JanPlaysHD Equal or better In the bass department? I do not want less if so I may consider getting a pair for sports so I don't ruin my beats. I am also looking at sol republic
I really recommend the Razer Hammerhead pros for sport/running, cause they are very confortable, and they wont easily dall of. Sorry for my english, hopefully you could understand :D
I am a bassist and i find that boosting up the bass on musics to high levels doesnt really appeal to me as much as a balanced and pure sound with a CLEAR bass and not a bass booster , there is a difference there and it is a huge one
Linus, where can I get this guide you speak of for how to tie my shoes? It's not for me. I swear! Oh God...they're all laughing at me now. It's all happening again!
going deep in ear canal isn't necessarily good; many times you get much better sound from a shallow insert. More of a personal preference though, but sound does vary much shallow vs deep insertion.
I know. I got razer surround PRO for free. I think it's some xmas thing, plus I also got it for free with my razer kraken pro headphones, so I do have an extra code. will probably give to a friend!
My soundmagic headphones came with like 7 ear tip sizes/types, and have much higher audio quality over these headphones. Only like 30-40 bucks. Certain promotional offerings come with an addition pack of even more ear tips. Hard to beat.
actually impressed with the mic quality. I'll be honest I only purchased the Pro model over the regular model so that I could use the mic button for play/pause of my music and double tap to skip the song
is the bass so extreme that i couldn't just drop the bass in my phones eq a bit to make it a bit flatter? i listen to metal primarily so that bass is needed and a boost would be nice. but not boosted till i cant hear the clean vocals on top.
carlover Dude why are you going thorugh the comments throwing your anti-razer shit on everyone? Some people like this headphone, some people don't. You don't have to try and make other people feel bad, even though you're horribly failing at it.
MMedic Nah im not anti razer. The guy said he listens to metal. If he listens to metal he is better of with earphones with precise bass to hear the fast double bass pedals or similar. With this razers all hes going to hear is mush of rumble and a tiny bt of mids beneath the horror of that rumble, but with VSONIC VC1000 for example he would be able to hear each kick perfectly separate, while still hearing silk smooth mids and crisp highs. If he has good source that is.
Earbuds are fucking horrible for gaming lol. I'm pretty sure there are only 1 -4 But who the hell would us earbuds for gaming. They don't have the full sound unlike headphones which will block the sound from outside a lot. And more. Plus they can fall out of your ears. Never going to happen. Plus pretty sure the one in the video is for music.
Yes, I have beats studio and hammerhead pros and honestly the hammerheads are better. They have a amazing case and I love listening to music and using it as a mic! Great headphones 10/10
Yea they can...I currently use SOL Republic Amp's HD's...lets just say for the size they pack a punch! But I think sometime soon I will pick up a pair of these IEMs and give them a try. I like Bass, but don't want the sound to be drowned out by it. I want to hear the bass clearly, but the other sounds too. Keep up the good work Linus, Been a long time sub of yours :)
absolutely balanced, i bought a pair of razer blackshark headphones a while ago and i did not like them for that exact reason. They've since broke due to the poor 3.5mm connection, but when i was using them, they were very heavy on the bass side. So much so that i had to create custom equalizer profiles whenever possible to eliminate the overpowering bass.
Because he got a cover for it. It isn't the original, but some people prefer the original aesthetics and what the devs intended the phone to look like instead of putting a big bulky case on there.
Encased within each sleek, brushed shell is a high performance, precision-tuned 9mm neodymium driver. Paired with an optimized inner acoustics chamber in each shell, these in-ear monitors produce a sound signature that packs a strong bass while maintaining crystal clear mids and highs.
I've got CX 3.00's but i'm going to buy Hammerheads. Sennheiser's are good and have lasted me 2 years but are starting to crackle and cut in and out, so i need a new pair but i want to try something different
what i wanna know is when hooking up a set of hammerheads with a set of headphones so 2 pairs of head/earphones will this make competitive gaming better???? i dont like really loud sounds but i like to hear footsteps and gun fire in the background cause it give me a sens of direction of where they are will this help me???
