    Stalin did learn his lesson tho. After World War Two, he purged the Red Army again. But instead of killing the generals, he simply demote them to unimportant roles so that 1) generals were unable to oppose him from their lowly positions and 2) the generals can be used again if another war broke out.

    • @TheDirtysouthfan
      @TheDirtysouthfan 4 года назад +26

      The algorithm, from what I understand, is built with Machine Learning. That means they don't exactly "program" it per se, as in tell it exactly what to censor or flag, rather they teach it what to flag or censor. They feed it a ton of data saying "this is good" and "this is bad", the machine learns this and tries to establish patterns. This is faulty of course, and in the present is very far from being an effective technology, hence why self driving cars are still many decades away.

      @@zztimelapsezz The argument I often hear is that the French made a mistake in focusing on the Maginot Line. The Maginot Line kept the Germans from crossing the Maginot Line, and forced them to go around it. Thus forcing them to attack on a very narrow front. The issue wasn't that the Maginot Line was built. The issue was that the French didn't have significant forces defending the Ardennes. With the benefit of hindsight, we can see that the French should have built the Maginot Line all the way to the sea, behind Belgium. The Maginot Line freed up enough forces to defend the entire northeastern border, but the French commanders used those forces incompetently.

      He conquered other countries because he was trying to spread Communism and his own power, because that's the ultimate goal of Communism, world domination.
      Stalin ordered his soldiers to not fire back since he thought Hitler was just trying to provoke him and locked himself away for days after the invasion started.
      The army might have been somewhat mobilized, but even then the T34 production was still pretty low and most equipment in general(Tanks/Planes/Artillery) was pretty old and outdated and the army was untrained and inexperienced, which is why the Germans managed to push them so far back.
      Stalin on the other hand was obviously absolutely caught off guard when Hitler attacked him and reacted in pretty much the worst way possible.

Not because Stalin was an invader and he needed Poland, but in order to secure the western front and gain time in order to better prepare. Stalin was already ready, just stop believing in the propoganda that rewrites history. Also the official position of the Russia is that the accession of the Baltic countries to the USSR did not contradict the norms of international law as of 1940, and also that the accession of these countries to the USSR received official international recognition. This position is based on the de facto recognition of the integrity of the borders of the USSR as of June 1941 at the Yalta (1945) and Potsdam conferences (1945) by the participating states. You wrote nonsense about the troops not shooting at the Germans. Do you even understand that this is complete nonsense? The main forces of the Soviet Union army were in Siberia, in the middle of the country, since on the other hand, Japan could attack from the east and there were no allies from the east. Hitler also began to make his plan for the quick capture of the Soviet Union "blitzkrieg". So the troops of the Soviet Union simply did not have time to redeploy. HAHAHAH u r so low brain Jesus... You humiliate Stalin that he did not prepare anything, but Germany was a capitalist country for that and at the moment, and it had more money for production. The USSR is a country of workers and peasants. After the revolution, they had nothing - emptiness. In the periods of 29-41, the country was industrialized, villages turned into large cities. The country was still at that time, not because Stalin wanted it that way, but because such a country went to it. At the time of 43 years, the level of production of the USSR was the same as in Germany. In the period 41-42 years, 6 and a half thousand T34 tanks were produced, and Germany in the period 41-42 years produced only 1.3 thousand vehicles. After the war, the T34 was recognized by many experts as the best tank of the Second World War.

      The Intel was of course very important but without the lend lease agreement, the Russians wouldn't be able to put the information to use. The US sent Russia over a half million trucks and tracked vehicles and Britain sent a considerable amount also, so the Russians could make the push. The US sent 2000 locomotives and 11,000 boxcars along with the trucks to better transport troops and supplies.
      Most don't consider the fact that for every man with a rifle, it takes 10 men in support to make him effective. Without good troop transportation and the ability to constantly resupply the men with the rifles, the best fighting men in the world would be hard pressed to win on a major front.

      Stalin was honoring the pact. Stalin didn't think the Germans weren't going to attack the USSR until England was defeated.
      For Hitler. The non agression pact was a means to an end. The pact served it's purpose while France was beaten and England was all alone. It was time for the Soviet Union to fall.

      @@MD-iw2vt so what? Give me same list of agreement between germany and poland, england and usa.
      German-Polish Non agression pact January 26, 1934 was signed earlier than molotv pact. And Poland at that time was considered by soviet goverment as the biger threat due to strong British influence in the goverment. And you should understand that main idea of bolshevik revolution was to unite working class people in the whole world by removing capitalistic elites. Ofcourse country with such ideology gona find itself surounded by enemies. Also keep in mind that example of Octobre revolution in Russia inspired a lot of working people all over the world to start movements for social justice for working class people, which is deffenetly dangerouse for one whose profiting from current state of society.

    Stalin was slow on implementing proper military doctrines, economic, and factory/production policies which also contributed to the Soviet ineffectiveness during the early stages of the war.
