Saw this kart at the swap meet. AWESOME kart! The amount of torque is amazing!
Thanks man! Hope your leg gets better!
I need to make one of these. I got an everlast welder and just need a tube bender to get started I guess.
Great job. I think it's badass. I'm researching to build one for my daughter.
Damn you guys found the right motor and gear ratio of fun
Love it! Looks like you all are having a BLAST! Can't wait to get mine going for my girls :)
Thanks Todd; hope you can get yours running too! Stuff like this makes you proud to be a parent.
thats one way to cut the grass, love it
+Jaime D. that way, the grass wont grow back for a while :-)
Woooooooow very good go kart.
@@KartFab Friend what kind of clutch did you use and where can i buy one?
@@dragospeiu9534 40 series go powersports
Oh how I want to make one of these with my everlast welder.
Alright so I've got a go kart just like that. I stretched mine out to be longer. How do you think a 16hp motor would do on it?
Респект парни💪👍, карт супер. За музыку отдельное спасибо.
Bro what engine u have used
I'd say that's closer to a crosskart, but sure you know what you've built^^
lol i had a Dingo growing up.
this looks so fun
Very good!!
Great work!
i have one of these with stock 5hp briggs that motor is wore out you can put pinkie in flywheel and turn it
I have that exact same kart with a 8hp Briggs on it it rips
It wheelies because the engine is mounted up so high and so far back.
ThingsDemystified among other things.
+ToDDsMoDDs Where can I get a torch converter? Sounds flammable.
.
Oh, you mean the torque converter?
Not really, mostly because of bad spelling xD learn your stuff
Apparently, you know it all. Only a know it all would know more about how I built my go kart to pull wheelies than I do. I'm just trolling you anyway man, or am I? You would know, if you knew it all. I think its obvious who really knows their stuff here.
sweet that thing looks fun!
good job. .
+julio Angel thanks
I just picked up two karts. One with a 5hp Briggs that's been modified for racing with live axle and 20 inch tires and torque converter with disc brake, and one with a 10hp tecumseh electric start live axle torque converter and 22" tires and drum brake. What sprockets were you running on this kart to do wheelies ? Jack shaft and main sprocket. I have a 10 and 72 on the 5hp. Haven't counted the 10hp yet.
9ackshaft 54 axle . Weight distribution is the only way it does wheelies. Light in front heave on axle. Tops out at 33 mph
I'm looking for a frame with a bigger wheel base so I can throw in a 670 cc. The 420 cc is still a great edition for a more extreme go kart
40"- 44" is about what you would want for a 'wide' go kart
Very nice work.
I have a 90's mango dingo deuce and I was wonder how you stripped the paint because I'm having a real problem with that
I have the same frame with a briggs flat head 5.5hp It has a aluminum fly wheel straight pipe K&N air filter the head has been shaved so i have to run higher octane gas and its been rejetted and it is belt driven i paid $50 dollars for the whole thing but have yet to drive it because i need a belt but i think i got it for a really good deal
What is your top speed?
Dude !! That is just to cool ! I rember back when I was still able to work ' me & a bud I worked with found this old lawn mower that was just left behind the shop . No mower deck ' but it had at least an 12 or maby a 15 Hp. motor on it & since it was just left there ' about 5 ft. from the dumster ' well we thought it was junk . well we put it in the back of his van ' got it to my house ' put gas in it & that thing ran like a bat out of hell !! My buddy still has it to this day & it still runs the same w/ just a Briggs motor . I tryed to tell him since I found it I should get it ' dident have a way to get it home dangit !! sorry about the spelling as I'me no typist . sweet vid . man Jimmie R
It looks fun to have. Great video dude/ma'am/sir/bruh
thanks
Good video dude! I jst got the same go cart and put a 6.5 hp motor on it. Idk how you got that 13hp motor on there. I had to take my gas can off and put it up near the roll cage and it was still a was almost touching my back seat
Custom welding by yours truly
same clutch converter can be had on Amazon for about 150.same made in China as this model.don't let anybody say otherwise
Yo I have one of those and they are life monster trucks!
Love it.
Nice! How much does it all together ?
KartFab U Got Almost 40 K !! Good LUCK!!
This is so weird. This is the exact kart I have and the exact motor. But right now I'm putting a 50 hp dirt bike engine from a rm250 in it
Imapwnu1997 I hope you have life insurance and a living will.
That's Awesome!!!!
I just poured awesome sauce on it and BAM there it was.
Some badass kids ☺
looks fun
+SASraceCAM it is, and will be getting some mods before christmas.