20HZ to 20KHZ response???? That's bull shit. I have the Sony MDREX50LP's, Sony's discontinued in ear headphones with Sony's Extra Bass design. They have a massive 5HZ to 23,000HZ response range, all in a tiny 9mm dome driver. I love them. And even though they are Sony's "Extra Bass" model, they do not lack in mids and highs. They have an impressive sound stage with crystal clear highs, as well as stunning mid range. But what's really impressive is the low end. And the vocal range has very little distortion when the bass hits, meaning the vocals of your music will remain clear and intelligible. The ultra wide response range then extends far beyond out human range means that these little guys will sing every note in your music, and the drivers will move more air, for better detail and low end reproduction. I love them and they only cost me 35 bucks. Great deal. the price justifies the sound quality though. They sound like 70 or 80 dollar in ears. So they are a bit under priced, but that's ok with me. The build quality is good. The ear tips are rubber and the housing witch house the drivers are plastic. The cord is good and the plug is gold plated for improved signal transfer. I'd recommend you get them if you can find them. I was lucky and got these at Target. it was one of only two pairs that they had. But if you can find them, then buy them. You will not be disappointed :-D
***** No. It means that the drivers that Sony uses move more air, creating better sound. The 5 HZ to 23KHZ means that they will produce cleaner sound without distortion. Your the idiot here. Just because they can produce far beyond the range, doesn't mean they dont sound good. They do in fact sound very clean, rich, and full.
Arch TK I now right? I seen them at target and it was the SECOND LAST PAIR. The price does not do the quality a justice though. I knew these were Sony's budget ear buds, but the sound quality was far from budget. Booming and rich hard hitting lows, ultra smooth mids, and the highs sang as smooth and as crisp as Céline Dion ;-) I paid 35 bucks for them. But I think Sony can get away with pricing these at like 45 bucks cause MAN the sound sounds like your listening to high end stuff. I use these more then my Solo HD 2's from Beats By Dre :-D
Ear buds are not really good for COMPETITIVE gaming, but if you are playing a casual game like Cod or battlefield, then they are pretty good. Unless, if you like to hear people around you a lot easier.
If anyone is reading this comment and is looking into buy some headphones.. For the love of GOD do NOT buy BEATS BY DRE! They are absolute SHIT! All the money is spent on advertisement and packaging! I got some for Christmas and they broke within a month.. I realised how stupid I was when I didn't go straight for some razer headphones, which are way better and cheaper!!
+Aaponton I like me some bass, but giving headphones good bass response, and ignoring the mids and highs still ruins bass heavy music, yeah the bass comes through clear but with the mids and highs being shit you still get a bad song listening experience.
Haha! I love how he anxiously checked the ear piece first after he pulled it out of his ear in order to make sure no greace was on it before holding it into the cam. You don´t have to be self conscious if your hygene is adequate Linus!
If you want IEM's with more than the std 3 tips try the RHA 10, 10i, 20 or 20i the "I" being the ios versions. RHA are a Scottish manufacturer with in these four models a very unique product with metal housing and different tubes that screw in to them for different sound stage.
Would you recommend these over the monster turbine IEMs? They are both the same price (50$ +tx) but the razers look cooler while monster seems like a more expensive product.
Linus you should look into the Klipstch brand of earbuds, I have them and even though they are still meant for "bass-heads" they might be the most reliable earbuds available. My friend has put his Kliptsch S4i's into the washer and dryer twice, jumped into a pool with them in his pocket, gone to the beach with them and gotten them in the water and still after four years they are still working perfectly.
I like that balanced feel with just a little bit more base. I definitely like the base when I'm watching movies on my phone or computer as well as playing games to hear the explosions and crashes but for music I think balance is good
I enjoy a balanced sound, however I usually turn up the highs and put the mids around 1~2k a bit low to get a deep, heavy sound. But a lot of "balanced" headphones lack thunderous bass. If these can handle putting highs up at +2ish decibels, then I would love these. I'd have to try em.
I pesonally listen to a lot of Classical and Romantic period music, and those styles are very dynamic in both volume and pitch range, so, for me, I like to have a little bit of boost in the bass, but it has to have excellent mid and highs.
There have been a few high end IEMs come out recently that may be worth a look. The Hifiman RE-600, the Ultrason Tio and the Ultimate Ears UE900, not too many detailed reviews yet from what i've seen but appears they will be fairly balanced sounding.
