    I hope you like the video!
    This was to show how I keep and look after my Giant African Millipede's, care for them & dietary requirements. I also wanted to show the feeder tub I use for my feeder insects & other critters like culturing springtails etc...

    love it as ever!! 🥰
    may i ask what tank you use for your giant african millies? it looks so luxurious and nicely lit (as well as the amazing job you've done with substrate and plants, obviously)! would love to move mine into something like this eventually 😊 anyway, thank you for another brilliant update!!

      Hello Dakota ❤️
      Yeah of course - I believe the tank was a 60x45x45cm opti-white aquarium. Meaning it’s clearer. I used a Nicrew light which was around 55cm length too, which has white & blue LEDS. It was only around £20-£30 I think for the light. My substrate was literally soil from outside mixed with 1 bag of 5L peat & coco free soil which just padded it out a little more 😃
      Thank you so much for tuning in ❤️

    Quite scary when they escape as they're quite a size! What camera do you use as the close range perspective quality is awesome?

      I literally only use my iPhone mate, not the best one either. I’m hoping to get better recording gear soon so I can make higher quality videos 💁🏼‍♂️

    I really struggle to find any enclosures that has enough height to support millipedes of this size. Where did you get yours? Are there any you would recommend?

      You'll find plenty of fishtanks that are 24 inches deep easy enough second hand

    What plants did you use in the tank? I'm too scared to put living plants in incase mine eat them and die!

    • @AntScapes1
      @AntScapes1  Год назад +1

      Never be afraid to plant up a tank, they barely eat them. Plus it only adds colour and life to the setup.
      I used English Ivy, ficus pumila, pepperomias, Australian ivy and a few others 😄

    I really need you to answer this question because I’ve done loads of research but I can’t really find anything, do you ever clean their enclosure?

      I don’t mean the glass, like do you ever fully redo it?

    • @AntScapes1
      @AntScapes1  5 месяцев назад

      I tend to just wipe the glass down, I add leaf litter every couple of weeks or mainly until it’s all eaten then add more leaf litter 😄

      @@AntScapes1oh ok🙂👍 also, I really wanna forage for some hardscape/moss, I already know when stuff looks safe to use and not safe because I have loads of terrariums, but if I do forage for stuff, is there a lot of danger in that or is it fairly safe?

    How often do you need to replace the wood? Do you ever worry about bringing in harmful animals with the wood if you collected it from nature?
