@@RoadsideRC indeed. The dynamite GPS speed meter poles 10x faster which is why its more expensive, but it would have been better for your short runs you were doing there. I look forward to see your revisit of this though. I think it will get to 60mph as long as it doesn't take off, flip or the tyres explode :D
Nice speed run testing bro. This quick video shows just about all the trials of speed runs. As my good friend RHOUSE21 says "FLY.FIX.FLY. Can't wait to see part 2!
Thanks! I felt like a noob that I couldn't keep it straight down the street, but honestly, the truck was all over the place! I went back and looked in slow-motion, and the tire ballooning was CRAZY. That might have had something to do with it. Thanks for watching!
You can really see that it is hard to control as the speed picks up. You were doing much better than I would do with that set up. I cant believe how well the car came out with all those cartwheels. (I wrote that before I saw the second tumble.). Crazy snapping on the drive shaft, fairly easy fix though, so that is nice. Fun that you are doing high speed run with a Rock Rey.
Thanks! Yeah, really surprised how hard it was to control. Here is the bad part about that driveshaft - $50!!! They only sell the whole shaft, and it is $50!!! CRAZY! I am attempting to "at home" repair to see what happens. Stay tuned for part 2 - I have a better spot picked out!
wow that thing moves. I honestly did not expect it to hit 49mph stock. I'm sure you had another mile or 2 to squeeze in there. unfortunate break in the end but great passes 💪💪💯💯
Loving this one thanks for sharing very important information giving thanks blessed love to all knowledge is power hopefully everyone pays attention keep up the good work 🙏🙏🙏🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲💪💪💪
Man that 23T looks just huge, like a Spur gear infact! 29 for 30% isn't bad. I mount my GPS just back from the shock towers. (Tip for the day - mask the GPS display then spray it bright orange all over, far easier to find when). The 55 they quote is with the optional gearing, I got 49 on the stock as well. I'm thinking at to dial down the AVC a bit, I think it's autocorrecting at high speed and you're having to fight the AVC, just a thought. Hope all that helps. 8:30 - that bright orange paint would have helped. Speed runs never easy!
Thanks! I agree - painting the GPS is a GREAT idea! Someone else mentioned the AVC item also - didn't think about that at the time. I am prepping now for attempt #2 depending on the weather this weekend. Thanks for the support!
Awesome brotha definitely needs a straight road this get this monster up to speed without loosing control she took some nasty hits there man happy bashing bud👍😎🤪😜😝🙈🙉🙊👊✌
Yeah - I have an area picked out to give this another shot. We can usually speed run down our street - but with vehicles that are a little more stable. Thanks for the support!
You'd never think a pinion change would make such a huge difference!! I guess the 8s has the torque to just pull through the different gearing. Looks very hard to control!!
Thanks! Do I really want to hit 70mph - not really. It is more just for the fun of seeing what happens. I think the 23T will be WAAAY over-geared for the majority of what we do. In fact, the 16T factory gearing that does 49mph - that is PLENTY for what we normally do! Thanks for watching!
It was actually on during this run! Many people seem to suggest the opposite. Seems with speed runs it appears to cause a wobble. I'll try it again once I can actually get it fixed!
Pretty strong! Servo and spindles are weak, but otherwise seems tough! First video with your music is in the works! I might need some more of your tracks!
PowerHobby 7200mah. They are in a hardcase and fit really well in this truck. This is the first set of them I have had. Work well so far, but don't have many runs on them yet.
Its cool to see speed runs. But is this Monster really made for it. Lets see a timing course thru some Dirt and Rocks. LOL..Very Cool Vehicle and Video.
@@bobbysimpson5540 It is a very cool truck for sure. Looks killer and the power is insane. However, that solid rear axle really hinders the total performance. Takes the handling down a notch or two for sure. If you get one, plan on a full 1/5 scale servo and servo mount upgrade. I also had to replace the front knuckles. I eventually sold it as I found my X-maxx to be more fun overall.
You need to turn the avc off. Ive seen every video with the avc on at high speeds does the opposite it should. Turn the avc all the way down on remote and hold her steady youll be better off no squirrely rear end action
Thanks! You are right. Check out our other videos. We ended up doing a little better at a different location, but still couldn't get a clean run. The front diff wouldn't equally distribute the power, and would drive the car hard left. Could be better...but it isn't really a speed run car...
Nice try, I think the problem is it is an offroad buggy and not intended to be a record breaker . But it took the hits well. Maybe you need different tyre combo and dump the chassis in the weeds so it is as low as possible for another try, how much AVC were you using ad are you still using the supplied transmitter if so maybe upgrade to one you can adjust the straight line sensitive down to a minimum for better straight line control.
You are certainly not wrong. I am really not trying to turn this into a speed run car...just playing with what a high-speed gear in this vehicle will do. I fully expect that after 1 more try, I will put a much smaller pinion back in it.
Honestly, it was a cool truck...but kind of garbage also. Full power torque twist was undriveable, parts were crazy expensive (and it needed them!), and it just wasn't as good as the X-maxx.
You cant use AVC and then try to counter steer, will get squrly. Let the avc do its job. You have to point it in the right direction then hammer it. You cant do a gradual accel whith AVC. Because the AVC is trying to correct your counter steering. Try slow roll forward straighten up then punch it. It should stay straight. Whenever you counter steer you give the gyro a new coordinate, then you try correct it, amd so on it goes. With AVC you just punch it. If all your linkages are tight without to much play the car should stay straight and not slide.
Hmm. That might have been smart. I could have started again at 30%-70%, then back to 100% if it worked. I might do that for part 2. Thanks for the idea!
MISTAKE NO.1 CRAWLER TIRES ON ASPHALT.......(YOU KNOW YOU CAN PUT THE RIGHT TIRES YES??) NO.2 FROM 16T PUT 19T-20T (MAXIMUM) WITH THOSE TIRES ON ASPHALT AND 100% AVC AND S.R.R WILL STILL DANCING AROUND!!! AKA CORRECT TIRES FOR YOUR TERRAIN AND PUT 25T IF YOU WANT! HOPE I HELP HAVE A NICE DAY!!
You are correct across the board...but I am not really trying to make this a speed run vehicle. This was just a fun test. If I do what you say, it would be much better!
That GPS doesn't have a very fast pole rate so unless you are at full speed for a full second or 2 it might not read the actual top speed.
Thank you - I didn't know that! I certainly didn't get to maintain full speed for that long on these runs! :)