I bought a pair a month ago from official Razer Amazon store. I don't know if I got a faulty one, but I didn't get any packaging or product introductions/papers. The left side is a bit louder than my right side, and the overall sound quality is worse than an old Apple earbuds. They are good looking, though.
I know this my sound like a silly question but can those in-ear headphones replace over-ear headphones for gaming that relies heavily on sound like Counter-Strike? Are there any drawbacks?
-it isn't sourround -you can hear a lot outside of the sound u wanna hear +it fits good +it's cheap hope it helped u a little bit (yes i'am playing csgo)
Personally I prefer over hear headphones for gaming and in ear headphones for music. Theres just a different feel for distinct sounds on a headset. I have the Hammerheads and the Razer Kraken and use the kraken for gaming and the hanmerheads for music
im a bit curious, ik its like your job to review these electronics but you buy so many! or do you? if you do actually buy all these products what do you do with the ones you dont like?
There are so many different kinds of in-ear monitors with so many different earphone sleeves. Overwhelming majority of people seem to agree that Shure's black foam tips (olives) are very comfortable. Some prefer Comply's foam tips, Shure's triple flange (double flange through cutting), soft flex sleeves, or even custom fitted ones. I'm neglecting many other types, so unless you've experimented with them, you shouldn't write IEMs out like that.
I like a balanced tonal range. As someone who listens to all kinds of music ranging from classical to black metal I like headphones and IEMs with balance.
Linus if you are looking for a good set of IEMs that include A LOT of options, check out the Westone 4 they come with 9-10 different ear tips and they sound GREAT they are really balanced
Linus, most phones/mp3 players have Equalizer settings. (You probably know but just wanted to mention it.) You can tweak those settings to match your liking. Some phones have headphone effects and there's a Bass Reducing option too.
I like a more balanced one while gaming and watching movies, but when I'm listening metal, I do enjoy my bass. However I'm questioning myself what type of sound do I really like, I have listened some really good digital audio and soundbars and I wonder if the big speakers are still the best choice.
I think i am seeing more people prefer an equalized experience, I would have to agree. When i was younger i was more in the the stronger bass, but now that i make music and listen to music more in depth i find it silly to overwhelm things with bass. Bass is very important, and needs to be felt more than heard. So yes, and equalized to nearly flat experience is the optimal one for me.
I have these for 1 year. the sound is very good (IF you stick them inside your ears very well - might cause headaches). The smaller ear tips i used got destroyed in about 4 months.. then you're forced to use largest ones... which might not fit your ear.. really frustrating..
How is that a headphone splitter? It has one receiving end and two output ends, which means it doesn't split into anything? Should a splitter have two input ends and one output end? I'm confused.
it splits your headphone into seperate audio and microphone jacks, for example to use on a laptop or desktop that doesn't feature a combo jack like most phones nowadays have
I like phones that allow you to hear the bass, because often the base section is washed out by the treble. I think bassy headphones allow you to hear more elements of the music and creates a much more enjoyable experience.
I really enjoy my Klipsch Image X10, which have good bass without compromising on the mids / highs quality. Obviously they are very comfortable too (sooooo tiny you don't even notice you are wearing em).
I far prefer a "balanced" sound. Since I've bought my IEMs two years ago, I found that having a mellow (and balanced) sound means that I can use them for hours at a time without getting fatigued.
The only problem I have with spending this much money on IEMs is that they always seem to die so quickly, mainly the jack gets weak and starts cutting out.
So I am going to buy this today, but I read a few reviews on Amazon that the left earbud with the inline mic stops working after a few months. So i am not sure if I should buy the pro, regular, or just a different one. Please help LinusTechTips
Well Linus, regarding the eartips: You should definitely check out the Teufel Aureol Fidelity. They also outclass the Hammerheads in every other possible way.
I often go out and bike and when I have my regular ones the base diminishes a lot so I'd like to have a bit more base when I'm out at least :) Thanks for the overview Linus!
I have had several high end headsets(in and over ear models) and I definitely prefer a more level sound, as you do Linus. However, I do like bass and need to have to ability to raise the bass levels via an equalizer.
