Vulcan and Guillimom have a shared wholesome moment too - when she tells Kurze to get bent, he is about to kill her but an enraged, insane Vulcan comes crashing through the wall like the Kool-Aid man and batters him, saving her life.
I think the most wholesome moment where the vox communications between the Iron Warriors and Word Bearers on Istvan. Or Kharn expressing his feelings towards Erebus.
That second half got me.
Dantioch and Pollux loved each other like one loves a brother as well as having a true respect and admiration for each other's intelligence and strength of will. That's one of my favorite stories in the setting.

Word Bearers I think had a warped idea of a Primarch considered their Primarch was the most pathetic one. During the Plague War books the Custodians assigned to protect Guiliman at one point think why are we trying to keep up with and protect him? While watching Guilliman full sprint tear though plague marines and their engines like he is fighting toddlers. I my head everytime Guilliman fights it plays out like the Sherlock Holmes movies where its slow motion and he is mentally explaining every action and reaction as it happens while solving why their was a logistical slow down at a nearby space port at the same time because he had some extra mental action points.
To both Praise and at the same time Yikes.jpg the Blood Angels, during their Revenant Legion days, if i remember right, they also ate their dead before Sanguinius was found. During the time when the Imperium was lowkey-highkey trying to have them 'accidentally' die out by giving them next to no reinforcements or supplies. Unlike the Spears though, it was less "let's remember this beloved brother by taking him into ourselves" and more "our geneseed is very good at taking in literally anyone and anything, quick, grab some randos from this planet, make them a neophyte and feed them the brain of the the Captain who died yesterday" and so their neophytes went from Newbie to Kicking Ass overnight.

Pretty sure the Scythes are just the remnants of the original company of Ultramarines that were stationed on Sotha that survived the Night Lord assault. The Silver Skulls are probably the descendants of the Sons of Dantioch mainly due to their iconography, method of war and just cause their origins are hazy enough for it to be possible.
its kind of annoying htey are seperate, I really feel the silver SKulls should be the ones to have the mask. As it would be a good excuse for their icon too :p

Where's the evidence for Silver Skulls having anything to do with Iron Warriors? Their heavy reliance on Librarians is not something IW were known for and their tradition of head taking and coating the skulls in silver is, if my memory serves me right , the exact same thing White Scars Master of the Hunt is said to do with the skulls of his prey. Combined with the stronger role of WS Librarians in the chapter compared to other Codex compliant Marines there would actually be a better theoretical case for them being WS succesors ( if you ignore the fact that they are confirmed to be Ultramarine succesor).
