    I have 2 of the small heads, put an LED in the top of one, wanting a top hat to put over it, to hide it, install them in my van. This gives me such ideas, they'd make great wall sconces.

    Absolutely awesome! I've had an empty bottle of Crystal Head vodka sitting on my shelf anyway, not knowing what to do with it!
    Gonna hopefully build a pipe ceiling light as well.

    300 likes, omg, that is bloody fantastic! It's great to see that skull being repurposed, they're so cool and it's a shame to throw them out or to leave them sit statically. Amazing work man, your craftsmanship is really top notch.

    Really nice. Do you think that pouring a little paint with some thinner into the bottle and sloshing it around to coat the sides would be a good idea for giving a warmer, less harsh glow?

    Great tutorial. Thank you! My epoxy didn't hold, so I used a rubber plumbing coupling. I'd post a pic, but I can't. Also, y'all who asked what the light socket was, it's a G8 IN LINE socket available on Amazon. I'll try to post a link.

      One more comment: the cork slid out of the bottle, falling off the wall: I remedied this by using a 1 1/4" rubber plumbing coupling. This worked perfectly, and really takes away the need for any threading or epoxy.

    hi. love the lamp. 2 questions: what type of bulb and light fitting is that? and what is the crystal shaped piece you used when soldering the wires?

    • @mike.w7950
      @mike.w7950 8 лет назад

      +Ian Leonard , I believe he was using a satco 20 watt,Halogen G8 Base bulb or something similar, and the yellowish/brown stuff was rosin/flux

    Thought this was AWESOME, made one but I'm having an issue with the skull staying on. It appears that perhaps the heat from the bulb is shrinking the cork. Now what was a really tight fit, is now loose and will no linger hold the bottle in place. Have you run into this, and if so, how did you rectify it??

    Do you have any problem with heat built up in the bottle by using a 50W halogen bulb?
