@Mark Guerrero it does in a small part because it open doors for wallis day to come back in guest appearance or crossovers and to reestablish the bond between this version of kate and Kara because there was not alot of involvment on supergirl part when kate was missing or presume dead.

I wanted Kate and Alice/Beth to leave together to find Bruce and get to know each other again, and Kate help Beth.
In my version, I would say that Kate goes to look for Bruce. She finds him, and then after is healed from going to the therapist, she would let her join them in Gotham
I do get why didn’t keep Wallis Day as batwoman cause they would’ve had 3 main protagonists, but Kate is the main batwoman and brought this show. I liked Ryan but I am a sucker for the comics and just would’ve preferred a comic accurate batwoman

This isn't Kate's final goodbye. Caroline Dries said she may bring back Kate again, maybe in Season 3.
She said maybe, but its goodbye for now. So there is no guarantee that we will see Kate again.
To be honest I doubt the writers will bring Kate back. I wish they just recasted her and be done with it

-they had the mystery of the batwoman movie which is 3 women alternate-sonia, roxy and kathy, who is a tribte to both kate kane(they weren't allowed to use her for the movie) and halle berry who was playing catwoman at the time
-they have the original batwoman, kathy kane, who was created in response to the backlash of the homoerotism of batman and robin. kathy was created to be a gf for batman and her cousin bette,the original batgirl, was the gf of robin. decades later after the characters were discarded, kathy was turned to kate and bette was turned into flamebird. they leaned into the homoeroticism and we got our current batwoman. bette on the show was turned into mary and became kate's stepsister.

See if Caroline dries was smart, she’d make season 3’s main subplot show Wallis day’s kate actually searching for batman, but I seriously doubt that’ll happen since she’d rather have it all be social commentary. Nothing wrong with social commentary but storytelling should always come first, and I really don’t think it will here. This just comes off more like dries wanting to write Kate out entirely, with the small hint that she might show back up just being to appease the fans.
I think they could do that...the question is....would they make a subplot for Kate to look for Bruce? Maybe her journey isnt to find him....but herself, and to become Batwoman once again later in Season 3. That could work.

I feel like it was Ryan's fault we didn't get to see Wallis suit up as batwoman in season 2 but I hope in season 3 and/or 4 if there will be a 4th season, she will be batwoman and we will have two batwomen and it would be awesome to see them personally being guided by batman.
I kind of feel bad for Alice but Alice no matter how much she has changed still must be held accountable like everybody else. But I am sure Alice will break out of Arkahm at some point. But seeing Kate leave and Jacob leave I don't quite see where Alice fits in. Also what happened to Safayiah?... I really felt like they are closing the chapter on the Kane family to focus more on Ryan's and her apparently still alive mother! But I would be so heartbroken to also see Alice leave and I think she may leave at one point if she gets out of Arkahm. Like there is really nothing Alice rlly cares about in Gotham. I hope to see Kate come back in the last season with Bruce and Jacob out of jail to maybe lead to a Batman series.

I’ll be honest the first time I’ve seen Batwoman was from the animated Batman movie and then after I did some research and to me she was played great I don’t understand the recasting or why she quit it doesn’t feel right.
They need to revamp this show with this actress as Kate. Get better writers

Agreed. They should’ve just bitten the bullet and recasted Kate from the start, because they basically had to reboot season 1, and throw away all the build ups from season 1. And now they’ve put themselves in an awkward position where they have two Batwoman.

Because then, Javicia Leslie / Ryan Wilder would always play the second fiddle. The whole show was written around Kate Kane.
Kate 2.0 would dominate everything, especially since Wallis Day is able to use Mimic and act more natural - other than Ruby Rose, she comes of as a human.
That said, I don't think the writers could handle 2 Batwomen, they're unable to even get ONE right.

@@Valkyreon I think making Kate batwoman again would be a disservice to Ryan’s character I think there are many ways the character could return if they can’t handle more than one story then the problem is the writing because time and time again it has been done look at teen wolf main character was Scott and his story but we still were able to love stiles and Lydia, with vampire diaries we got the main ones Elena and Damon but we had Bonnie and her story, we had Caroline we had the original family klaus elijah rebeka etc we had Tyler and his struggles I mean etc, character development is important and prevents it from becoming boring and redundant

One of the good things about CW is, they always bring major characters back.
But even if she is gone for good, hiring an actress to give Kate a proper send off, is a thousand times better than off screening it.
We don't know under what conditions Wallis agreed. There mir still be the possibility that she doesn't wanted to take a leading role or has something else planned.

And that was just an idea why she left, cause people always go straight away blaming the producers and writers, even if an actor wanted to leave.
But yeah, she had great chemistry with everyone. Probably because she was more cheery than Ruby.
But I'm also okay with her going for now.

Sorry, but if it's okay to hype the show or to comment "how great her character development was" and "how you love this show", then you also have to endure when people critizise it. The CW decided to tell a Batwoman story, so of course, this attracts comic fans. And from the beginning, the writers failed to tell a compelling story or even deliver on that hero part. They didn't really go into who Batwoman was or who she want to be, they just put a wig on Batman, didn't even give Kate character development or struggles and used the characters for Real Life social commentary.
Which is fine by itself, but the very moment you twist established characters and franchises like that, you have to endure that people dislike it.

I still wish they had just recast the Kate Kane role and followed her original storyline and then brought Ryan in when Kate has had more time to finish her story. I get that Ruby quit. So there’s no choice but to recast. But they didn’t have to go through with Alice giving her a new face. Ruby quit so just bring in a new actress to finish the story. I really wanted to see her encounter with Bruce in the first episode. Even if it was really him.

so basically i’ve just got into the show and just finished season 1 and i saw the first episode or season 2 and i freaked out
And it was at this point where the show killed itself by getting rid of the actual comic character for an OC (original character).
I'm so pissed. I thought the whole point of Kate coming back was for her to return as Batwoman.
Don't get me wrong, I think Ryan is okay. But you can't just completely change the identity of a superhero like this. It's just not right.
Now I may sound like a totally ass, but I really hope that if a Season 3 happens, Ryan is killed off leaving Kate to return.

