Everything work out? I run amsoil in my 5.0. I was going to do a flush the next oil change.

Yeah runs strong now. I do get a miss once in a while I think I need new plugs, nothing shows up as a code though. I need to do the transmission next but I was waiting for banks to release the new 10r80 transmission pan.

Wait, what the hell, no climatic finish? Do we get to see what happens?

Soon enough I just did this!

@SwitchSynthetics oh ok. This just popped up on my feed and wanted to check it out. Then, when the video just ended, I was like, what in the hell is going on here! Well, I can't wait to see how it works and what the finish product looks like.

@@bearing_aficionado I was so excited to try everything out I forgot to get an oil analysis before. I have tons of data on my other trucks and a few ecoboost engines too.

@SwitchSynthetics I own a 2011 F150 Lariat with the Ecoboost and while I know they get a bad rap, I really do like the engine.

@@bearing_aficionado I had a 15 expedition EL and a 12 f150 crew with the 3.5 ecoboost, I never had problems like everyone else did. I loved the power.

You ever fix the mpg issue?

@@V58dripper it got a little better up to 15.1. I sometimes have a random miss so it will be getting spark plugs soon. It did throw a code for timing being stuck advanced it appears the wear is already done without opening it up. We don’t use the truck much so I haven’t had time to get miles on it. It definitely runs strong until the miss happens. It’s not showing up as a code yet. I believe the spark plugs will help since it seems they haven’t been changed. I’m waiting for Banks to get the 10R80 transmission pans in then I plan to do a full service on the truck with oil analysis.

@SwitchSynthetics i have a gen 2 with the same problem, 13.2 mpg. 300k mile truck with an 80k mile motor, did plugs and coils, headers and 3inch straight pipe. I'm at the point where I'm gonna replace the injectors then swap on an 18+ manifold. That phaser tick can't be fixed once it starts throwing a code have tried 6 times on 6 different trucks with coyotes from 15 to 24. All had 220k plus miles.

Can't be fixed as in the timing components are shot and at that point buy a used engine and swap it, they are like 3500 bucks around here

@@V58dripper I’m going to wait until it’s not drivable before that. I know the oil won’t fix it but once I got it up to operating temperature and cleared the code it hasn’t come back, it’s been over 2 months. So hopefully the oil is doing its job and removing the sludge from the cam phasers. It doesn’t help that I drive it like a mustang when I do drive it.

@SwitchSynthetics once you've cleared sludge from the cam phasers the screens have blown through. But no matter how bad they get they only rattle at idle, at 7k rpm with oz tuning they have enough oil pressure to function lol