In-ears have one problem for me: Either I can use small cones and put them deep into my ears where they do not fall out or I can use the big ones for proper isolation wich means much better sound. The only ones that can give me both are the Panasonic HJE125. They have a weird angled design wich prevents them from falling out and they sit rather deep in. Also they cost 10$ and sound way better than anything else I have listened to in this category. IMO for 70$ you should rather get proper headphones.
next up: razer hammerhead pro chroma
YESS
Lol they made a new one just then

Ikr !i was thinking on buying a big headset, but when i saw these headphones.I was really impressed
JanPlaysHD
You were impressed at the sight of them? I kinda think they look ugly glad I got my beats
psp420bam I have some beats aswell, but these sounds better in my opinion......
JanPlaysHD
Equal or better In the bass department? I do not want less if so I may consider getting a pair for sports so I don't ruin my beats.
I am also looking at sol republic
I really recommend the Razer Hammerhead pros for sport/running, cause they are very confortable, and they wont easily dall of.

Very professional and informative, loved your video.
Welcome to Linus Techtips. :)
Ye know what, Linus? I always forget how to tie my shoes. So thanks for your recommendation to Razer for the extra guide. You rock.
You're not completely right. Very high quality IEMs can deliver some AWESOME sound.
wtf? not pinned
Linus, where can I get this guide you speak of for how to tie my shoes? It's not for me. I swear! Oh God...they're all laughing at me now. It's all happening again!
you did a good review, you deserve a lot of recognition i'm sure your channel will grow

That sounds wrong
mmmm.. the sound does vary from deep insertion :P
I love bass! Bass is life!!!
+Bruno Barros I can agree that bass is love, and that bass is life.
weeowey Hell yeah!!!
I have bass boosted every speaker I can lol
weeowey I installed software Razer Cortex and it's incredible what can do with your sound
I know. I got razer surround PRO for free. I think it's some xmas thing, plus I also got it for free with my razer kraken pro headphones, so I do have an extra code. will probably give to a friend!
idk bass and balance are both nice. bass can make something seem more heavy and having it balanced can seem, well, balanced.
My soundmagic headphones came with like 7 ear tip sizes/types, and have much higher audio quality over these headphones. Only like 30-40 bucks. Certain promotional offerings come with an addition pack of even more ear tips. Hard to beat.
Capn Smashem What model of Soundmagics are your bad boys?
Link?
Watching this video while I am using the Hammerhead Pro headset, and I must say that the outro song sounds really good in these! :-D
i just bought these for cheap and i think these are pretty good.
No but they go SUPER SAIYAN BASS KHz OVER 9000
actually impressed with the mic quality.
You would be better with buying better headphones.
carlover Dude why are you going thorugh the comments throwing your anti-razer shit on everyone? Some people like this headphone, some people don't. You don't have to try and make other people feel bad, even though you're horribly failing at it.
MMedic Nah im not anti razer. The guy said he listens to metal. If he listens to metal he is better of with earphones with precise bass to hear the fast double bass pedals or similar. carlover i have to agree, the hammerhead sounded to me like a pair of subwoofers stuck on my ears
***** Thank you.
That was a sweet finish, lining up the recorded audio perfectly.
can you make a top 10 gaming earbuds ?
lol

+GameSlimia No. Alot pro players use these to listen, and headphones to cuz mic.
+GameSlimia all cs pros use them at lans
rafay asad Yeah but unlike headphones, they USUALLY don't block out any outside sounds while gaming
These look great. Buying asap. And that mic quality is perfect for Mumble.
does it have a high quality bass or a "beats" bass?
Yes, I have beats studio and hammerhead pros and honestly the hammerheads are better. They have a amazing case and I love listening to music and using it as a mic! Great headphones 10/10
Yea they can...I currently use SOL Republic Amp's HD's...lets just say for the size they pack a punch! But I think sometime soon I will pick up a pair of these IEMs and give them a try. Ear buds are not really good for COMPETITIVE gaming, but if you are playing a casual game like Cod or battlefield, then they are pretty good. Unless, if you like to hear people around you a lot easier.
but can it run crysis
YaBoyCaleb some IEMs produce a wide sound stage and work well for gaming
is it good for league of legends?
anything is good for league of legends
love the camera work
If anyone is reading this comment and is looking into buy some headphones.. For the love of GOD do NOT buy BEATS BY DRE! They are absolute SHIT! All the money is spent on advertisement and packaging! psp420bam
That mic is pretty damn good compared to all the in-line mics I've used
My Soundmagic E10 sound much better than these IEM, hammerhead is a bass cannon like their other audio products
+Shibe Doge they dont have mic option?