I still don't like Ryan. It stills seems like she's forced to be Batwomen. The only reason I was watching it is because of her. The acting with Ryan is good. But I never liked the character. I hope Kate will be back in season 3 maybe we can have a batwoman spin off about Kate finding bruce and we can see him giving her extra training and they fight crime near where they are and the spin off ends with them returning to gotham to reunite with the heroes who are there now.

Although the actress didnt want to continue in season 3, it would be great if she an pop up in 2 or 3 episode, to keep continuity.

Wallis appreciates the roles she gets, Ruby left because she enjoyed the short filming schedules for movies
Tv role's for Ruby were short and never lead roles, she did more support cast movies including a Jason Stathom movie (Meg) and a John Wick movie before taking on the leading tv role of Batwoman, filming was too long (9 months a year) and decided she didnt like it, and used the allergic reaction excuse to jump ship and got a movie before the Batwoman exit doors had closed behind her
Shes now done 2 movies since leaving batwoman, both of which put her in support cast with violent characters, her first post batwoman film was about a violent former military bodyguard (sound familiar, thats because Batwoman was principally the same thing, protecting Gotham as a bodyguard)

I really enjoyed the Ryan storyline in season two. The actor who plays her is amazing. I get why the role for Kate Kane was recasted, but i dont understand why she was recasted to just not be in the show. I expected after Ryan got justice for her mom, and Kate was found alive that Ryan’s story would have ended there. When Kate said she was going to find bruce i feel like we were all given the impression season three would be centering around Kate and Ryan(but so far nothing). Dont get me wrong season 2 was amazing but so far the writing for season 3 is all over the place. To the point in which the show feel like weird what-if fan fiction. Idk Maybe im reaching i know its suppose to be an adaptation of a dc character but shit is getting weird 💀
Even though Kate left Gotham and might return in season 3 along with her cousin Bruce Wayne, still be happy that she’s finally back even though she has to deal with her new face and not have her tattoos anymore either.

Was hoping Wallis Day would taker over as Batwoman in season 3. If they just got another actress I know how they could have done the face change and less tattoos on Kate all goes back to crisis. Yeah I know when Oliver put all the earth together and Made earth prime it was Still Ruby Rose but maybe given more time or something Wallis Day could have been the new Kate Luke see her one day and think's it's someone else but it's really Kate with a new look from crisis.

For anyone wondering why Kate’s character left, the actress Ruby Rose walked away from Batwoman for unknown reasons. It was her decision. So Javicia Leslie took over as Ryan. Wallis Day stepped in to finish the story of Kate as she only agreed to do one season of the TV series (she was committed to other projects), so they left Kate’s journey open ended (she went to hunt for the real Bruce Wayne.
I wish they kept both characters. They had a bad a** battle with each other. Equals in power and strength. Kate could have taken a break from being Batwoman to help her sister and dad, but kept her romance with Sophie.
Apparently it's because of a hostile toxic work environment in the Batwoman filming days.
Ruby Rose said everyone treated her badly for some reason, Luke's actor said the opposite, that Ruby acted like a tyrant all the time, arrived late at the filming days and etc.
And instead of just keep using Kate under Wallis Day aka the fandom's #1 best option to play the character, they opted to create a diversity oc for the sake of they can do it just because.

Al principio dijo saber entender la historia y todo el personaje de Kate, luego renuncia Ruby, y manda al demonio al personaje para centrarse en una OC que nada que ver.
Y parece que por culpa de Ruby (segun lashowrunner) Kate ya no tiene cavida y la quitan... de su propia serie.

I do like it! But... it was a journey. At first, I expected to see a solid superhero adaptation with deeper morals, world building, great actions scenes and skillfull storytelling. My hopes were crushed, every single episode. But then, I changed my perspective. To enjoy the show, all you need to do is... watch it as a PARODY of a Superhero story. Suddenly, you'll have the time of your life!

For Luke as Nightwing either, for Kate to get revenge of Black Mask for making her "Circe," nothing. Just an absolute joke. Caroline Dries needs to be fired and never allowed to work on anything ever again.

I hope that Kate Kane is played once again by Ruby Rose only as Kate Kane for my Man-Bat solo film I'm also thinking that the movie could be produced by Guillermo del Toro. But I do hope that Kate Kane gets a chance to me Kara Danvers one last time before Supergirl goes off the air. It still breaks my heart that Supergirl is coming to an end. First we lose Arrow which ended well I'm guessing and now we're going to lose the biggest part of our CW superhero loving genre the woman of Steel and then the one thing that's very sad about this is where eventually going to lose the fastest man alive and then it won't be long before we have to say farewell to Batwoman also known to me as the dark princess of Gotham but we're also one day going to lose Legends of tomorrow and something really tells me that Sarah is going to leave after the show is finished. I am proposing to make a DC Comics movie based on a comic I've read when I was a child and I still love reading to this day this comic book is dedicated to the memory of Christopher Reeve and it is known as Kingdom Come but it would be very interesting to see if Steven Spielberg can direct kingdom come but we will have Zack Snyder as well as Steven Spielberg as producers but above all Steven Spielberg or his friends from amblin entertainment should write the screenplay.

Ruby Rose left the show now Jacob's leaving the show. Those two were literally the only reasons why the show was at all interesting to me. Not because they were great actors but because they were so hilariously bad. Especially Jacob who showed up all the time to set drunk and probably filmed his scenes within a week.
