I love having conversations with people and listening. And still have conversations with my 99 grandmother. I love hearing about her journey!

Yes, I agree, we are not taught how to listen. Listening is a skills that needs to be learned. Parents and teachers are so quick to criticise lack of listening and not paying attention, but they don't teach us how to. I remember attending deep listening lessons during my coaching training. I found it very valuable and wished I had learned this when I was at school. A great talk, I really enjoyed it!

You are so right about listening being a skill and something we are not taught, or rather, aware of why this is so challenging at times. I found the four mistakes helpful when thinking about my children and how I engage with them, so thank you so much for this insight. Although my daughter speaks at high speed, so I have to concentrate to stay with the story. 😆
