Omega 3: fish, cod liver oil, grass fed beef, walnut (4.2:1 O6:O3), chia seed (ALA, not DHA and EPA), Brussels sprouts *Seaweed (DHA and EPA), but b careful of the high iodine Omega 6: chicken, nut/seed

If he and Doctor Mundel ( another treasure) had to practice together hardly any one would get sick and all their patients would have a painless wonderful long lives!!
I always make my own salad dressings using olive oil or some other good oil. It only takes about 5 mins to make. It's fresher and tastes great and everything in it is organic. It's nearly impossible to find good salad dressings in your average grocery store.
I make my own too...so much tastier! I'm in love with a new one that I make....I mix some mayonnaise with a little vinegar and a lot of minced, fresh garlic and dill weed. Another herb of choice would work great as well. It's the best tasting ranch dressing/dip ever!
Homemade is definitely the best...but if, in a pinch, you want one that's on a shelf in all the stores now...the only one that doesn't have crap in it is Primal Blueprint...and it tastes good, too!
Vegetable seed oils have done incalculable harm to humanity. If we stuck to cooking with beef tallow and butter (preferably grass-fed), we'd all be much better off.
Milton, I think you are spot on with your comment. I have squashed veg oil use to zero and have throttled down "monos" in favor of tallow and ghee. High smoke points too.
As Dr. Berg described, these fats are incorporated in cell membranes etc. and stick around for a long time. Any regimen adopted to reduce the 6:3 ratio will take time, therefore. Both Labcorp and Quest will perform a reasonably priced test to quantify the status to take away any doubt about it. A 1:1 ratio would be considered ancestorially correct but many say up to 4:1 ratio is okay.
Yep, i was in a stall for months and adjusted these things from knowing about your message/information. I have broken the stall and reached another weight loss goal and at 74 my new job is great and i feel good. The only downside is i need smaller clothing. :-)
thank you for another great video! I just want to add: For Vegans/Vegetarians who don't consume fish and fishoil, algae oil is a good solution, it's especially high in Omega 3 / DHA / EPA
After I watched Dr berg’s Vedic’s, I have no patience to watch other channels, they talk too much junk. Not like Dr berg, precise informative and no junk talk. Just love it!

I never realised that Almonds & Peanuts had Omega 6. Always thought both were super healthy! Most people I know on Keto use LOTS of Almond flour, make bread, cookies, cakes etc.with it. Now I'll use it in moderation.
I'm glad that doctor Berg clarified that almond flour can be used sparingly, because I was kind of relying on it - and coconut flour - to start baking my own low carb bread. Bread is my downfall and to replace that would be a massive breakthrough for me.
During the recent "lock-down" I was unable to find good olive oil, avocado oil, quality organic almonds or almond butter. So, I settled for other brands and ended up gaining almost 20 lbs! I was also eating sunflower seed butter. I now see the writing on the wall. Thanks Dr Berg. I am now more enlightened than I was before I viewed this video!!!

