Blue Murder" is an excellent account of these times. I lived in Kings Cross in Sydney in the early 80s, saw Roger Rogerson (the cop in the clip at 4:25 )around often, only ever spoke to him once, he's in jail for life for murder.
He murdered a guy name Warren Lanfranchi (who stole ny car).
He was an arsehole.
Very interesting, thank you for the message.

Rogerson also murdered an asian guy with another ex-cop didn't he?
hes dead isnt he?
@@mattlegg1976 Blue Murder is one of the best crime mini-series ever made. Multi award winner. Streaming services have it. Apart from losing his job, Roger Rogerson pretty much got away with his crimes of the time.
Rogerson eventually went to prison for life. He couldn't stay away from corruption and the game and was finally caught. He and a partner in crime killed a drug dealer at a storage facility. Proof caught on camera if not the actual crime.
Story was told in "Blue Murder: Killer Cop" with same director and 2 main leads. Sadly, have not found it since the ABC broadcast it.
My mate told me about this fight ages ago I was in the Nik with Ned we were in the medical section even tho he was in a wheel chair and sick he was still a scary man his eyes cold .I have to add he was kept seperate but I would see him now and again exchange a quick gday when he was wheeled past while I waiting to get X-rays and so on .
He was kept seperate because of the possibility young clowns wanting to fight or knock him to make a name it’s always the case young inmates wanting to fight famous crimes past their prime and over 70 it’s ridiculous.

@@mattlegg1976 You should do one on Ian Saxon the biggest hash importer Australia has ever seen. not to mention brought all the 70s n 80s rock stars to australia n thats how he was able to do it not to mention escaped from long bay n no one new how he did it for over 20 odd years.
👍👍👍
🥊👊
Another great video mate
Thank you 👊🥊
Mark” chopper” Read was the one, very dangerous man- died of liver failure a while ago, there are several books and a film about him
sadly he was full of shit and his stories are all lies...
Chopper 2 - he slags the pair of them off ! And nearly beat to death one of the fellas .
Did you watch his last interview you couldn't tell he was a ball hair from his box with the colour of his skin he was a villain but hard not to like him
Yeah ! Give up a transplant after stating “ some kid would be better off having a new organ than me “ wow ! It was because he was so funny he was liked I think ! And obviously had some sort of moral code towards normies unlike some today . He beat nerdy smith nearly to death at the races when he was just 20 ! Remember he had the Jew on his side hahahaaaa.
Superb as per Matt, you n yours have a lovely weekend 💯🥊🔥🥂
