    Thanks a lot for this video. Been running my Seat Leon 1P1 II 1.9TD 105HP for a while now. Never wanted to get into this world but the car is so fun to drive that i sense soon i'll have to sell it and go for something with double HP to build on that. For now I think i'll stick with a modest tunning aiming the 135-140HP just so I get bit more torque to take over on the highway

    Hi. New subscriber here.. when you talk about milage. What do you assume as high mileage?

    • @torquecars
      @torquecars  Год назад

      Hi buddy, thanks for the sub. What is a high mileage is a very subjective question and much depends on how the engine has been looked after, a lot of people assume 80,000 on petrol and 130,000 on diesels.
      Personally I would say 100,000 on petrol as you start to see things failing and wear and tear is taking it's toll and on diesels you can get to 150,000 before you start experiencing similar wear and tear related issues.
      It does depend on the engine though, as they lose compression and start to wear they can throw up all sorts of problems, a well maintained engine though is in a much better condition and will tolerate tuning more easily.
      So perhaps the best answer is "if the compression ratio is lower the engine is more worn and considered high mileage"?

    So which of these do you view as essential, and which in your opinion do not really matter?
    Have you tuned your car and had problems afterwards? Please share your experiences.

    Evan for a stage 1. Is it advisable to put in some "cheaper" parts like air intake, filters. etc.? Just so that motor does not bottleneck?

    • @torquecars
      @torquecars  Год назад

      The more mods you add the more you gain from each of them. Removing bottlenecks is the key. So even on a simple engine tune or remap you'll often get a little more by adding an intake but adding the intake without a tune won't make much difference at all.
      Some mods work well together and others can cause problems, for example adding a performance camshaft and porting the head can often cause problems if they are not done and setup at the same time.
      Much does depend on the engine though, your local garage/performance shop will be able to suggest suitable supporting upgrades usually.

    Tubular manifold vs standard vs ported standard which is best for eliminating back pressure and stop blowing turbo to manifold gasket

      Here are my thoughts on this topic in a video for you... ruclips.net/video/Ic-eQhUY83o/видео.html Definitely do it, but ramp up the service intervals. I'm guessing you are on the second clutch anyway.

    Hi Guys,
    I was watching your videos, they gave me a lot of useful information about car tuning. I am thinking to remap (stage 1) for my lovely Toyota Avensis estate 2016 year model (143hp) and also remapped going to do engine carbon cleaning.
    Is it safe and legal to do? I am worrying about engine, turbo, clutch longevity? Any recommendations ? Thx

    • @torquecars
      @torquecars  Год назад +1

      I'm not all that familiar with the Toyota Diesels when it comes to making specific recommendations as I like to actually try things out myself.
      A 40hp gain from a remap is relatively simple on those engines (diesel). If the clutch is getting on it might struggle, but you'd probably need to get a new clutch soon anyway so the remap would just expose an existing weakness rather than create a new one. Clutches are pretty solid on these IMO so I wouldn't expect that to be an issue. The engine should be every bit as reliable after a remap, but I would always recommend a shorter service interval to keep it that way. Carbon build up should be no worse that standard as long as the map doesn't run too rich. To be totally safe ask for an economy remap which would still give you a decent hike in power and fuel economy but won't push it too far.
      Legality depends where you live, but in many areas, where emissions are not adversely affected it is totally fine.

    I really enjoy the knowledge you share with us.. Recently, i’ve had a remap on c200 kompressor 2009 model petrol 1.8L @stock: 181 hp 250nm torque.. after getting stage 1 : 221 hp 330nm torque.. Its just done three days ago. but i didn’t feel any difference.. the tuner claimed 4 degrees ignition advance, new k&N filter installed.. He saying that my car is losing power bcz of it has no resonator and no muffler.. he added, These types of car needs back pressure.. Please help me to find out what could be the reason.. the health of the engine is very good he said.. Would you like to share with me your opinion on this please. Thanks 😊 for reading a long comment 😅 I appreciate your help ❤

      I know it is 3 months later, but find a different tuner. If the guy believes a car needs back pressure he is an idiot. 40 hp is a substantial difference, something you should feel. Was the remap done on a dyno with before and after runs?

  • @redthreadzen
    @redthreadzen 2 года назад

    Most of these I did before the tune. Did the diagnostic code check and a service prior to tune. But I admit I didn't really have a look at any of the intake and boost pipe side or check for compression. Mainly becuase the engine is in such good conditon to begin with. In retrospect some benchmarking prior would have been good. Had absolutly now problem after the tune and it really does bring the engine to life. It's 2ltr TDI CFFB engine. I used a Viezu tune map with a local tuner installing it. I wondered if you'd had any experience with company being a UK based tuning company that does VAG cars?
    Up next is a DSG tune. Can you do a video guide about DSG tunes please.
    Is there anything different that needs checking with a TDI engine?

    • @torquecars
      @torquecars  2 года назад

      I am working on DSG mapping vidoes, I want to make it more general to cover as many cars as possible. Viezu have a good reputation but much depends on the local insaller and if they check the car thoroughly before mapping it.
      TDi engine checks are similar, if anything they are less likely to have compression loss as the engines are very well made due to the way they work.

    Good points.
    I have a stock Ibiza 2.0 Tdi CFHD EA189, my clutch and DMF started to fail, so I'm thinking of upgrading to stronger kit, but im struggling to find one for the right price, I've thought about putting a Golf 6 GTD kit on my car.
    Can you suggest one for me please? And how can I check if it fits?

      Do you have a Sachs supplier near you, they do a decent flywheel upgrade for these engines.

    Hi i have question i wanna buy golf 5 2.0 125kw dsg 2007-10 date of manufacture, so i see that this engine have 3 models BMN, BMR, BRD so question is which one is worst or they three are good to buy?

    • @torquecars
      @torquecars  2 года назад

      They are all good units, each has the dpf and puts out 170hp. The later in the alphabet the newer the engine revision, so the BRD is the later engine, but in this case there are few signfiicant differences in the engines or anciliary components.

    Other than the 2JZ you haven't covered much about it yet. Any plans in the future?
    Can you please also make a short video on tips on how to improve the life of our cars. I mean we know there have to be a few tips that somehow help us in elongating the lives of our cars and people here would agree with me that we are eager to hear what you have to say about these things. :)
