I have 2 of the small heads, put an LED in the top of one, wanting a top hat to put over it, to hide it, install them in my van. This gives me such ideas, they'd make great wall sconces.
Absolutely awesome! I've had an empty bottle of Crystal Head vodka sitting on my shelf anyway, not knowing what to do with it! Gonna hopefully build a pipe ceiling light as well.
300 likes, omg, that is bloody fantastic! It's great to see that skull being repurposed, they're so cool and it's a shame to throw them out or to leave them sit statically. Amazing work man, your craftsmanship is really top notch.
i love the the stuff you do sir!! and really like the detailed video for dummies like me..have you done any of the copper type. looking forward for more
Really nice. Do you think that pouring a little paint with some thinner into the bottle and sloshing it around to coat the sides would be a good idea for giving a warmer, less harsh glow?
Great tutorial. Thank you! My epoxy didn't hold, so I used a rubber plumbing coupling. I'd post a pic, but I can't. Also, y'all who asked what the light socket was, it's a G8 IN LINE socket available on Amazon. I'll try to post a link.
One more comment: the cork slid out of the bottle, falling off the wall: I remedied this by using a 1 1/4" rubber plumbing coupling. This worked perfectly, and really takes away the need for any threading or epoxy.
Thought this was AWESOME, made one but I'm having an issue with the skull staying on. It appears that perhaps the heat from the bulb is shrinking the cork. Now what was a really tight fit, is now loose and will no linger hold the bottle in place. Have you run into this, and if so, how did you rectify it??
Can anybody give me an idea why I can't find these miniature rotary switches anywhere in the uk? I've been looking at making gate valve switch for ages I just can't source the parts anywhere!! :(
This has got to be the coolest thing I have seen!
you've just given me reason to finish my bottle of crystal skull vodka. wish I could like this video more than once. good build, dude!

Do yo have a parts list for this project?
How much did it cost to make it? Aprox?
hi. love the lamp. 2 questions: what type of bulb and light fitting is that? and what is the crystal shaped piece you used when soldering the wires?
+Ian Leonard , I believe he was using a satco 20 watt,Halogen G8 Base bulb or something similar, and the yellowish/brown stuff was rosin/flux
What is the name of the part to hold the lamp holder on to the pipe (the threaded holder)?? Can't find it anywhere
