This was a cool idea! The board may have not came out all that well, but this episode made me realize that it's the adventure and story behind a board that makes it so fun to shred! I wish my board had such an epic story behind it. Great job Network A!
that is the sickest thing i've ever seen. period. that is absolutely amazing. i love everything that signal does for the world of snowboarding and look forward to sticking around for future every third thursdays!
This show is just all kinds of awesome. I love the ingenuity and creativity. It's cool to watch something being made, especially when it's something totally original and new. I love it, and I don't even like snowboards. Wish there was a ski company doing this.
Since getting certified I've drove a lot of tropical areas and then just at home in San Diego. This video has guided me to New Zealand and more importantly, the beauty of Milford Sound. Next five trip is definitely going there. ABSOLUTELY gorgeous.
I love every third Thursday!! Plz do not stop making videos you guys are the best y'all putt a smiles one everyone's faces in every single episodes and you put a smile in my face (and btw you helped me get an A on my science protect one 3D printing so thanks for that) all in all you guys are great and I can't wait for more videos!!
I was interrupted 8 times during this video, by my fucking mother. Can't a guy watch a video in peace without you spazzing at me, and breathing down my god damn neck? Like holy shit. I'm genuinely pissed. This looked like a good video too. Like if you cry ery Tim.
+Jesse Golden boards work by the snow melting under the boardand the board sliding on the layer of melted snow... in order for it to work the board would melt after a while still seems cool though
Every Third Thursday! So excited. This channel inspired me to start snowboarding last year. It was one of the greatest things I had ever done. Thanks guys.
loving the new composition of shots. ETT going up market yet keeping the formula of one of the best ideas going. Loving it that ETT is back! #winteriscoming
That was awesome!! I'm so happy ETT is finally back. Can't wait to see what crazy stuff you guys come up with this season. You're already off to a fantastic start.
you're right. This was actually filmed at our house in Queenstown so I can confirm that a second board was made and compressed in our shed as water leaked Into the board they put under water and it fell apart. They literally threw out the first board from Milford .
Crazy awesome start to season 4. Wish Signal would do some demo days in Australia. I would like to give the board a try since I am a season away from getting a new one and demoting my current board to official rock hopper status.
how about an underwater snowboard, a board that you ride with water propulsion jets designed for underwater. similar to a motorized surfboard but one that glides under water with ailerons and ruder and a small handheld remote.
@Djholthusen, Yes it is possible. I tried this summer because I was just as curious. Its not very good though, snowboards are a lot more flexible and have a much smaller surface. The shape doesn't help much either, in the water you want the middle to be wider than tip and tail. I'd love to see a ETT crossover board though, I'd definitely give it a try
Yes it´s indeed a funny and creative way to make a snowboard. But the tricky part is that they actually use the vacuumbag to press the board against the mold, in that way they dont really use the pressure from atomic underwater level (as much as they would need to, to say that it was pressed completley underwater) to form the shape of the board. That means that the board probably is pressed about 80% because of the vacuumbag, and only about 20% of the water pressure. Thats probably also the reason why the board was ruined after only one day of heavy use. (Not a lot of pressure on the board, resulting in the board to be of a lower quality) But keep thinking like that, and we would see many funny ways to press our board in the future. "This was in no way ment to be a negative post, but just a "correction" so you would not be missinformed." ;)
I don`t see your point. How in your imagination does the bag lessen the contribution of water to overall pressure expressed on the layup? They just pre-vacuum the bag so there are no bubbles of air impregnated into the composite and then enjoy the ~3 bar pressure of 100 feet depth. It was pretty common to use water pressure to press stuff where I live in mid 90`s because everyone was a poor cheapskate and noone even dreamed of having a vacuum pump. We basically just rowed to the middle of a lake and sink our stuff for couple of days with some kind of float to find and retrieve the thing. You have to account for lower temperatures and give more time for resin to cure.
If you could perfect everything it would be pretty cool if someone came out with a line of snowboards pressed at the bottom of the ocean. It wouldn't ride as good as a normal board but I would definitely buy one
I know this is annoying but I just purchased my first GoPro. I recently uploaded a few Snowboard Videos on my channel. Any tips or suggestions on how I can improve my use of the camera would be greatly appreciated. Thank You!
dude there are tones of ways to better your video. The best i have found is steady your shot. if you have a pole let the go pro hang instead of holding ut up on top this will steady your shot and make for a far batter shot. also fast speed and slow motion works a charm and makes for an epic shot
I think this might be the first youtube video I have ever commented on.
Thoroughly enjoy every ETT and this was no exception, Absolutely brilliant.