Nice speed👍, pity only for the accident
Agree! When I get it fixed and get to try again...at a different location, should be interesting!
So, bigger pinion means higher top end, but less torque for hill climbs etc. ?
Yes, that is exactly what is happening.

Yes and yes!
I was staggered at how big if a change it made, and how ridiculously powerful the ESC and motor are in this truck!
Hey how do you adjust your speed? When you say that's 50 %,75 etc? Sometimes it's just to fast for me😅
There is a switch on the controller. In the manual, it tells you which one.
Cool video, hope you get it back together soon and get a WOT run in. Congrats to you and your boys on the win, enjoy. Just Sub'd
Thanks! Parts are on their way!
very cool your losi👍👍 Nice speed👍
Thanks!
crazy guys, whats about the motor and esc temps? i think 23t is overgeared?? nice stuff👍
Yeah, I assume 23T is over geared for this truck. Heck, I am pretty happy with the factory 16T in all honesty. I was just curious what it would do.
Nice fast rc car big thumbs up my friend XD
Nice speed, and damage is not too bad considering the tumbles, do ya really want to hit 70 with something like that?

When I turn it off it does that half way up its slot more stable full blast you can't turn so go half way

Nice run thought it was gonna be in peace’s after that tumble
I did too! I was really nervous with both crashes!
Good stuff brother

Nice speed runs man, looks like you need a big open space lol
Agree!
I have a spot in mind, and repairs are underway.
Be on the lookout for part 2!
WOW that was crazy bro. You might be able to hit 60mph easy in wide open space.
I think so also.
If it will stop raining, and I can fix the truck, it will be ON!
Lol that was crazy, you need an airfield. 🤣😂😂👍👍
Yes, for a vehicle this size, you are correct. I have a spot in mind, and repairs are underway.

Take it to the yard all the way down your street and let it come back down the hill at full speed? Should be wild!
Ha! I think we need another speed run day at the middle school! You in?
major roll over there mate the need for speed maybe better tyres broke the drive shaft OMG no thats not good
