It's really important to not only look at Average FPS. Look at the 0.1% and 1% lows. The 9800X3D might not give many more frames on average but they are FAR more consistent, resulting in smooth gameplay.
At 4K the stress comes completely off of the CPU on to the GPU.. it's not even worth doing a test of 4K for a cpu unless you got a 5090 as an early Christmas present from Nvidia lol. If you're looking for higher resolution gaming, your GPU is going to be the limiting factor, so that's where you're going to want to spend your money in. There are games where the CPU are more in demands no matter what though.
I game at 4k, but I just upgraded my 7800x3d to a 9800x3d anyway. Aside from planning on a 5090 soon, I play a lot of cpu-heavy titles and it has made a noticeable difference in my 1% lows.

This video answered a question for me. I've been on the AM4 platform for quite a while. I recently upgraded my GPU to the 4070 ti super and typically play at 1440p. This video shows that I could get a significant benefit by upgrading to the AM5 platform with a 3d cache processor. For this, you earned a sub.
The problem with this test is that the details are on Low. Because no one buys a new computer to play on Low. If you set the details to High, you would see that at 1440p all processors would have the same results. Because then the graphics card is the bottleneck. If you are running RX 7900 XTX or RTX 4080 at 1440p High Details, processors like 7700, 7700X, 7800X3D, 9700X, 9800X3D will give you the same results. In the sense that you will have the same FPS, because the graphics card is the bottleneck.
That's not how benchmarking works. this is technically a bad benchmark vid since the 9800x3d is being bottle necked by the 4070, thus were not seeing the actuall difference between the two higer end ones.

If you use 4070Ti yes there is not much difference in performance because its gpu bottleneck.
if you play 1440p non cpu demanding games, no shit.
@@pira707 to get 18% improvement you need to change CPU 5800X3D to 9800x3D , motherboard am4 to am5 , ram ddr4 to ddr5.
if you know a basic math and the meaning of diminishing return then the conclusion must be stay using 5800X3D in the next 5 years is the best value.
@@Aarlod On some games it's more than "18%". On tarkov or rust it'd be the biggest night and day difference. I also play grand strategy games which justifies my purchase very easily. On tarkov you can go from 103fps on a 7800x3d to 137fps on a 9800x3d 1440p.
@@pira707
i suggest you use that money to join a online courses so your brain can a little bit smarter rather spend that money to boost small fps you call it night and day.
good luck.
you are getting some strange results with the 9800xd3 when it comes to 0.1% lows its sometimes slower than the other cpus
Good pairing rtx 4070 ti super 👍
Только можно сказать одно что не стоит брать топовое железо хотя мне не понравился 7 7800х3д с 9 7950х3д намного производительней и переходить пока на 7 9800х3д нет желания если выйдет двух чиплетный
Why low graphics?
For testing cpu performance stupid
for making stress on the cpu to render the maximum frames show us the difference...
WHEN GAMES ARE POORLY OPTIMZED 😂 9800X3D IS King lol
5800x3d + 4090=😊
non of them is ready for 4k hogwards legacy crap optimization, I still waiting for cpu which will reach stable 60fps on 4k in this game without enabling frame generation
Ghost is vey GPU:bound it seems.
everytime I see a cpu test video with amd cpu but match it with a nvidia display card I laugth
Your 7800x3d is so bad. With my 7800x3d I get in geekbench 6 16700/cinebench r23 19500 with -35 in games my temperature never went above 60 degrees usually 45-55 degrees in every video with 9800x3d+rtx 4080 I saw my 7800x3d+rtx 4080 got more fps in 4k and I also have proof
What GPU?
Rx560
so CPU doesn't matter if I play in 4K? noted.
Yup, the CPU is less important in 1440p or 4K (that's why I'll keep my 5800X3D for like 2/3 years before switch to AM5 :D )
5800X3D at almost 90 degrees? You gotta improve your cooling, brother. And who the hell does comparisons like this with low settings?
Low settings are used to decrease the graphics load and increase the CPU load.
cpu comparisons done on low graphic
@@RealSchameeN I can get those metrics from Gamer's Nexus, I want to see some real world use case data too - and nobody plays at all low everything.
@@RealSchameeN I can easily get those super granular metrics from say Gamer's Nexus. I want to see some real world use case data as well. This is a video nearly fully dedicated to gaming, and it's just odd to me to only have all low everything since the number of people who actually use those settings is miniscule.
I bet your brain runs on low settings as well @@stobe187
test on LOW is a fail
Только дизлайк! Кто на таких процах играет на средних настройках? Давай все на эпичных
Bro test at the highest settings at 1080p and include ray tracing and path tracing with dlss performance at 1080p. So we can see how fast these cpus are when playing at max settings without a gpu bottle neck.
Weak graphics card for such a test.
i am trying to get 4090 in this week...
4070 Ti Super. I'm out 😑🤦♂
The graphics card is the limiting factor here, with a clear bottleneck visible at higher resolutions.
To be honest with the viewer, you should put "RTX 4070 Ti Super" after the hyphen, not "Ultimate Comparison", because it is misleading.
thats crazy
What a 🤡. This literally showed the uplift I would get moving to am5 from a 5800x3d. Go sit in a room with hardware unboxed and vent about it more. We get it. Move on.
@@jassco2 I'm not saying it didn't show improvement, but it's mostly visible in 1080p resolution, in 1440p and in 4k the card hinders the spread of wings especially 7 9800X3D, which is so powerful that in some games even 4090 is the limit for the processor. In 1440p there are also some differences, but 4k with this card is nonsense, because here the card will be the limit.
please test pubg mode FPP

Creo que para la comparacion en 4k... la 4070ti se esta quedando muy chica. Esta haciendo cuello de botella al 7800 y a 9800. La 4090 hubiera sido la opcion correcta. Incluso la 5090 cuando salga.