Make a snowboard made of snowboards.

cant belive you guys were in my home town and i had no idea
I have a lot of time for you guys. You all rock.
I never knew how much went in to making my snowboard until watching these videos
Incredible episode. So glad ETT is back!
Wouldn't the vacuum inside the bag squeeze everything together before the water pressure would?
Mr Skull Top no
I agree, although depends on the the magnitude of the vacuum pulled relative to the water pressure, but I came to the comments to say what you did.
Same exact thoughts, I think he did this to save face and have content.
Granted the pressure from the water worked, the vacuum saved the day

hmm i see your point, but would be very interesting if we could hammer out the kinks and make something like that though
That would be AWESOME!!!!
KPduncle

+felicianoabe They have this already, its called a Hover Board by HoverBeta.

The band is Pinback the song Proceed To Memory. Love that song
We all are !
The summer seemed really long, waitin for the seaon 4 to begin...
Great start anyway !
As a upcoming new snowboarder, That was awesome!
for any one wondering, the music is Darude: sandstorm.
James Dobbins
ah you must be 18-21 and now thinks every one is a kid, typical.
Jimmy _ English?
Try making a core with cork and which would allow for a very light board and sort of flexible as well.
It seems that the future of snowboard building is going underwater, definitely !!
thank god ett is back
NEW ZEALAND BABY!!
sweet board, good to see your back!
Seeing this, makes me want to try to learn how to snowboard again.
I miss these videos!
hang in there. :)
+SignalSnowboard wooo!
Whoa! Thats Pinback - Proceed to Memory @ 8:03 Thats my all time favorite band. Kinda odd to randomly come across them here.

aweosome nz is the best place to board. especily good old queenstown. :)
Question: was there any performance difference between the board made underwater versus in your factory?
I love this.
SCUBA and fish in the morning.....smowboard in the afternoon....good job you guys rock
Great videos I love them keep making more !
you guys should make a wake board snow board combo
That is pretty cooool
SO SICK !
Hey Signal, When you are up on the mountains with mates it would be awesome to have a BBQ snowboard to cook some steak up!
Just found your channel, 2 minutes in and subbed
What if you made one out of plexi glass
They made one out of glass a while ago
That's what I was thinking :D
GREAT in deed!
you're right, you have to be careful with that. we didn't snowboard the same day that we dove.
Pinback song is sick that love that band
Aw watf... I thought they were going to "snowboard" underwater 😭
Haha same, I got to the ten minute mark and thought, "wait, whats going on"😂
Matt same
Haha I went to Milford sound! It rains 300 days out of 362 days or whatever
NEW ZEALAND YAY! :D
QUEENSTOWN!
9 hour drive from queenstown. I didn't even think NZ was that big. Unless you're on the north island and just aren't counting the time of the ferry.
make a full metal snowboard, or a full LCD screen snowboard. nowadays there are flexibel (lcd) screens.
awesome vid
How could you dive to 100ft on your beginner dive course. You're only meant to go down to 60ft?
I think you're thinking in metres not feet
jackson head no. On your basic course you can only dive to 18m which is 59.08 feet. And he dived to 30m which is 100 ft.
i could of done more training that they didn't show
Hell yah love these

Glad to be a Kiwi!
What if they did something like a 100% natural snowboard and used nothing from their shop like they would have to make EVERYTHING themselves
+jackson Beck they pretty well did that. theres a few things that really cant be replicated but for the most part they did
oh yeah i just watched that video :/ XD
cool they were the guys that snowboarded the skateramp
awesome!!!!
They should make a carbon fibre snowboard
I think those exist but I'm not sure
How can the Resin harden under these low Temperatures ( i guess about 4°C)
you guys should try and make one out of recycled tires
better drink ur own piss
Hey network A , what type of dive housing did you guys use for filming underwater?
Awesome
How about I get one of those snowboards they keep making were do they all go
thats prety awseome'
Milford sound!!!
nice vid sooo sick!!!!!
9:26 i actually thought he was trying to do some new awesome trick lol.
I know this is annoying but I just purchased my first GoPro. I recently uploaded a few Snowboard Videos on my channel. Any tips or suggestions on how I can improve my use of the camera would be greatly appreciated. Thank You!

Места шикарнейшие показывают!!!
Y did you have to go all the way to new Zealand ?
why were you wearing an Australian car (Holden) beanie in new Zealand?
i would totally buy a board made underwater!
The only issue I see is that the water is only top down pressure right?
COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Shit you guys we could be some gnarly pals I wish we could ride together take me with you guys next time !!!!
Hehehe! That's so awesome!
J'aimerais bien voyager avec eux
this just gave me an idea, underwater surgeon simulator! :D
im a master diver and i love to snowboard too. i kind of want to make a snowboard like this...
Loved it :)
I love SCUBA diving, though I haven't gotten down to 30 Meters...How scary was it, I wonder...?
make a snowboard with handles like a scooter that would be awesome
Thats pointless