You rlly should add a wheelie bar just in case you go fully backwards and it damages the bit of the engine sticking out
+Mr KosovanGamer690 the roll cage acts as a wheelie bar. You can see where it touches the ground on one shot.
I'm considering an Carter Trailbuster that has an 8 hp Briggs and Torque Converter - the engine needs to be put on and carb cleaned. No suspension, but 22s and off road lights. Is it a good deal for $300?
Sounds ok
@KartFab If you stretched it out a bit so that the rear wheels are more behind the engine will it be less willing to wheelie? serious question. yes im a noob
+Marcus Valentine yes. That would do it. It doesn't even wheelie with me on it.
did you guys make it
Awesome
Nice kart I have 1 similar to that can you plz tell me what torque converter and sprockets you are running plz and nice job again
40 series 8t jackshaft 54t axle and 18” rear tires 15” front
ya because the moter is far back has a lot of power an the front is light
AWESOME GO KART MAN (:
tevin weir thanks!
*****(: your welcome
Badass.
Oh that's awesome! I bought my first go kart today, it needs work, but it looks a lot like your's(Btw epic donuts and wheelies :D)
+TheMineCast thanks!
Where can you find a go kart for cheap
What gearing are you using? How do you get it to wheelie, how much horsepower etc?
I have a manco dingo 8hp briggs and Stratton I want to know how to do a wheelie like this what do I have to do or adjust?
My dad would just love this at least he dont have to mow anymore🤷
if I was you I would extend the roll cage further back so if the go kart does roll over the engine won't get damaged
Post one of these with the last tires of the price tag in the commentary
+ProGamer_YT what?
What is this the engine...it's fery cool...and very fast....so I built mini Drift car on one people
How do you get your clutch to engage so hard. It's like as soon as you press the gas it lifts. I had a Tecumseh 212cc with a torque converter and I swapped to a predator 301cc with a centrifugal clutch. I see you have a torque converter. But even when I had a 212 it never engaged that fast to just immediately have power to the wheels. Please give me some insight
Comet 40 series with Honda gx390. Double the torque.
mango dingo 185 made in 1982
Sweet!
How did you modify the 40-series? (or is it stock?) It's tough to get that kind of slam lockup without running slack in the belt.
Cool cart, looks like it started off as a Dingo 285. Can't buy beasts like those anymore...
Gear ratio of 6:1, 18" tires. The kart itself is light too. Only mods are disc brakes, and slapping on the 389cc gx390 w/40 series torque converter. With a properly maintained torque converter and a good belt you won't have any slipping. I saw the vid you posted of your kart and it looks like it has 22" tires and a smaller briggs engine. Gear ratio has a lot to do with it too. Bigger tires with all else the same= less torque and a higher speed. 22@ tires are perfect in my opinion.
Hey Nice video. I just bought a used Manco Dingo 8 hp. go cart and I'm trying to identify the model. It looks almost identical to yours. Can you tell me the model of this cart??
Manco dingo model 285. Hope that helps! You can try gokartsrus or americansportworks.com for the manuals.
Whats your gear ratio? I see you did a jack shaft over to the rh side. Did you reduce that from the driven shaft from the torque converter? If i had to guess you reduced down to 8 or 9ish to 1?? Curious...im stuck on a build and debating an intermediate jack shaft for gear reduction....
Torque converter uses the jackshaft. Gear ratio is multiplied by about a factor of 3 at initial take off, and multiplied by a factor of .9 at final drive ratio. Gear ratio is 54/8, so 6.75. Ratio changes with drive and driven based on rpm/load
Initial ratio is 18.9:1, final is 6.0:1 roughly
Thank you for the response....im way off......really appreciate the info. Ive been searching for a few weeks for a good starting point. Glad i asked. Thx agai
round and round its like nascar
What engine is that
Can I get some rough dimensions of this kart? I'm looking into building one and need to get my measurements. Thanks and I subscribed.
+AlphaLope 42" wide outside of wheel to outside of wheel maybe 64" long
+KartFab OK thank you that's very helpful. One more thing, do you know the size of the wheels?
18 rears 15 fronts
Awesome!Did you ever put a remain seated belt in it?
No seat belt. If it had a roll cage, a seat belt would be a good choice.
Got a video of them front wheels snapping off?
😂 nope they are pretty tough. There is front spring suspension and the frame itself has a little flex in it. I have even seen karts that hit trees and it may bend tie rods and spindles, but the wheels don't just snap off easily.
Tie rods are 5/16" thick. They tend to bend first.
The tires are bolted to a 5/8" rod welded to the spindle, which is held in place by a 1/2" minimum thickness kingpin bolt.