I wish I had done keto years ago instead of starving myself counting calories on and off. Lost 12 pounds in 6 weeks, half a pound a day, and have watched his videos religiously, so it works for me. As I post on FB, friends are joining me and seeing results. 👍
FYI on old math teachings 6 weeks x 7 days/week =42 days 12 pounds/42 days=0.286 pounds/day loss In order to loss 1/2 pound per day, this is what the days would be. O.5 pound/day x 12 pounds = 24 days to lose 12 pounds But you stated 6 weeks=42 days
Dr Berg, I believe you have just shed light on a huge blind spot I have. THIS is most likely the culprit that has slowed me down! Never considered the Omega 6 factor and was really ignorant of their sources! THANK YOU for being such an advocate and teacher! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
My other question is that, when it comes to oil, olive oil is one of the most "anti-inflammatory" oils there is and this is despite of the fact that the Omega 6 to Omega 3 ratio of olive oil is 10 to 1!! Which means olive oil has 10 times more omega 6 to omega 3! Then how can you justify its anti-inflammatory property if omega 6 is to be blamed for inflammation? and if there are other properties of olive oil that makes it anti-inflammatory, then this is a proof that we should not be considering omega 6 alone as the main driver for inflammation! Your response to this is highly appreciate Dr Berg.
For olive oil: unsaturated fatty acids>saturated fatty acids. The more saturated the fatty acids , the more easily reactive they become in the body , which causes/contributes to inflammation. The unsaturated fatty acid ratio is the reason why olive oil seldom gets rancid ,compared to other oils.
If you want answers to your questions it is best to research yourself on pub med and read medical studies and trials. Everything in moderation is good.
@@hollykbae5231 no i didn't, i've been about the same weight for 15 years, gained about 25 pounds from the lockdown stress and routine being ruined.. but then i did the alternate day fasting, lost about 30 pounds but then i quit the fasting, and gained 5 back, today im right back where i was for the last 15 years besides the lockdown lol not really following keto either im comfortable though i noticed i sprouted alot more grey hairs while doing the altnerate day fasting.. The Dr does have several videos about that but i stopped doing the fasting and i stopped sprouting my greys so i didn't follow them i think i was probably low on potassium if i fast again i got fasting salts to use
I avoid nightshades, including legumes, for regaining gut health after finally cutting toxic (to me) gluten from my diet. I recently replaced peanut butter with sunflower seed butter instead of almond butter. As a result it is more affordable to have nut butter more often. I'm still doing keto w/IF but hit a plateau and started having inflammation in my problem areas again. Thanks so much for this video! Bring on the Brussels sprouts, chia seeds and fish!!
Wow, mind blown with how long a time they take to break down! This makes me think twice about eating the little restaurant food we have a few times a month.
@@priestesslucy Yeah, except restaurants coat the meats and grill in bad oil before grilling. Be sure to request "dry, no oil or fat"...and maaayyybeee they'll do it! And some restaurants wash the lettuce for salads in preservatives first...so they'll look fresher longer! You'd be surprised what happens in restaurants...I've worked in a lot them! But, you're right...that's the best you can do, if you're eating at a restaurant!
Vegetable oils (except olive oil) are produced by heating and extraction with chemicals. Also, omega-6 fatty acids are rapidly converted into pro-inflammatory molecules (prostaglandins). Having said, this we need some amount of omega-6 fatty acids in our diets but make sure to keep it low (mainly from nuts) and balance it with omega-3 from fish.
@@mirjambethany6043 Sure you can heat it (even extra virgin oil)! Common misconception, just don't burn it. Really, this should be known by now, at least here in Europe this is common knowledge and throughly tested.
Hello Doc Julian here from Melbourne Australia, great video. I learnt / researched that Macadamia Nuts have the best ratio of Omega 3 to Omega 6. 1 Macadamia 2 Pecans 3 Walnut What’s your thoughts?
As a former athlete, soldier, health science graduate... I had forgotten many of these very valuable facts :) great stuff!! Day 4 of Keto! woke up feeling the most rested I have in a very long time... tried my first bulletproof coffee this morning... not too bad! Love these vids!
I've been on the CarnoKeto diet for about 2 years now. I'm pretty settled into it. Gave up on fried foods in veg oil long ago. Just the smell of a fast food deep fryer makes me feel sick now. Weird. Oil wise, I stick to Coconut or occasionally the real deal 100% cold pressed uncut olive oil from Italy. American grocery store olive oil is mostly cut with veg oil sadly. I eat a fair amount of Amish raised bacon and I fry my free range eggs in the renderings. Mostly though I stick to fatty beef as main fat source. 80/20. Gained a taste for beef liver. Beef heart is great! Tastes just like roast beef. Had a physical and blood work (expensive) recently and got complemented on the results. 👍 Wanna lose fat? Eat fat, I promise you. But NO carbs meantime. Bacon is your friend. Week over week you'll notice the difference.
@@Terrahoskins Urges to consume vegetables? Why do you even hesitate? Despite the fact that they generally contain pesticides, they are still high on several nutrients, vitamins and antioxidants, that we necessitate. Therefore, there is utterly no problem.
Almond flour is also high in salicylates which proved to be a culprit in my daughter's Crohn's, which we cured! Oddly enough almonds were the only high salicylate food that she tolerated. We also switched to safflower oil to avoid the salicylates in olive oil but weight gain is evident and we are going to switch back now that her inflammation is that of a normal person.

