I am a dutch citizen, who lived my life equally between Europe, Asia and the USA. I visited Pakistan in the early 1980ies. Amazing country,very hospitable people and stunning landscapes. I mostly loved Schwab and after especially the Hunza valley. I was one of the early visitors and the town was small and not touristic at that time. An overall wonderful experience in a magical setting.
I just can't get enough of the different cultures of people I get to learn about from watching a food show...I just love learning about all of the unique people of the world...Thanks for all of your hard work making these videos...one of the best parts of my week watching them.
Food is a gateway to other people's culture, it's also a good vehicle to open up discussions and have a conversation. Food is a universal necessity in human life and just based on that alone we can all relate. We as human beings are naturally inquisitive creatures. Exploration and learning is apart of our DNA.

Lavomit Lepcha in Hunza the old generation can't speak English but rest our literacy rate is 100 % despite of living in the mountains ,we are blessed Alhumduliallah...
they have a 95% literacy rate and it’s common to speak 3-4 languages there. There are two local languages that were separated by valleys, the Urdu, then English.
It is so very clear that the high altitude and fresh food only with out processed ingredients are contributing to their long life spans.. it’s beautiful to see 🇵🇰🤍🙏🏽

By far the most documentary felt videos on the internet and by far the most enjoyable (tv included) you’re just a really down to earth and easy going guy. I know people will think I'm crazy for suggesting it, but if anybody should inherit the mantle of Anthony Bourdain, it's Sonny. His dedication to highlighting the people and culture is very much in line with Bourdain's style.

Skardu another valley in same region is 10x more Beautiful then this and if you love lush green fields and Mountains then Swat valley and Azad Kashmir region is heavenly as Switzerland but with not that infrastructure(Infrastructure is under development). Absolutely awe struck by the Hunza home, the little twisted alleyways, the decor, of course the food...everything. Thank you for opening my eyes to this potential travel destination. As an aside I think you should really compile a cookbook (please please) of your favourite recipes. Thanks for taking me on yet another fabulous adventure!
Hunza is known for its magical glacial water known as Hunza water, an Hungarian scientists did 28 years of research and concluded that the water in Hunza contains special kind of ancient bacteria and that bacteria is a factor of the longevity of the people there

Check out Trevor James videos too if you like food shows. They are the most hospitable people, I'd literally go there for free food. I hate what media has done to this country.
I just wish one day I could visit these mountains.. Although I have moved to Canada and here we have similar places in plenty. But the authenticity and history of Pakistan mountains are no match.. I wish we were one nation…🤝

As an Indian, I don't know whether I shall be ever able to visit Hunza valley but believe me, it is so beautiful. The ladies are lovely and warm. The foods are great.

true say, I haven't eaten anything my grandmother made for nearly 30yrs, but I still remember her dishes vividly, and can still taste them. extra fat chapattis, completely drenched in ghee!!! drenched is an understatement. her spinach curry was 20 levels above any spinach curry anywhere.

This was FASCINATING! Pakistan's beauty is MAGFICIENT and the innocent people are really sweet, kind and generous. The pakistani guide ali did his research. I am blown away by the strange mix of ingredients, the simple yet sensible housing and decor and the place is just wow wow wow. Mate this was your best discovery so far ❤
Gotta say that I love Islamic and Middle Eastern cuisine. So varied and vibrant and down to earth. Sonny bringing all of us to remote villages as well as city streets of so many countries and cultures is truly a blessing. I wish I could experience them personally but seeing Sonny's honest experiences is the next best thing.

Wow as an Indian I'm amazed by the cultural diversity that exists in Pakistan as well.. like the Hunza Valley region is completely different than the rest of Pakistan.. such hospitable and nice people.
Pak is very diverse than majority of people think. AJK, Punjab & Sindh are closer to Indian culture while Balochistan & kpk share cultural similarities with Afg & Iran and Northern most people share Central Asian cultures. so it all makes the cultural differences very much distinct

This series about Pakistan is so much better than the Uzbekistan series - the people are smiling, talking to Sonny directly, the interaction seems really authentic, not staged (unlike the Nowruz celebration in Uzbekistan!). I love it, and I'm really looking forward to the next episode.

Alexander the Great belonged to an Illyrian tribe and the descendants of the Illyrians are today's Albanians! Hunza has meaning in the language Albanian The nose, the nose distinguishes these residents from the locals!! the language these residents speak is called burrashka and it means the language of men in Albanian!! If you go there you will hear many words in the Albanian language and names in the Albanian language, there are also some songs that these residents sing in Albanian!! interesting!

Alexander the Great belonged to an Illyrian tribe and the descendants of the Illyrians are today's Albanians! Hunza has meaning in the language Albanian The nose, the nose distinguishes these residents from the locals!! the language these residents speak is called burrashka and it means the language of men in Albanian!! Even if an Indian person gets a visa to visit Pakistan, they can't visit AJK and GB because their dumb@$$ government lays claim to these parts.