+Bad Max yep
its all about the bass
i like bass music more than any other music so they are made for me but i dont in ears
+Aaponton I like me some bass, but giving headphones good bass response, and ignoring the mids and highs still ruins bass heavy music, yeah the bass comes through clear but with the mids and highs being shit you still get a bad song listening experience.

Balanced sound on the headphone side so I'm able to adjust the levels and nice Implementation of the mic at the end.

I would like to have these but I've never had a pair or IEBs that fit me..... maybe if they offered more than 3 sizes.
will there be like an "Ultimate" version or something? hope they add + and - buttons . D:
Is it more durable than the v2 hammerhead base?
I love the intro with AdhesiveWombat :D

Personally I prefer over hear headphones for gaming and in ear headphones for music. Theres just a different feel for distinct sounds on a headset. I have the Hammerheads and the Razer Kraken and use the kraken for gaming and the hanmerheads for music
I use sony MDR EX 650 and the stereo separation is absolutely fine for CSGO.
Did you buy them? If you did were they good enough for counter-strike sounds?
Bass headset on acoustic type eq usually sounds great for rock-type music as well as dub step
He did :P, The ending speech is recorder with the in-line mic. It sounds so good.
im a bit curious, ik its like your job to review these electronics but you buy so many! or do you? if you do actually buy all these products what do you do with the ones you dont like?
Doing the audio recording at the end was very cool
I heard that earphones can't go Dolby 5.1 or 7.1 and can only be virtually tweaked by the Razer driver up to 2.0
is this true? :O
I like a more balanced one while gaming and watching movies, but when I'm listening metal, I do enjoy my bass.
However I'm questioning myself what type of sound do I really like, I have listened some really good digital audio and soundbars and I wonder if the big speakers are still the best choice.
I think your intro and exit music would sound awesome on the Hammerheads
So if you listened to Pentatonix, Avi would sound awesome?
Obviously they are very comfortable too (sooooo tiny you don't even notice you are wearing em).
i have a question for you linus WHAT DO YOU DO WITH ALL THE STUFF YOU UNBOX ? i dont get it i get confused when i use 2 headsets .
Sorry if this is stupid but, can that mic possibly work while on pc, or is it only for answering calls and what not on mobile devices?
It also works on pc
thx m8.
I like Pie Thats why it comes with the spliters :)
oh, that makes more sense. thx for the extra info. :)
np
I far prefer a "balanced" sound. Since I've bought my IEMs two years ago, I found that having a mellow (and balanced) sound means that I can use them for hours at a time without getting fatigued.
The only problem I have with spending this much money on IEMs is that they always seem to die so quickly, mainly the jack gets weak and starts cutting out.
So I am going to buy this today, but I read a few reviews on Amazon that the left earbud with the inline mic stops working after a few months. So i am not sure if I should buy the pro, regular, or just a different one. Please help LinusTechTips
Like it quite balanced, but bass bit on the low. Dunno if it's all placebo, but it seems like a can pinpoint stuff better.
Bass for sure. Great video btw!
they give this a quick start guide but yet the tactical pro backpack has no info on where anything is or what its for.
Does the in line control change the volume? If not is it worth buying the pro's or just the regulars?
Well Linus, regarding the eartips: You should definitely check out the Teufel Aureol Fidelity. They also outclass the Hammerheads in every other possible way.
Would love to see a new Headphone / Headset comparison video with some of the stuff you've unboxed so far.
Razer hammerhead pro or adaro in ear?
I often go out and bike and when I have my regular ones the base diminishes a lot so I'd like to have a bit more base when I'm out at least :) Thanks for the overview Linus!
Hey guys and linus.I really like to know what is inside of that NVIDIA TOP SECRET BOX on the show case back there ??????????
The quality of that mic is...fantastic, wow.
I have this headphones and microphone doesn't work. In phone micro work, in pc doesn't wordk. Why?
jakub jakubowski Because you have to use the another cable who split in Two cables for pc
Did you try the Razer Adaro in Ears ?? if yes , Which is better between the Razer Hammerhead Pro and Razer Adaro in ears?