you are a legend, im from germany and u helps me so much i watched your psorisis video and this help me so much ! GOD BLESS YOU ! best doc in the world
It's worth mentioning that removing those processed oils also helps reduce pain and inflammation. After 1 month I noticed a drastic difference in daily pain levels with eliminating those oils! :)
Everything makes sense except for "nuts and seeds!" I keep hearing very contradictory messages on them (even in Dr Berg's other videos). In this clip he says we need to limit their consumptions but in other clips and resources they are highly recommended. There are many resources recommending nuts and seeds as "anti-inflammatory" but then how come these Omega-6-based food can be anti-inflammatory when Omega-6 is pro-inflammation?
Also, I believe he said if you have hit a plateau, look at your nuts and seeds intake. Not that they're bad, per say, but maybe at this point you need to reduce them and increase Omega 3.
I have discovered that I cannot do coconut in any form, macadamia nuts, almonds in any form-including extract, or peanut butter. They all cause a massive flare in my psoriasis/dermatitis and I will swell up for days.
MamaDouglas-Coconut oil from coconuts, olive oil from olives-what the hell is a canola? Canadian Oil Low Acid-not fit for human consumption but rather machine oil! Need Medium Chain Triglycerides like Coconut oil-which the american heartless assoc. says is dangerous :(
If you cook with olive oil you better not let it get too hot or it becomes a damaged oil so cook with butter - it’s the best - it tastes great and also coconut oil. Olive oil should be used raw as on salads and for dressings that you are not going to heat. Butter should be Kerrygold unsweetened which is produced in Ireland where they grass feed their cows.
Simple and cheap salad dressing, apple cider vinegar, olive oil, and salt and pepper. I sometimes use Montreal steak seasoning. Tastes like Italian, no sugar and it has olive oil and ACV

Dr. Berg. I'm taking a spoon of pumpkin seed oil every day. I'm taking a spoon of blackseed oil every day. I'm taking a spoon of very high quality olive oil every day. I cook my kale in rice oil. I also use flaxseed oil with farmer's cheese as a staple of my diet. I also eat walnuts and occasionally 150 grams of roasted and salted cashews and try to get an avocado every day. I have very little body fat and am over 50. Are any of these oils going to compromise my liver. I eat no meat. Only 4 to 6 eggs per day. Thank you.

With pleasure 🤗 As a matter of fact I'm going to make it tonight so that I can prepare some delicious wraps to take at work tomorrow. It's so easy and quick once you get used to make it.... and I love it! This is why I hope dr Berg tells me it's ok with keto. Let's go to the ingredients: - Half cup coconut flour, - 2 tbsp psyllium husk powder; - 1 tbsp coconut or extravergin olive oil; - 1 tsp baking powder (or baking soda with a little drop of apple cider vinegar), - A pinch of salt (according with your tastes), - 1 cup (240ml) hot water. Mix all the dried ingredients and then add the water and mix before with a spoon and then with your hands work a bit the dough. Let it rest at least 10 minutes and then take a bit of dough, make a sort of ball and squeeze it between 2 cooking papers and with a stick or something equivalent make a flatbread shape. Then cook it in a skillet with lid. With this dose I usually make 2 or 3 flatbread. It depends on your skillet. Once done you can fill them as you like. Cream cheese and salmon and rucola, Blue cheese walnuts and rucola, ham and cheese, hummus (not keto) and vegetables.... The consistency is very flexible and you can wrap it easily. You can also add some garlic powder or curcuma and black pepper or Italians herbs... I hope my English hasn't been too confusing. ...🤭 let me know how it goes 🤗

Cold pressed organic sesame oil is our favorite in Japan. In a can not a bottle. It’s yellowish not brown. I read it has a perfect balance of omega 3 and 6 and 9.
Just some thoughts since I’m not a doctor. Contact dermatitis or autoimmune tendency? How much do you sit and what’s your diet like? There could be something you’re eating that’s triggering the response. Does the itchy area look different than the rest of the body? Or is it all internal? If you can see some dermal irritation, try oil of oregano on the area. Use just a little to start with... and don’t put it on any sensitive tissues as it can feel like it’s burning at first. I had a spot on my chest that completely healed with its use, but your mileage may vary. If it’s all internal, maybe it’s just a slight allergic reaction. Check your diet and look at what you’re eating immediately prior to the itching.. that could be the simplest thing to fix. Good luck.
Thanks Dr. Berg. I love Dr. Berg because he is constantly thinking of all of us on our journey. He updates constantly with info that is so vital. Switching up my grocery list right now!
It's because commercial chicken is raised in a cage on a constant supply of nothing but grain and soy. Pastured Chicken that eats bugs and nibbles on a bit of grass has a MUCH better fat profile. You get a lesser version the same effect contrasting grass finished tallow to grain finished tallow. It's not as bad because the beef animals spend the first half of their lives on Mama's milk and grass before theey go to the feedlot to be 'finished' on concentrates similarly to the chickens.