I hate a 16 hp Power Max on a 2 seater.....having trouble getting it going, what torque converter set up are you using?
www.gopowersports.com/40-series-torque-converter-kit-bolt-on/#aid=2986
Great video😂😂👍👍
Do you have the cad design for this cart or the measurements?
Hi. I've got my own Manco dingo 285 and I was wondering what drive you use. We use a drive belt but we're looking to get the best acceleration we can so please may you reply ?
+Just a guy _ 30 series torque converter for 5-7 hp engines, or a 40 series for 8-18 hp engines. Im using a 40 series torque converter on mine.
If you already have a 30 series torque converter, you can swap out the jackshaft sprocket for a 8t type c 5/8" bore 40/41p sprocket and get better acceleration, but lose a little top speed.
+KartFab thanks very much👍🏽
+KartFab do you know the size and dimensions the belt?
cool kart
Thanks! I checked out the tracked vehicle video you have, pretty sweet.
Sweet!!!!
homotorsports i made anther video of it doing a hill climb and doughnuts in powdered snow. Should have it available soon.
Engine type or cc. I know it's a predator but how many cc.
I thought it was 670 predator, but at beginning of video on pull start it said Honda... So I don't know either lol
Can you tell me how many teeth for the big and small sprockets?
Thanks
'
+George Morales 9t/54t axle. You could also do 10t/60t
you got any old little motors that sort of run because i need a little crappy motor to stick in a 1WD peddle kart just to have a little fun :)
Yeah. A 2.5 hp Briggs with new centrifugal clutch. Throttle linkages are a little messed up but it runs.
+KartFab all I need is the motor and the centrifugal clutch I messaged carsandcameras about if he had a crapy little motor he didn't have one so I went to how much do you want for it
+KartFab now that I've thought about it I will take the whole thing
+alex beau if you live in dallas/ft worth that would be the only way i could sell it to you to pick it up. shipping an engine costs more than the engine is worth.
+KartFab I don't live I Dallas I live in Toronto Canada and to make it cheaper take of the throttle linkages from the the whole thing
Is not the Manco called back because they are dangerous? It says 2 people have died, because of the open rear axle, if you trap your hair in the axle it's life over.
was very good, can you tell me that you are using transmission, would be a cvt which model?
Comet 40 series
thank you
What would a 20 hp be like if you know.
Well, a 20 hp would have the same top speed as it is geared equally. The difference would be that the 20 hp would get there faster -aka acceleration. A 13 hp is too big anyway, the 20 hp would be just ridiculous (and fun if you survive).
Yeah thanks *****
This thing is sicc af
Are those factory front tires? I have a dingo and want to raise the front up
15x6-6 tires at gopowersports
@@KartFab ok thanks, i actually don't need tires now as i just crashed my dingo into a fence
which motor or engine is suitable for homemade gokart..in india
5.5hp Briggs @ straton
Get yourself a predator engine cheap and reliable
I did I got it from harbor freight 7 hp
Awsome
honney ! i sad trimming the garden with the lawnmower ! not ripping it up in smithereens ...!

Hello my friend, how can i buy a plan, and where i can buy tire and wheels same with this video
You can get the frame here bit.ly/2LWSRAw If you want tires and wheels or build your own similar to this: kartfab.com/live-axle-go-kart-plans
What type of engine is this?
How much tooth sprocket is on it
What size sprocket
What size rear sprocket and clutch sprocket size do you use on this kart?
GX390 industrial engine, stock. 9 tooth jackshaft sprocket, 54 tooth axle sprocket, 18" knobby tires, 40 series torque converter. The torque converter multiplies the original gear ratio (it is 6:1 gear ratio) by 2.43 for a low (starting) gear ratio of 14.58:1 and a high (final) gear ratio of 6:1. This produces lots of low end torque for donuts and wheelies, and a decent top end speed of 33 mph. The heavy engine, positioned over the center of the axle coupled with a very light go kart and light rider enables the kart to pop a nice wheelie. I don't think a centrifugal clutch will be able to reproduce this wheelie, only a torque converter like the 40 series that grips hard to the drive and driven unit is likely to work. Hope that helps! Can I get a shameless plug for a thumbs up on my video for this? :-) thanks!
how did you get it to wheeley
OK! this is a nice video :)
Is that 1" black iron pipe?
Nope that's 14 ga 1" erw hot rolled round tubing fabricated by Manco (now out of business).
Are you using a CVT (continues valuable transmission) ?
Yes a continuously variable transmission, more commonly known as a torque converter. More specifically, a 40 series torque converter.
cool
nice
Thans bro
What size motor is that? And did u make the kart yourself? Cuz im lookin to make one myself
13 hp,
I modified an existing kart