@@amytrumbull156 Hah, it sounds almost like what I make. I haven't tried the Dill yet. I will give it a try sometime. Thanks for the tip.
SO easy to make your own. Same with your own mayonnaise, and with mayo, it's cheaper, too.
That's a fact. Make mine too
Homemade is definitely the best...but if, in a pinch, you want one that's on a shelf in all the stores now...the only one that doesn't have crap in it is Primal Blueprint...and it tastes good, too!
What about avocado oil?
@@evanhughes1510 I wouldn't cook with avocado oil. Way too high in polyunsaturated fat.

I was wondering why I can't seem to lose even a pound right now, and then he said almond flour and peanutbutter!
I never realised that Almonds & Peanuts had Omega 6. Always thought both were super healthy! Most people I know on Keto use LOTS of Almond flour, make bread, cookies, cakes etc.with it. Now I'll use it in moderation.
I love natural PB. Now I know why I can't lose weight when I eat it. But, can we use Coconut flour instead of almond flour?
I'm glad that doctor Berg clarified that almond flour can be used sparingly, because I was kind of relying on it - and coconut flour - to start baking my own low carb bread. Bread is my downfall and to replace that would be a massive breakthrough for me.
The more we get rid.of bread, the easier it is to do without. I have about two slices of toast per month. Don't even miss it non-gmo
Yea the oil itself is definitely the cause of your weight gain and not the over use of the oil and even over consumption of calories in general.
@@lisaalapisa4235 I am still stuck with 20 extra pounds to get rid of again! My body seems to be at a standstill due to my bad knees. But my finances have really taken a hit with the rise in prices of high quality foods! I wish I had done keto years ago instead of starving myself counting calories on and off. Lost 12 pounds in 6 weeks, half a pound a day, and have watched his videos religiously, so it works for me. As I post on FB, friends are joining me and seeing results. 👍
FYI on old math teachings
6 weeks x 7 days/week =42 days
12 pounds/42 days=0.286 pounds/day loss
In order to loss 1/2 pound per day, this is what the days would be.
O.5 pound/day x 12 pounds =
24 days to lose 12 pounds
But you stated 6 weeks=42 days
Yes I finally cut out seed oils. Only rely on olive. Coconut. Avacado oil, butter. And a little almond butter snd almond flour

Vegetable oils (except olive oil) are produced by heating and extraction with chemicals. Also, omega-6 fatty acids are rapidly converted into pro-inflammatory molecules (prostaglandins).

It's so easy and quick once you get used to make it.... and I love it! This is why I hope dr Berg tells me it's ok with keto.
Let's go to the ingredients:
- Half cup coconut flour,
- 2 tbsp psyllium husk powder;
- 1 tbsp coconut or extravergin olive oil;
- 1 tsp baking powder (or baking soda with a little drop of apple cider vinegar),
- A pinch of salt (according with your tastes),
- 1 cup (240ml) hot water.
Cream cheese and salmon and rucola,
Blue cheese walnuts and rucola, ham and cheese, hummus (not keto) and vegetables....
The consistency is very flexible and you can wrap it easily.
You can also add some garlic powder or curcuma and black pepper or Italians herbs...

Same here! On my thighs mostly, I scratch until I bleed.
Good luck.

Please note I live in Canada. Our chickens are not fed GMO ingredients.

@@geraldfriend256 tilapia is poison haha ... I know that. When it comes to fish (especially salmon and tuna), I always make sure it's Pacific wild-caught (not Atlantic or farmed) so the omega 3 is > omega 6.

@@StandUpForCanada1867 yeah, omega 3 enriched conventional eggs would certainly be a step up.
I heard you guys don't grow soy, your commercial chicken *might* have a somewhat better Omega fatty acid profile than here in the states... Assuming your chicken industry doesn't just freight the Soy in by train lol
@@StandUpForCanada1867 about eggs, if you can afford it get some laying hens or buy eggs from a local free range farmer. Chicken eggs where the chickens get to eat bugs and plants (but especially the bugs) have a rich orange yolk with a very good omega 3 ratio
Wow! Very informative! I'm looking forward to the results from applying this information!
My friend use organic canola oil, cold pressed. This in not gmo, and no chemicals or heat used to extract this oil. Usually all keto doctors do not recommend it because it is mostly gmo (not in this case) and omega 6 warnings. But I was very surprised to know, that natural canola oil has 1:2 ratio of omega 3 to omega 6. This ratio is much much better than in olive or avocado oils - 1:13.
